Day 4 and I’m convinced this Judge is the most cordial & respectful judge I’ve ever witnessed on the stand. He is genuinely concerned for everyone’s well being & is very polite. Nothing like other Wisconsin judges...he’s definitely a rarity.

He deserves recognition, not just from KZfaq comments (which I do hope he sees!) but also by colleagues, WI Attorney General, and others around him. It’s refreshing to know people such as him hold these incredibly important positions and roles. God Bless Him!

I think she knew what he did and that her life was in danger so she helped with cleanup (fact is she bought supplies, possibly more) and/or turned a blind eye till she could sort out situation. That's why she was clearly withholding info on stand, yet took screenshots of his location for police. She doesn't benefit from deaths & has no motive, don't think she had anything to do with the actual murders. They were in constant contact, no way she didn't know something was off (he is CLEARLY not that into doing "chores", esp considering neighbor said lawn wasn't even mowed & it's ALWAYS kept up.)

Agree. The brother was getting the attention with the diagnosis of diabetes. The same week, Chandler claimed the fall, and it progressed into worse lies that kept him from leaving the family home, getting a job, and an excuse for his graduation that wasnt going to happen. The father checked it all out though, and that did it for the lier. They had to go.
@andsuddenly42522 жыл бұрын
Clearly he couldn’t stand his brother and the fact that his brother got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes ( not something he created by eating poorly and other reasons like type 2 ) and was receiving all mom’s attention caused him to seek out attention by making up a head injury from a fall down the stairs. I’ve had two very serious head injuries in my youth and I was hospitalized for just under a week in the first one and nearly two weeks in the second. Although I was unconscious for days on the second injury and my parents were cautioned that I could have lost my sight, never once were they told I may need a colostomy bag one day or that I could become paralyzed. I can’t imagine that after being released from the ER and not hospitalized that anyone would “fall” for his report of all his devastating consequences from his fall.

To everyone asking how Cat wasn't suspicious of her boyfriend for the murder of his parents, I suggest a nice, lengthy break from true crime. Watch a comedy movie, listen to some relaxing music, take a vacation. Talk to people about a topic other than true crime. You'll soon come to realize that most people are not walking around ready to assume their boyfriend/husband/wife/neighbor/teacher is a murderer. You'll soon come to realize that most people don't assume the worst of everyone around them.
@sharonhoyt2133 Жыл бұрын
Anyone who has ever watched "Evil Lives Here" should know most family members never have a clue that their family member is a murderer. People really should not judge the innocents who are taken in by a family member or friend. Everyone can be "fooled" before they see the actions or evidence for themselves.

There's so many people in this trial that I find so compelling. William Brown is a fantastic prosecutor, comes across as extremely likeable, and the judge as well. Dulce, Cat's mother, seems like the sweetest woman I could ever hope to meet. All of Krista's friends are just a bunch of sweethearts. There's no dark underbelly to any of these people except Chandler, which makes it all the more horrifying.

@@TheNoonish I agree, but I find Dulce to be extremely strange. How is she and her daughter more distraught than the parents friends and family?! It's so weird to me. Not to mention the defense team. That was one weird opening statement coming from that lady. Bunch of gibberish about nothing. Pretentious and empty.
@TheNoonish2 жыл бұрын
@@themetamorphosisofgipsy It's not that weird to me. Dulce and Kat feel guilty because they bought into all of Chandler's lies. Krista's friends almost never spent time around him so they weren't exposed to it, and weren't emotionally invested in him, but Kat and her mom were. Moreover, Dulce missed him disposing of the body, which he'd been doing just minutes before hopping into the pool with her and her topless girlfriend. That's disturbing to be that close to something utterly insane. Similar for Kat-she slept in the Halderson's house three different times after they'd been murdered in the house and while their bodies were shoved into freezers in the basement. Those sorts of things aren't just tragic, they're traumatic, so when they're talking about this, it's still pretty fresh to them six months later. It's easier for the neighbors to grieve and cope. The only person who was oddly composed on the stand was Mitchell, IMO. But he also didn't have to face questions that were too sensitive because he wasn't actually a witness for anything significant. People who think Cat has some guilt in this feel like they haven't followed the narrative. She was completely deceived, she believed Chazz was injured which is part of why she was keeping such close tabs on him. I do find some things odd, but nothing is unbelievable.
@fitflik47842 жыл бұрын

I feel the interrogation detectives missed a vital question. If his dad was mad because he broke the fireplace glass, they should have asked “why wouldn’t your mother clean it up, or have you clean it up at that time before they left?”. I’m sure he would have said they were just wanting to get to bed so they could get up early, etc., but, it would have been worth seeing him squirm. Also, mom would have been worried the dogs would get in it to cut themselves, etc.. Chandler really is an idiot.
@stephaniejacobs12672 жыл бұрын
Totally agree...I was really bent by that not making sense. If his parents were alive, not leaving til Friday? So his parents allowed that mess of glass to remain there from Tuesday to Friday with their precious dogs running around? NOT!!!

How did you realize that he is an idiot? hehe

Also, the fact that he had several long seconds to tell the detectives what kind of ball broke the glass... and he answered that it was a TENNIS ball. Then a dog ball with a squeaker. Basically the 2 kinds of ball that would never break a fireplace’s glass- he could have said baseball or softball.
@80kokoro2 жыл бұрын
I believe it was on Wednesday that he claimed the dog ball broke the glass, still I very much doubt Krista would have been happy to leave that glass around from Wednesday to Friday even. Especially considering how protective she was of Chandler due to his “concussion”. Also he did seem to realise his mistake with the type of ball he had described and tried to correct this with his story about the dog hitting the glass with its shoulder when going after the ball, also quite an implausible story. He had a whole week to come up with this story and it’s still pathetic which makes me think he’s not the brightest narcissistic psychopath I’ve ever come across as a true crime fan.

I’ve watched most of this trial, all of cat’s interviews all the way through; and what I was wondering last night in bed (yes; this case has gotten into my head) is how we’ll never know how the situation played out after Bart sent that text, “I’m ready whenever you are”. Yes, the evidence shows he was shot in the back and dismembered. But what happened? How did it happen? Did Bart come downstairs and confront chandler and it escalated resulting in chandler getting the gun? Did chandler lay in wait and it was planned? I just wish I knew what happened next. The only person who knows is chandler. Look at his face in this interview. No matter how much of a sociopath he is, he had just spent days dismembering his parents, burning them in the fireplace, driving body parts all around. He looks exactly like that’s what he’d been doing. Just totally in that unimaginable place of disengagement and horror.
