She had to calm both down and reassure them. This is why a lot was unsure about putting both through back then but Nicole stood by them. The show just didn't show everything she did for them. They did make it seem like he favors the other guy w/ them but Nicole had always said in her interviews even before he won that her favorite is James for his artistry. James has always said that it was Nicole that was always on his side. Even after the show when the management almost drop him & just brush him aside for Ella it was Nicole who stuck with him like a real mentor even if she did not habe to anymore as the show is over. So many years later, and he’s still my favourite contestant ever. He had the ability to make every song his own, no matter what genre. For example, considering that he didn’t like the way he looked, it was extremely brave to chose that LMFAO song ‘Sexy and I Know It’. Not only would it be difficult to make the lyrics believable if you dislike your looks, but JA’s rendition is also incredibly different to the original. Cherry on top is, that he actually came across as rather sexy when he sang it. Through his journey on X factor, there wasn’t a single performance that I even remotely thought of as average. He’s not one of those karaoke contestants that sound exactly like the original. He’s a true musician.

Do you know when someone sings a song that you don't know and you just think is boring because you don't know? This guy can sing a billion songs that I don't know and I'll love all of them because he's the one singing it

I stopped watching X factor after he won. Just because you can’t top that. He is one in a million. Just because you can feel how much he’s singing for his life. I’m so glad he sorted himself out and is still making music ❤️

You did a great thing to yourself, no one could really match James. But you should look at the 2018 winner Dalton Harris. He was great too, not as good as James imo. Also, he did his winner's single with James.

Same. He was the best to ever do it, no one could ever compare. And it certainly wasn’t worth watching after he won. He came he conquered and he delivered

Already got tickets to see him on tour in 6 months and can't wait. The amount of times I've seen him live is unreal, he's got a voice that you can never tire of hearing, just pure, raw, natural talent. Can't tell you the amount of times I've watched his story too, I'm a fan. Funnily enough Ella Henderson who he was in the bottom 2 with is another of my fave artists who I can't get enough of and have watched her journey too many times over! Back to James though, what a legend!

My favorite thing about him is that he’s not even doing it for the fame. He does it because he loves it. He’s able to express himself through music. He doesn’t even know he’s a natural. He gets so into the music that he becomes the music. I never have to worry if he’s prepared or not for a song because I know he loves what he does so much.

Oh my word, I've just now for the first time heard this guy sing on our local radio station KFM in Cape Town, South Africa and the song is "Say You won't Let Go" . Oh WOW, he has an amazing voice, such heart felt talent and I had to Google who he is and everything the judges say about him on X Factor is spot on. What a naturally talented artist. Well done young man.🤩

4 years ago I decided to overcome all of my fears and go start sing in the streets just because I always wanted to be a singer and I never had the confidence to do so. Before that decision I was searching for inspiration and I always loved James but I never learned his story. I searched about him and the xfactor here on KZfaq and I found this video. Throughout the whole video I found myself in him, and surprisingly even the story of mine is close to him and I was crying for an hour til this video ended. After watching this video I started to listen to more of his songs and then I decided to grab my guitar, go sing in the streets and started to write songs. After 4 years of me getting sore, getting tired, tears, blood and dealing with life and sacrificing myself just so I can be a singer, last monday I got a call from The Voice of Greece and they wanted me to audition for them. I went to audition for them a couple of days later and they loved it. I'm about to go for the blind auditions that they air on tv and I'm feeling so much anxious and I watched this video again to remind me of how I started and how far have I become. James has always been my inspiration and right now this video made me cry because dreams can happen and in the moment that you think that there is no more hope, that's when the surprises happen! And that what exactly happened to me to! The call last monday from the casting of Voice gave me hope and made me realise that I have value!I really hope that I'll make it after the blind auditions! I watched this video for inspiration again and I'm just gonna go there, put my soul out and just give every word a meaning and not think about anything! Thank you the uploader for this video and thank you James Arthur for existing! You're my fucking hero! 🙏🏻

They knew he struggled with drugs and sounds like a mess that his parents/household was, just speculating, because to leave to get away from your parents..I hope 2018 they are all doing well, this was interesting video.
