DEER TRAPPED IN THE FROZEN CANAL - Narrowboat inspired by nature VLOG 78

My home is trapped in the ice, and its sub zero temperatures inside inside and I make attempt to rescue a deer from the ice. I'm entertained by mother nature, dancing leaves on ice and a touch of hoar frost. A Kingfisher guided me to moor up at this isolated mooring. Wonderful and tranquil winter scenes down on the canal and mindfulness moments.
The Journey started here... I once lived in the fast lane of life, happily married of 26 years, with two children. That chapter was suddenly shattered by the sudden loss of my wife to cancer, which led me in to depression and homelessness. Waking up in hospital, after attempting to take my own life, with just a suitcase, kayak and bicycle and no money, I've managed to rise up out of the darkness and find happiness and continue my next chapter.
I'm a self taught film maker, and creating these vlogs, it gives me something to do, share my personal experiences as I continue my journey cruising and living life on the canal. Please do consider supporting my channel below... Thank you Dave

The view of the Frost. The dancing beauty of the leaves. That Robin calling. He must have known the dilemma of that deer. And the final escape from the canal. Incredible! There is nothing quite like rescuing wildlife in danger, attempting what you can with what you have available, and the relief and gratitude when they are safe again. I’m so happy this ended well. Sometimes it doesn’t, and knowing you did all you could helps with the grief of loss.

The lesson I take from this video is the reminder to be aware and in the moment. The Universe communicates with us all the time; the trick is to spot it. Would YOU interpret the flight of a Kingfisher as a sign of guidance? This led to Dave being there, and his part in the deer's escape. Thank you Dave for another excellent visual and aural delight.

Your filming is so evocative. It reminds me of how so many wonderful poets and writers came from the British Isles and what their inspirations were to write such wonderful works. I think living in a city we can often forget how much beauty we have around us in our own country. I feel blessed to now be living in South Yorkshire and surrounded by the majesty of the Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales. Dave! You are an inspiration! I hope to be doing just as you are in 5 to 10 years time! I have a few questions for you, I hope you will have the time to answer: 1. Is there somewhere I can find all of the camera and video equipment that you use? I would love to equal the quality of your footage when I am living on my narrow boat! 2. As a singer, I would love to be able to sing, but do not play any instruments myself. Do you have any recommendations for the ability to access or resource background music? 3. Just curious if narrowboaters go south on the canals to avoid really cold winters?

Sorry, I dont know the answer to your question. But it can be as cold down south as up north, and the canals can still freeze over after a few days of sub-zero temperatures. On average, it's only a few degrees warmer in the south. 🙏
