I'm loving this. I took a small ship through False Pass. I could have never made it through the Pass without the help of my mate who had worked in the Bering Sea for years. The scale of the mountain above the little village beneath it, made the houses look like doll houses in a movie setting. And yes, there are a lot of Halibut and Brown Bear there.

I enjoyed this you two, thank you. BTW - Jim I found you when I was watching Joe's channel, where you and Ted visited and stripped the bark from some logs -- and looked you up. Dave, I found Brooks channel ( how to poop in the woods was my first one :D ) and started watching you also. What I have loved about you all is that you've both responded to one of my comments at some point in time (as did Ted also). It made this old lady feel so special and you all have a special place in my heart. Again, Thank you.

Can't believe I am listening to a guy talk about The Red Green show and Da Yoopers! Blast from the past man. I grew up on a bay of Lake Superior on the Keweenaw Peninsula. We survived some incredible weather out there. Bad storms straight off the lake. It made me very weather resistant for the rest of my life. Every other kind of weather feels moderate. I wanted to get away from anything Yooper as fast as possible. Fond memories now.

Manythings grabbed my attention as I listened to this podcast ..The topic of bears really had me ..at one time my fear was moderate..and only newly moved from the South of Ontario..to a small Village, Serpent River ..which located South of Elliot lake..One season it was asked for us to bring our house garbage to our local dump ..My Native friend no fear ..as we pulled into the gates, the site keeper has 3/4 rifles on hand ..I was curious..as we proceeded to make our toss of house wholed garbage, I never would have seen so many bears ..And after my count of 40 , even I was nervous .living hear I have many bears sitings and stories and it's hoped you liked this one.. thanks 😊

I am a fan of both you guys. Was really routing for both of you to win Alone. I have been a subscriber since you put your KZfaq videos out. It gave me inspiration to start mine. I like the editing, filming and adventure parts. Would be awesome to see you guys do a trip together. I think the black bears in Alaska are a lot meaner because they have to deal with Grizzlies and always have to back down to them. The main problem i see is people feeding wild life and getting them habituated to humans. I have even seen it with snapping turtles. Went to a campground that people were feeding snapping turtles, i was fishing bare foot standing in the water and happen to see this large snapping turtle swimming right at me with its mouth wide open. Seem more scarier then a black bear. Same camp ground tourist were playing tug of war with a cooler and a black bear. Some people need just common sense, one thing you guys teach in your videos. Cheers

I would say that knowledge is the key to survival in the wilderness . Get to know before you go in. I would not go in because I have not enough knowledge right now. Preparedness is I would think is key to taking the psychological out of it.
