I'm a big horror fan and most horror movies don't creep me out but this one did. It sent chills down my spine. This is a classic film of art tony todd crushed it.

There's 2 TALES: 1992: The "Candyman" was named for being a man covered in honey, the "candy" of the late 1800's. 2021: The "Candyman" was just a guy who sold candy to children, but racist cops accused him of putting razor blades in them and killed him, and predictably, he was resurrected the "rebooted" legend, himself.

Technically, he survived, but he lived the rest of his life as a eunuch (a man with no testicles). But on the bright side, some men who become eunuchs like having no testicles, due to wanting to be religiously single. Since testicles are a reproductive organ used for men to help fertilize eggs for women, during impregnation.

I always wondered what Bernadette was actually seeing as she was murdered. Was it candyman as we saw it? Was it her own best friend Helen coming at her with a knife? Things like this I still think about, that's what the movie did it opened your imagination to various dark possibilities.

@@barrymchugh4490 Save your time and energy. It sucked. Jordan Peele can't do horror movies. And this should've been left untouched.. Yes, its true, Tony Todd had but a small cameo. But it followed the chronological order of the original film, as the main character was "technically" in the originals. Don't want to spoilers

@@NobleCloverVA yes they are, those are bred for wild hunting, same as boxers, bulldogs, pitbull and many others, with huge muscular heads, there are multiple fatal casualties that got killed by many of these vicious dogs that went crazy without reason and killed innocent kids and even adults, in many cases their own masters, so these dogs are only suited for countryside places, way far from crowded cities; and if they ever need to get into the citiy they MUST have a muzzle and a heavy steel leash driven by a suited person, capable of handling that beast

It's fully explained in the sequel Farewell to the Flesh in a flashback. He was a slave who was murdered for having a relationship with a white woman. He was covered in honey by the townspeople and stung to death by bees. They sawed his hand off prior.

Candyman has the feel of a boogeyman used to scare children like a "Now you stop being bad or Candyman will get you!" Type thing. I think that's what it was going for. A street level entity that frightens a neighborhood.
