A simple exercise for experiencing the edges of your peri-personal space. You learn to center yourself through easy breathing, and use the motion of pushing to create space inside and around your body. You can "push away" without creating stress or tension inside your body. (FYI, the workshop has passed!)
00:11 INTRO: Fundamental embodiment practice to support healthy boundaries
01:40 PREPARE: Set up pillows to push on your couch
02:29 SETTLE: Sit back on your couch and begin practice
03:00 BREATHING: Practice to center, outbreath slightly longer
03:55 ROOTED ROCKING: Gentle side-to-side movement to widen available space
04:42 SETTLE: Gentle grounding into support below you
05:18 CONTACT: Hands contact pillows at your sides, let go of bracing before starting push motion
06:00 PUSH: Expansive push, arms away from center, pelvis dropping down, head releasing up
07:00 RELEASE: Release push, staying open and spacious and claiming your peri-personal space
08:00 CLAIM YOUR SPACE: to feel calm and breath easily, we often need to establish our personal space clearly

OK, this was a really good one for me because I often have people "in my space" that keep me from mentally creating space. I think I can use this to create "a space" around me that's impenetrable. Plus, I love that the little decoration near the window behind you matches the sofa pillows and your clothing. I do notice odd things!
