I really like your rewrite of dotd, you just inspired me to make me own rewrite 1, belle gets a proper introduction and thomas is being a dick to percy, 2, Percy is pissed on how Thomas is treating him so he refuses to do work until BoCo arrives to ask him what’s wrong 3, BoCo asked Percy if he wanted to stay at the quarry with Bill and Ben, Percy then agrees 4, Diesel comes to the quarry early in the morning and kidnapped Percy and took him to the Diesel works 5, instead of characters like Den, Dart and Norman in the film, Splodge and Dennis replace them, anyways after diesel took him to the diesel works, Percy was greeted by unhappy diesels and diesel 10 who then asks him if he cares about thomas, percy says no 6 Diesel 10 raced away to kidnap Thomas and have him scrapped, Percy saw what he had done and tried to stop him, unfortunately Splodge coupled up to him from the front and behind, and took him away, the diesels started to take over sodor, while paxton raced off to get sir thoppham hat who then gets derailed by Splodge, after when things were getting good for the diesels sir thoppham hat arrives with every steam engine not in CGI, (characters like Murdoch, Molly, Neville etc) Diesel 10 and Class 40 got angry and demanded who called him when they saw BoCo, Bill and Ben pull up 7, Diesel 10 grabs sir thoppham hat with Pinchy and threw him at a wall, (breaking his bones) Splatter and Dodge were forced to derail and take Diesel 10 to brendom docks to have him sent away 8, Sir Thoppham Hat orders the Diesels to fix their mess while BoCo and Paxton get the day off, I hope my rewrite is as good as yours

Andrew Brenner would have done a film like that to bring Diesel 10 back to his full evil villainy and diesel domination on Sodor plans and fix Sharon Miller's poor writing on him if Mattel haven't deemed him too scary and keep him appearing in CGI after Season 17.

Incredible that Day of the Diesels has been around over 10 years and it might be very interesting of your rewriting I have seen skits on the movie I didn't even see it that much but if I do see it again I think I might think about it whether it's good or just plain average and your review was pretty good too and I'm going to be saying this but there are funny scenes in your review that are really funny 13:00 Overall pretty good review and I never know too much about the fan-made leaked footage I do remember some other fan contest to other do stuff like this and I do have to agree that the scene where the steam team are getting to the Steamworks is amazing and probably the best part of the movie.

Here is my rewrite: Percy was shunting trucks one summer day when some trucks were pushed on him and became a runaway. Unable to stop, he crashed into an old barn and started to burn. Belle arrived; she had only been on the island for three months. The Fat Controller was in charge of putting out the fire as Belle was putting out the fire. At that point, the movie's opening credits appeared in the sky. After the opening credits, Percy and Belle went to the Steamworks because Percy broke down and Belle ran out of water. Once there, the Fat Controller thanks Belle for her bravery but informs her that the Island of Sodor needs another fire engine. It is planned to bring Flynn over from The Mainland after Belle suggests him. He was teased by the engines, and Percy in his smokebox said "stop looking at me, stop seeing me, and stop pointing out everything about me" for nearly four months. However, Paxton has been more kind to him than the other steam engines, while Thomas has been even more so. Paxton persuades Percy to visit the Vicarstown Dieselworks instead of the Rescue Center where he is meant to bring Flynn's water hose. Percy chooses the track to the Dieselworks when he comes to the fork, despite Edward's warning that it is so rusty and ancient that it could fall at any time. Percy is made to feel very special at the Dieselworks by none other than Paxton. Paxton displayed to Percy all the diesels with wheels and a diesel with short-term memory loss named Sidney who is displayed, he also showed Den, Dart, Splatter, Dodge, and Sidney. Paxton replied that Dart can take the water hose in place of Percy, who wanted to deliver it. Because the steam engines had mistreated him, Percy took the decision to spend the night in the sheds with the diesel engines, which made Paxton unhappy. Flynn arrives at the docks the following morning and departs for the Steamworks. Everyone praises Flynn when Percy discovers him at the Steamworks. Flynn refuses Percy's request to join, saying that "only cool engines are in, you are not cool enough to come." The engines cheered when Flynn spilled tar Across Percy's eyes. Percy simply remained there after that, grinning, before declaring, "Heh, so that's how it is, heh, I've been so blind, there is no such thing as friends, all they do is take take take, no one is going to take anything from me anymore!" After Percy leaves, a diesel watches him. The following day, Percy got a fresh coat of dark green paint, new black stripes in place of the old ones, and a British in place of his old number 6 from the Dieselworks. Thomas is saddened by Percy's tendency to disappear into the background, stop smiling, stop interacting, and stop being there. Thomas visited the smelters one day and ran across Diesel 10. Thomas told Diesel 10 what had happened to Percy, and Diesel 10 then revealed his origins. The employees who built him thought he would be the pride of British railways, which made him happy and motivated him to keep working. Back then, he was an experimental engine used to assist other engines and load scrap.But eventually he went back to the Sheds. He discovers that another Diesel, who resembles him but has two black claws and gray and bronze paint, is in his shed. He is informed that Grim will take the position of Diesel 10, which has grown and developed. He leaves while still feeling quite upset and goes to work on Sodor. Thomas pondered and understood that Percy was in the dieselworks and aiding them, so he and diesel 10 sped off to the Diesel works after diesel 10 stated that Grim was imprisoned but other diesels wanted him to be set free. Percy went to the mainland to obtain the electric batteries in the interim. After being apprehended by the police, Percy fled when he saw a black cat with a bell. After following the black can, he came across a mirror and understood what he had done after not seeing himself in a while. Later, when he visited the diesel plant, the employees were just ready to install the batteries. When Thomas and Diesel 10 attempted to stop them, a large explosion occurred, completely destroying and setting fire to the diesel factory. The diesels were surprised when Grim woke up and said, "Long time no see, 10, and everyone, it is time to destroy. A lot of diesels but not Paxton raced by and some went to Knapford station and trashed it and other places. His claws tore down Knapford station, and he used fuel tankers to destroy the electric power plant. Percy yelled, "Guys, where are you?" since he and the other engines are unable to see. While the engines roared, Grim chuckled menacingly. "Leave my friends alone, It's me you want, you hear me," yelled Percy. Grim. How are you? Come on, get me out of here immediately, COME OUT! When the light came back on, Percy saw the rail engines and Grim, who was yelling that it was pathetic that you didn't fight me, come on, bring it. Grim was beginning to have the upper hand when Percy and Grim clashed, but an engine pushed several trucks, causing Grim to go off the rails. When Edward arrived, Percy said, "No, it was dangerous, Edward!" I won't forgive you for what you did to Sodor, Edward murmured. Since we are now in Percy's perspective after a major collision, we are unable to see anything; instead, all we can hear is Edward saying, "I'm sorry, Percy," to which Percy replies, "NOOOOOOOOO!" Percy managed to escape, but he ran out of coal. Paxton intervened, giving him a fresh coat of paint and getting the fire hose to Flynn while apologizing and extinguishing the fire. Percy returns with the black mark, gone, they were about to fight, but then Grim ran out of fuel, Percy pushed him off the rails, and when the driver emerged, it turned out to be Sir Topham Hat. He claimed that he was adopted and that he wanted to exact revenge on the people who had been making fun of him. Later, the people at the diesel works fought. Later, the police showed up and stopped him. They were able to fix all of the engines, including the diesel works at the opening and the Knapford, electric power plant, and generator was fixed. On Christmas, Percy and his driver were given a black cat for Christmas, which the driver kept as a pet. The bell that Percy acquired from the cat was afterwards known as Percy's lucky bell . Edwad came back and went back to being himself. All the engines wished everyone a Merry Christmas To all, and the narrow gauge engines in the hills sayed “and to all a good night.” We then went up into the snowy sky and said, "The End

I’m making a series where I break down and potentially rewrite each Thomas film and I’m excited to get to this one as I have a lot of ideas. I’m definitely gonna give a shout-out to yours because this was awesome! Def inspired by it too. Awesome video man!

I'm smelling a movie adaption of the idea

Here’s my rewrite: One summer day, Thomas and Percy are puffing along the tracks, until they spot smoke in the sky ahead. They find an old farmhouse on fire, with the Fat Controller overseeing the effort to extinguish the blaze. The fire brocade is running out of water and it seems like there’s nothing everyone could do. Thomas and Percy tell the Fat Controller that they have plenty of water and the firefighters and farmhands use the water from Thomas and Percy's tanks to fight the fire, and soon, the fire was out. The Fat Controller is proud with Thomas and Percy for helping to fight the fire but he says Sodor needs new fire engines, and tells the two engines to puff to the wash down and get cleaned up. But Thomas and Percy are low on water, but Toby puffs by and sees the two engines stranded. Thomas and Percy tell Toby about the fire and that they are low on water and Toby tells them that he will bring them to the Steamworks to get more water. When they make it to the Steamworks, Thomas and Percy are now full of water again. Thomas then remembers about the new fire engines that the Fat Controller was telling them about. The Fat Controller soon arrives at the Steamworks and tells them that the new fire engines are arriving next week. This excites Thomas and Percy. The next week, Thomas and Percy arrive at the docks to see that the new fire engines, Belle and Flynn, have arrived and the Fat Controller tells the two engines that they are to show Belle and Flynn around Sodor. Thomas, with Belle, and Percy with Flynn. During their tour around Sodor, Percy tells Flynn about his adventures he’s had on Sodor and Flynn tells Percy about his adventures on his old railway. That evening, Percy comes to the quarry to deliver slate to Brendan Docks. Along the way, it starts to get foggy and Percy can’t see where he is going. He passes a junction and goes down the left track. But the right track lead to the Brendan Docks. And the left track lead to the Dieselworks. Percy soon realises he is at the wrong place and starts to puff backwards towards the junction, but two diesels stop behind him and push him into the main shed if the Dieselworks. Percy is now inside the main shed of the Dieselworks, and the two diesels behind him were Splatter and Dodge. Then, in front of Percy, is the diesel all the Steam Engines feared, Diesel 10. Diesel 10 evilly says hello, and Percy is scared and desperate to escape. Diesel 10 refuses to let Percy go, and says that there is no use for Steam Engines anymore and says that Steam Engines are no longer useful and that he wants to take over Sodor. Splatter Dodge, Diesel, ‘Arry, and Bert then take Percy to their shed out back. Percy gets locked up into a shed which had cell bars on it. Percy yells at the diesels to let him out, but the diesels remained stubborn, and start teasing him and telling him about the future and the new outlook on diesels. “Help!” Percy cries. Later, at Tidmouth Sheds, Thomas is worried about Percy and he says that he should be back by now. The other engines are now getting concerned and worried. Once everyone falls asleep, Thomas begins to imagine what could’ve happened to Percy. He even imagines how his life would be without Percy. Next morning, Thomas tells the Fat Controller about Percy. The Fat Controller starts to get worried and tells Thomas to tell the other engines to go look for Percy and other engines will do their jobs for them. So Thomas tells the other engines to go look for Percy. The engines do so, and puff away. Later, Belle and Flynn were at the Search and Rescue Centre when Thomas arrives. Belle asks Thomas what is wrong, and Thomas tells Flynn and Belle about Percy being missing. Flynn and Belle start to get worried and team up with Thomas to find Percy. Back at the Dieselworks, Percy is still trapped in the back shed. Percy is really desperate to escape, but the diesels still wouldn’t let him go. Diesel 10 then shows up at the last minute and tells the diesels to find the rest of the Steam Engines to make sure they get scrapped. The diesels leave, and Diesel 10 gives Percy and evil smile, and says “I’ll deal with you later”. Percy yells out to Diesel 10 “You’ll regret this, Diesel!” But Diesel 10 ignores him and leaves the shed. Meanwhile, the engines are looking for Percy, but they can’t find him anywhere. Thomas becomes more and more worried. On the way, Thomas bumps into, you’ve guessed it, Diesel 10, with ‘Arry and Bert. Thomas is surprised that Diesel 10 is back and Diesel 10 tells Thomas what he said to Percy. Thomas tells Diesel 10 that what he said isn’t true and says that Steam Engines still running to this day and tells him that he will it dominate or destroy the Steam Engines. Diesel 10 then orders ‘Arry and Bert to take Thomas to the Dieselworks. As they roll away, Thomas yells out to Diesel 10 that he will never take over Sodor. ‘Arry and Bert take Thomas to the back shed at the Dieselworks and Thomas spots Percy in the shed with the cell bars. Percy is happy to see Thomas and demands ‘Arry and Bert to let him and Thomas go. And of course, ‘Arry and Bert do to opposite and trap Thomas into the shed with Percy. Diesel 10 arrives in the nick of time, and tells Percy and Thomas that there is nothing they can do to stop him from taking over the island. Thomas yells out to Diesel 10, “The Fat Controller will soon find out this! You’ll see!” Diesel 10 snaps his claw towards Thomas to shut him up. Then, by accident, sparks flew out, and hit oily paper. The oily paper starts to catch fire. Diesel 10 then tells Splatter and Dodge to watch over the two engines while he and ‘Arry and Bert find the other engines to turn them into scrap. Diesel 10, ‘Arry and Bert roll off into the distance, leaving Thomas and Percy stuck Splatter and Dodge. Thomas and Percy are feeling very scared and worried. Suddenly, Thomas, Percy, Dodge, and Splatter smell fire. The fire from the oily paper was getting bigger and bigger. Splatter and Dodge escape in fear, leaving Thomas and Percy behind. Thomas and Percy realise that there is nothing they can do. They look at each other sadly and Percy sadly says “Goodbye, Thomas” “Goodbye, Percy” Thomas says sadly. Thomas and Percy thought they were done for, but in the nick of time, Belle and Flynn arrive and put out the fire. Thomas and Percy are very relieved and they are released from their cell shed. Thomas then remembers that Diesel 10 and the diesels are trying to take over Sodor, and they had to race to the rescue. Percy tells Thomas that they will fetch their friends and defeat the diesels. Thomas, Percy, Belle, and Flynn gathered the other engines, and they all set off to find the diesels. Later, the diesels were all at Knapford Station and Diesel 10 tells them all his plan and the fact that these days, there’s no use for Steam Engines. Suddenly, the Steam Engines arrive and they are about to break out a brutal fight when Thomas speaks up. Thomas tells Diesel 10 that he will never take over Sodor and that Steam Engines are always useful. Just then, the Fat Controller arrives and is surprised to see everyone at the station. And when he sees Diesel 10, the Fat Controller is cross. He asks Diesel 10 why he is back on Sodor. Diesel 10 looks nervous and tries to tell him, but the Fat Controller is too cross to hear the story and tells Diesel 10 and the other diesels that their current behaviour is completely unacceptable. He then tells Flynn and Belle to send Diesel 10 to the Smelter’s Yard and to tell a group of workmen to make a new door with cell bars outside the smelting shed. Diesel 10 tries to tell the Fat Controller that he was only joking but the Fat Controller doesn’t believe him. He then tells the other diesels to stay in their sheds for 3 weeks to think about what they have done. Percy, and the other engines look at each other happily and the Fat Controller turns to the Steam Engines, and tells them, “I’ll speak to you all tonight”. The engines look confused. That night, the engines are at Tidmouth Sheds. Thomas and Percy tell the other engines about what had happened. The other engines were surprised and are happy they are alright. Just then, the Fat Controller arrives. Thomas and Percy tell him about Diesel 10’s plan and eat Diesel 10 said about Steam Engines being scrapped and replaced. The Fat Controller tells them that neither them or the other engines will be replaced by diesels and says, he will make sure they will stay really useful. The engines are so happy that they blew their whistles. Thomas and Percy look at each other happily. Days have now passed, and the Steam Engines have not worried about being replaced, and they kept being really useful. As for the diesel engines, they were kept in their sheds until they are wanted. As for Diesel 10, he is now locked in the Smelters Yard’s smelting shed. But no engines were happier than Thomas and Percy. Not only they worked together to stop Diesel 10, but are more happier to be friends forever.

I like Den, Dart, Sidney, Norman and Paxton, but I don't really care about Belle and Flynn (considered they did just about nothing with them!). If we got Den, Dart, Sidney, Norman, and Paxton, along with the originally planned characters of Dennis and Splodge, then this whole god forsaken movie could've been a hybridish of TATMR's DC dark and comical and maybe even HOTR's teamwork and setting differences aside themes

Belle’s design is actually not that far fetched. In the 1940s the Southern Pacific Railroad fitted four T-1 class ten-wheelers with water cannons to combat line side fires set by a spark from a steam locomotives or overheated brake shoes in California during the dry summer months. Unlike Belle these locomotives did not use their own water from their tender tanks, instead they would be pulling specially modified tank cars full of water. However the pump used to pump the water was on and powered by the locomotive.

Dennis, Splatter and Dodge were all planned to be in the movie but were cut because creating original characters would have meant more merchandising opportunities. Splatter and Dodge became Sidney and Paxton, and Dennis became Norman, hence why they all share the same basis as each other. I would have liked to see Norman come back, Splodge should have returned I think it was criminal to not have them especially since Diesel 10 was the main villain. They could have brought back all of the diesel characters, even Derek, along with new ones it could've been a big free-for-all. Using dieselization as the groundwork for the whole movie would have been a smart move. It would have been more faithful to the series and it would give the diesels a notable ax to grind instead of "oh my dieselworks is a sh*thole." Living in a sh*thole is terrible, yes, but like you said it's Diesel 10 we're dealing with. Going along with the dieselization idea I'd change Belle to be a regular tank engine escaping British Rail. She's just a plain big black tank engine escaping to Sodor from scrap. Flynn is the island's new fire engine but at the end he can't put out the big fire on his own, so Belle helps with her big tanks full of water. (Think like the Old Slow Coach episode in season 5). At the end Belle is honored for her heroism and quick thinking and Sir Topham Hatt buys her from British Rail to give her a home. She gets repainted and given her water cannons and stuff. She's not the island's main fire engine because that's Flynn's job, but she does the goods work for the rescue center and she helps out Flynn when needed. Splodge I think they could have taken Arry and Bert's place working at the quarry with Mavis because really Arry and Bert belong working at the ironwork smelters. Splodge are BR Class 08 shunters like Arry and Bert, it would give them a purpose and a chance to redeem themselves (who aren't really bad guys anyway), plus I'm reminded of that scene where they get covered in dust by Harold. Paxton and Sidney would've gotten used as normal, Norman and Dennis I would have liked to have seen, Derek I sure could've been used somewhere.

I will say that I don’t really dislike DOTD, And that the hatred is a little overrated . When I first watched it when I was 4 or 5 (aka the target audience) I loved it. But as a older fan, it’s not the best. Truly, I loved all of the movies until BWBA.

fun fact: this movie was to have a much darker older plot, but due to corporative plot convenience, they decided children can't feel anything but happiness, so they deemed it "too scary" and rewrote the entire movie into the garbage pile it is today.
