Back in 2001, I came this close to buying a ‘72 that was also yellow. A guy that sells vintage cars in Horseheads NY had one, and it was perfect. I wanted it bad, but I had to sell my beautiful ‘90 Iroc first, so I put it up for sale and it sold quickly. With money in hand, I went back to the seller of the Z, and he had literally just sold it. I’m not sure it was that same yellow, but I’m sure it was the original color. The engine bay and everything else was the same yellow as the exterior.

It's weird, I like to look at that color, but I don't think I would like to own a car with that color

Now that's one "Fairlady" indeed. I remember one year, Nissan was doing the NAPA Auto Parts Supercars (can I say that because it's Genuine Parts Company's Australian subsidiary that sponsors it and Bathurst now) Championship at Sandown, then a throwback round, where the Kelly Racing Nissan squad did a John Morton (red) and a Bobby Allison (powder blue) BRE throwback for their Altimas that had their engine blocks imported from Tennessee! Remember seeing these Fairladies when I was a kid as I saw cars as they passed by my childhood home.

Fun fact two year color was 113 metallic green also known as avacado green with brown interior, straight out of the 70’s

that color definitely catches the eye, and i agree it needs a more classic steering wheel, but overall looks really nice as is

So many Z owners and people sleep on 240 Racing Green! It's basically a British Racing Green with a Gold Flake Metallic that really pops in direct sunlight! It's the color of choice I picked for my Z. Being in LA where I see tons of Z cars, I have yet to see another 240 racing green even at popular Datsun car shows and I noticed it's hard to even find any Z cars in this color online!

Totally Agree! Racing Green is a really classy color that hasn't gotten much attention (except for the one on BringATrailer that brought $310,000 a few years ago)

@@Joy-Riding That one was definitely unexpected when it sold for that much. That car was 907 dark green however so slightly different than the 240 racing green with the gold flake.

@@AnthonyCessor You're right, I was looking at the auction description, which notes it as racing green, but as you stated its actually 907 and 240 didn't come until 1976. Thanks for the clarification!

Not a bad color at all. My first car was a 1970 Dodge dart in top banana, my current car is a 2019 vw Jetta in habanero orange. Also was thinking about the bre datsun when I saw the video. Thanks for posting.

I like the rally wheels. Adam Carolla is a big Datsun guy so if you think of selling it one day contact his podcast and I would bet he might be interested.

Thanks, I do too. We aren't yet sure if a period 15 inch wheel will clear the brakes so it might stay as is. Adam has quite the collection!
