I like how innocent light is when he loses his memories compared to how he is when he gains them back, his character has a lot of depth. Even though I disagree with his views when he’s Akira I can’t help but root for him because he’s such an interesting villain

He is not doing this for the good people in the end, he's doing this to satisfy his ego. He would be a self-sacrificing, honest, decent person, if he, first: didn't wanted to become the god of the new world, and second: didn't killed any inocents.

he was a good guy, dispose to do what is necessary to bring a better world, it calls sense of responsibility, it calls dispose to do bad things for good things. You will never understand that until you're in position to be the only person who is able to save millions of people. When you go to a war someday you'll truly understand Kira.

I always hear people say that end doesn't justify the means. While I tend to agree, Light gave me a new perspective. Just think about it, if the system we have is perfect why we still have so many crimes in the world. Can you say the government we have is without flaw? Do you really think there government have never punished an innocent man? We all say Light is crazy, but he got results. True results. Unlike any government that ever existed. Light is a truly magnificent character.

Because in the end we saw whatLight became. He became power hungry, arrogant, and self righteous. The old saying “the end does not justify the means” is not without merit. The greatest of atrocities of man have been under those pretenses since the first men killing each other, justifying themselves that their means were justified. Be warned of that siren call, for head of you or your loved ones could be next on the chopping board for the “end”.

@@GenUrobutcher End can never justify the means because an act of Evil is considered nothing more than a shortcut and evil does nothing but gives birth to destabilty which gives birth to more Evil if you use shortcuts to achieve anything the destability you caused in the way will return to you like an echo and destroy you. In other words Even if you are to achieve an end which perfectly fits your planned Perfect End if you achieved that end by means of Evil that evil you commited will came back and destroy the very perfect end you imagined and worked very hard to create So in easier words Your end cannot be perfect if means of achieving it are wrong if your want your end to be perfect than you means to achieving it must also be perfect

This show was incredible. The last half gets a lot of unwarranted hate, sure it wasn't as good as the first 25 episodes but still better than 95% of tv. 12 years later and 45% of the fanbase is angry L died, another 45% of the fanbase is angry Light died and then there's the other 10% that realise the show wouldn't have worked if there wasn't the stakes of 'anyone' being able to die.

Sadek Miah There are theories where Near used the Death note to make Mikamai Make that mistake, because Mikamai never faulted until that moment. Near didn’t have feelings because he was autistic and just didn’t feel emotions so he wouldn’t have cared about killing him

Wow. Just wow.... During a time when making AMVs was becoming a lost art, you have been making masterpiece after masterpiece. Words can't describe how well-made your videos are. They each bring out the best of the characters they're made for. Well thought out and masterfully done, your passion is visible for all to see.... Death Note was such an integral part of the whole community and my anime viewing in general. One of the best gateway animes out there, it has helped me change the view of so many of my friends who usually see anime as just "cartoons" or "hentai". A universally acclaimed genius of a show, your video managed to capture everything that made the show so great. Kira was a tragic hero, the best example of " you either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain..." Thank you for making such an awesome video. I hope you keep releasing such masterpieces in the future.

As one of my first manga/anime, it's amazing how you bring to me so much nostalgia. I used to love him so much during the first part, because he was not really a jerk, not too much arrogant or didn't really wanted the power. He was, for him atleast, and in my eyes, a man of Justice. But after the death of L, he became what he originally despise the most, imo. And you show perfectly how mad he became with a few seconds : 6:03 to 6:14, the moment when he breakdown and expose how bad he is. A masterpiece like always.

Ik it's your opinion but Light actually erased any notion of him being a man of justice the moment he decided to kill even officers and innocents just cux they got in his way. And he declared himself 'god' while L was still alive and no one can deny that that's the epitome of arrogance and whatnot. My point is, he was no better, morally, during the first part than he was during the second part of DN...

Light was always a jerk, arrogant and power hungry. He declared himself the God of the new world just days after getting the death note. Him wanting justice was just a cover up of his real motivations: power and control, that's all he wanted. Oh, and because he was bored, that was other of his big motivations. He always manipulated people, used their weaknesses to his advantage, Misa is a great example of how big of a jerk Light was and all that happened in the first half. In the second half he spiraled down just as almost every serial killer does, he was in a point where he already thought of himself as invencible, untouchable, which only made his flaws, that were always there, to show in a greater scale, to be more noticeable. But in my eyes that's exactly what makes him so appealing as a character, he's realistic and shows consistency with how a real psychopath who happens to be serial killer works in the real world. He feels human and that's why, as a character, I love him. In the first half Light shows more control over himself because he's in a situation where he has the control, in the second half he's more erratic and evil because he's in a situation where he doesn't have total control, he's at the whims of Near and Mello, not even L threatened him like those two did, that's what makes him go havoc. Light was never a man of justice, but at least he stopped war and reduced the worldwide crime rate at a 70%, so he did something good despite being a jerk. He's a great character, a greater villain, and the second half just further proves that.

I don't think that light was wrong. His intention was correct, but the way he carried out his plan was wrong. He was right in thinking of killing all the criminals and making the world a better place to live in. I agree with his thinking and to be honest, if I found d a death note, I would do the same.

@@matguz1925 "watashi" is like a common way of saying "I/me". Women are the ones who use this word the most, but men can also use it. "Boku" is a slightly more formal way of saying "I/me", and it is a word used only by men.

@@juliaevelyns you're somewhat wrong. watashi is a formally-used neutral and informally-used female pronoun, and here, although the context is informal, L's emotionless nature makes him use watashi instead of boku. Boku is always informal, and masculine and needless to say it's emotive

Light thinks that his mind is the absolute source of right . He doesn't question his desires, instead he tries to find good arguments to support them . I mean we can't judge him for his intention because it's totally good and logical but the only wrong thing is he didn't practice it the right way .
