This is the sad truth. I have a neighbor for example who calls herself a dog mom but all I see is a person with dogs who never stop barking and never get walked or receive any kind of exercise. It’s an idiotic situation and not fair to the dogs.

Animals should serve a function at your home, not be accessories or furniture or surrogate children. But have a job that it does, guarding, herding, for riding, mousing, doesn't matter.

Yesterday I took my 2 month old daughter to the grocery store wearing one of those baby wrap carriers. One of the cashiers thought it was a puppy and I was like nooo it's a baby. My dog is at home xD Was so funny. I would never EVER put a dog in a carrier or a stroller xD. People are crazy these days.

I watched a reel on Instagram. Where a woman was holding her dog while her mom was there and the captain read "when your mom asks for grandchildren but you give her fur grandkids instead" and it showed the woman holding up her dog near her mom's face while the mom looked sad and disappointed. The woman was smiling and laughing btw. I'm not saying you should force anybody to have kids im saying it's wrong of her to taunt her mom like that.

I'm 29 and I'm childless, but not by choice. I just haven't come across the person I'm supposed to marry. I don't want kids until I'm married because I want them to have both a mom and a dad to come home to. I want a stable, happy life for them. I want them to know how men and women should treat each other.

Daughter was telling me about a woman she works with who just had a baby. Came back to work immediately with her dog! Put the kid in daycare, said she would never put her dog in a kennel. Asked daughter if she saw anything wrong with this, said everyone does it. Both women have advanced college degrees.

It is sad that women would purposely not have children and choose dogs instead. A friend of mine cannot have children, so she fosters children and of course she has dogs. Also, when you know people who cannot have children, it causes you to view abortion in much more negative way. It makes me sick that selfish women just kill their children, when other women are having to go through counseling while dealing with the pain of not being able to have their own.

My Girlfriend's unhinged obsession with her dog finally destroyed the relationship for good and I'm leaving. What a waste. I was absolutely ready to marry her and have children with her. But now she'll be 30 in a few months and she's alone. So stupid.

My aunt was a crazy dog woman for a long time. My uncle loves her a lot so he tolerated it lol She couldn’t have kids due to endometriosis She had four dogs at the most, and at one point spent over 15k to get her beagle back surgery. It died like five years later from cancer, one of its legs even shriveled up and fell off.

Reflects the remarkable changes (none for the best) that I have lived through (60 years) in the East Village. When I was a boy, every Saturday morning the streets would be filled with children running, laughing, playing, all day long. Now, Saturday mornings are deadly quiet. There are no children, no families. But there they are, all the 20-40 something hipster fucking jerks, with their dogs in the dog runs. Dog runs have taken over from children playgrounds, and dogs have replaced children. What a sick fucking culture.

He's got a point with having kids when you're younger. I grew up with my dad - he was around thirty when I was born. He could still box, go hunting, toss a football, do guy stuff with me. My brothers are the youngest - when they hit college he'll be in his seventies. You can guess just how non-active their childhood was in comparison to mine.

I've been banging this drum for a long time. We started when I was 25, and it took us almost 9 years and ultimately 3 rounds of IVF to have TWO kids, 6 years apart. And we had no known fertility issues. A woman's fertility begins to drop at 27, falls off a cliff at 35, and is practically nonexistent after 40, but NO ONE tells you that, until you see your first fertility specialist. ALL of the celebrities who have kids in their 40s use IVF, and the VAST majority of them use donated eggs. That's why everyone from Julia Roberts to JLo has twins. A woman is born with all of her eggs, and when they're 40 years old, so are their eggs, so they use eggs from younger women, but never tell anyone. That leads all the girls out there to think they have PLENTY of time to have kids, but the truth is, not everyone gets pregnant easily, it can take years. So if you want to be a mom, if you want to have more than one kid, and if you want your kids to be biologically yours, get started sooner than later. Or else, like a lot of women before you, you might end up unintentionally childless, and that is seriously heartbreaking, and so often very avoidable.

It seems like every single (as in unattached) white girl aged 25-45 in every major city or liberal dominated area has a fucking dog! Not only do they fawn all over these fucking dogs (in between yoga classes) but they require YOU as a potential love interest to feel the same way! "Must love dogs" has become these women's #1 requirement. I have seen perfectly nice dudes get dumped by these empty vessels for simply not acting like a 12 year old girl around their dog. Oh, and my other favorite thing? If you are not giddy over dogs that automatically means you "must hate all animals". But that's typical histrionic liberal billshit any way. I'm 25 with 2 kids, a great husband, a dog(adopting another once we move), 2 cats and we are about to buy a little house on 5 acres. I love that I had my kids early. When I'm like 40-45 they'll be graduating high school and I will still have the energy to travel and see the world if I really want to. I tried the whole modern view of how a woman should be when I was younger, it got me no where and in fact sank me into a pretty severe depression. I know there are women out there that want to party or don't want commitment and they don't understand why I do want to be with 1 man for the rest of my life and have kids. That's fine, to each their own, you know. But I know that the likelihood of me looking back and saying I wish I'd done things differently is nonexistent, at least when it comes to having my kids and marrying my husband. Ya kinda gotta point there... I've had two kids, paid my dues, but once they grew older and moved out, I replaced them with a couple of pugs, although I do NOT call myself mommy when speaking to them. Had I never had any children I would have gotten the dogs 20 years earlier.

I never wanted to have babies (and still with the same choice), however, dogs ARE dogs baby, not your kid.

You know I agree with you on pretty much everything and respect you a lot, but you go a bit overboard on the whole "women need to have babies! Being a mother is the best thing in the world! Blararargh!" I guess I may be one of the few, but I was never interested in partying, and I never will be. (I'm in my early 20's) I don't want to have children, and I do baby my rescued pit-bull, but that doesn't make me a bad person and it doesn't make me stupid for not wanting to have kids. It's not so much overpopulation I'm worried about, but it's the state of the world and what I see it's coming to. My husband and I don't mind spending our lives focused on each other and our careers over having a child and one of us putting those things on hold. People call us selfish, but who cares? At the very least I'm not a feminist attacking male masculinity and the nuclear family and crying about the patriarchy on a constant basis. Also, you only need to watch the news and see the countless women murdering their young children to prove that not every person on the planet should have kids.

Boy me and my boyfriend would drive Gavin nuts. While we are both 31 year old millennial that lean conservative and can't stand SJWs, neither us of want kids and want dogs instead of children. :D Due to life circumstances neither of us have been successful in our career paths wouldn't have enough to take of kids. We just live a simple life in apartment in a town with both wish we could move out of but we cannot find any opportunities to get out. And no, I haven't been brainwashed, I've loved dogs and cats as long as I can remember and I don't get all "gaww" when seeing babies at all. Actually I remember when I was about 21 and I had a cousin who had an baby at the time and she started changing diapers and the living room I was grossed out to hell. Picking up dog poop isn't as bad as is changing a baby's diaper that's for damn sure. I also get grossed out to hell when babies spit up and puke (though for the record I'm not good with dogs who drool a lot either). I also admit to I've pretty much never liked the thought of having babies since I was a kid because my mom told me how painful it is to give birth and I do not have a high pain tolerance. My boyfriend has a different look on it not wanting to bring innocent new life is this very messed up world. I have a very pessimistic view of things and thing western society is gonna die in a few more generations or so (like we may actually be coming up to the "end times"), so I don't want to bring any life to face that hell. Even with the both us feeling this way, I have nothing against the traditional family. For those who want to marry and have children go for it! Want to be a regular housewife? I won't shun you for it at all, some women are betting suited for just being home and raising kids instead of going out into the workforce. I actually do agree with Gavin on one thing: for those who do want to have children, don't put off marriage and stating a family for too in order to take advantage or the fertility during the 20s age. Soooo I just wanted to get all that off my chest after seeing some of Gavin's "get married and five kids to be happy videos". While his views may apply to some of we are happy being with ourselves and having pets. P.S. While we both love to go outdoors and enjoy our beautiful state, nothing will stop up from playing video games occasionally :P

My parents had me late, my mom was 39 and my dad was 50, but I'm the youngest of 4. The one thing that I know is always lurking is that if I want to make my dad proud, I'll have to do it young. By the time I'm 25 my dad will already be 75 years old. I plan on having kids between 28-34 or somewhere in there so i can get quality time with my kids while I'm still somewhat young.

My mom gave birth to me at 49. She gave birth to my older sister at 44. Both have autism. Upside: I have a 4.89 GPA, and my sister goes to Cornell. . I know my mom only has approximately 30-40 years left on her based on the fact that my grandma is 101 (my mom is 65 and I’m 16, so she’s old enough to be my grandma). I think your very correct on this. I suffer from autism (as mentioned above,) so sometimes it’s hard to socialize with other kids. I’m very weird in the since that I found building things and solving things to be cool, instead of playing/socializing/hanging out with other kids.
