Thanks Bob. Since posting, I’ve caught a bunch of flack because I didn’t pull those clips instead of removing the nuts on the rod in front. It is true that pulling the clips is quicker but the rod is under pressure so be prepared for a more difficult reassembly if you go that route.

3 points: 1: If you've got a video of removing that deck in 30 seconds, please post it, given of course that you post it alongside a stopwatch and don't speed up the video. I'd actually like to see it. 2: Getting the deck off in record time was not the instructional goal of this video. Ease of removal and replacement was the goal, however; getting the deck off is one thing, replacement is another. 3: I disagreed with your statement as soon as I read it but went outside and shot another short video to prove my point and am willing to post it. I already knew what my video proves: yes you can pop the pins out quickly after removing the rue clips, that's not the issue. I let the deck all the way down to position 1, just like in the first video, and removed the deck belt. Even then, as soon as you remove the rue clips and pop the pins out, the deck moves down and backward from the pressure of having the front of the deck being suspended by the bar. Of course, on reassembly, you can't get the pins realigned with the holes because, with your hands you can't pull hard enough on the bar to raise the front of the deck back up. I struggled while my feet were pressed against the front tires pulling on the bar as hard as I could, with no success. The only way I was successful was to slide a brick under the front of the deck with one hand while struggling to raise the deck with the other (no small feat). I then pulled on one side of the bar, then the other to re-attach it. While I appreciate your comment suggesting an easier way, it wasn't easier for me.

Why's that? Simply cause I didn't use the clips?

M155368 is 5/8" X 189.45" while the M154958 is 5/8" x 111". Quite a difference. Remove the old belt if it's not already broken and measure. You should be able to come close to the length of one of these.

I have found that just because I buy new ones doesn't necessarily mean they're sharp believe it or not.

You are correct, but my method is the best for me as the cotter pin/clevis route causes my J-hooks to jam.
