I didn't even realized that freedom sworn was (assumingly) supposed to be the signature weapon for Jean until you pointed that out from one of the early trailers. The fact that Hoyoverse sweeps something as major as rushing a weapon that was supposed to be for a character is appalling. Dehya really is the pinnacle of all of Hoyoverse's mistakes that they refuse to acknowledge, and it goes to show when they refuse to fix her and just slap her onto the standard banner and call it a day

Day 1 player here and you just read into my mind. I completely agree with you. The workforce allocated to genshin has to release not only a new continent a year, a new zone every 3-4 patches (with all the puzzles, quests and what not, which in itself is already pretty impressive) but also new characters (balancing them with present and future interactions in mind) and game modes, including events (which are at the bare minimum at best). Intead of putting more into their factual good horse, they just decided to turn it into a cash cow and invest in other projects instead. Also let me add my little piece to the conspiration theory. This is just my hot take. Even dendro reactions are kinda overtuned, expecially hyperbloom. They managed to create a reaction so broken that the best use case for a C0 Raiden now is not to build her the way she was intended to (even if you have her weap R1) but full EM as an E bot to trigger the blooms. I don't think that they intended this to be a thing and just went overlooked.

Dehya turned out to be so bad, mostly because the whole of other issues present since early game, converged on her and made her even worse, like the missing of NA hits when the button is pushed fast enough, the horrible autotarget, terrain elevation stuck, etc. Then there is the balance and her personal issues too. Why take her when shields and healers are a thing and she brings nothing to the table, bad multipliers allaround, signature weapon not working properly with her c6, it's just ridiculous. And now her dedicated artifact set, which im convinced it was for someone else until they noticed they had to do something because they realised how bad she was or to have some damage control tool at hand. Damn i didn't meant to rant but i just love her character so much and the way they treated her was a damn shame

Due to what they did to the character (hyping her up for several months only to kick her down in mere minutes), Iansan might follow in her stead. Players who still went all-out to C6/R5 her & her weapon are one of the reasons for why Hoyo does these things and doesn't even communicate about the negative feedback for the character.

Oh my god thank you so much for making a video about it, this issue has been living on my mind rent free and it just makes me happy to see more people talking about it! The problem is far from just being Dehya, since Yoimiya and Yae Miko hoyoverse has been making strange decisions.

A really good view on situation. I hope they learn from their mistake and won't release as broken character as Dehya, that's all there is to it. If there is anything they can do it is to release a SPECIFIC artifact set that can practically work only on Dehya, but thats not solving the core problem. So let's just hope i guess?

you know what puts the cherry on the cake??? that they will do absolutely NOTHING to fix anything broken in the game bc for some abnormal and stupid reason that nobody knows they will not do anything to offer a better playability on the characters that need some tweaks and with that, Dehya will sadly still be as useless as she is know i hope that some day some guy comes directly to ma comment to insult me saying that i was wrong and HV fixed her

I think Dehya's design and the philosophy behind it is absolutely intentional. Her only purpose is to add further lose conditions to 50/50 and standard banner pull scenarios (because Qiqi was not enough). It's not gambling if every outcome is a win. Take it from a guy who is still hoping to pull Tighnari and got Dehya from standard the minute her limited banner ended. I wouldn't be surprised if they weighted her higher than all the OG 5 stars. At least now I have a 5 star level 1 paperweight that can proudly wield the Bell.

If she at least was a good pyro applicator, we could have an alternative to xiangling and have more pyro teams available.

People still playing Genshin? Hasn't there been a drop at some point or is it going steady? Because the amount of BS they keep pulling is staggering! I'm not even keeping an eye out anymore (aside from random recommendations, such as this one).. and with their new game coming out, I swore they would just give up on Genshin (because I'm sure they are NOT fixing anything that is wrong with it and moving on)

If they feel they have to put out huge amounts of content so fast just to keep players interest, they’re wrong. We would wait longer if it meant things would make more sense and the game was better put together. Rushing mediocre content is gonna make us drop the game faster than we would if we waited longer for excellence instead. Now with star rail out, I fear that’s not gonna happen.

I rlly dont care for the characters one bit anymore. I have bigger issues with their overall game design. The progression system is self explanatory, the quests being tedious is a given and events being boring is only half the problem. The biggest problem is the MAP itself. They marketed this as an exploration game didnt they? So why on earth does the exploration suck the most out of everything else. Think about it, when you enter a new region, what awaits you? The first thing you see is 99% a chest and another annoying collectable. This company just scatters stuff all over the map like assassin's creed and call it content. It was ok during release because they're uncertain of their success but what about now? Making billions just to pump out more garbage? Decided to make concerts and develop other games when your most popular game sucks ass? What the hell. It's obvious they just want money and there's no passion on the genshin team so why are we still giving them our money? I feel like an idiot spending in this game during the early days but these idiots out here are paying 50x my amount and to this day, still throwing money at them. So what did they get? They got Baizhu and Dehya. Ya fun right?

Mihoyo game character design since GGZ are notorius to be hit and miss, just seach it yourself there is hefty documentaries about it not even upcoming game can avoid such fate. Like you said in previous video about they have alot of budget they clearly don't have the effort in their character design aspect despide the amount of money and time they can do. The sad reality is the dev is rather lazy than being overworked (probaly the geographic design might be an exception) they don't want Zhongli incident happen again so they clearly put her on standar banner to avoid and as an excuse. This entire incident sadly will make people more trusted with leaks rather than making them not trusted which something the dev are so desperately try to shut it down till now.

11 months later, despide there is Furina and artifact that rely on losing and gaining hp Dehya is still underwhelming due to her confusing kit.

I was really looking forward to Deyha, but she's just... garbage. She's broken on a conceptual, design-space level. No numerical tweaks will fix her. I dunno who thought a character's schtick should be "taking constant damage", without like... some kind of seriously busted benefits and synergies with taking damage or storing mitigation to ramp your own multipliers, but here we are. Chroma from Warframe is actually kind of a decent way to look at that sort of thing. Vex Armor more or less increases your damage multiplier based on damage taken, thus giving a risk reward curve that encourages you not use shields that much.

She was the _perfect opportunity_ to showcase how to burning/burgeon but somehow completely missed that.

Completely Agreed Genshin Dev Team really didn't know why some character kit signature weapons passive kinda work, some passive not same with people who make concept of weapon didn't match the characters realated colours, designs, etc. Just pull from for get DMG Boost, C6R5 Kinda fix Any characters just grind hard or Swipe credit Card.

I use Dehya to run faster during the day, Xiao to lower stamina consumption while climbing, Heizou to lower sprinting stamina consumption, and Bennet because he's the best character in the game. I run fast with enough competency to fight random trash. I hate anything that isn't overworld exploration, which I do only to vibe and mildly cure my boredom.

Now, in version 4 they release more OP characters, lmao.... I should never spend in Genshit

Do I regret pulling Dehya you bet do I regret having her on my account definitely not and all fixes for her are amp up the damage from her e and na, speed up coordinated attacks from her e and take the entire burst damage make it a nuke with a stance change that gives her a pyro infusion. BAM fixed dehy and basically made her an Albedo, Zhongli and Raiden fusion pyro character.

Can i just say the sumeru quest was AMAZING 🙏🙏🙏 like i could go on and on about how The "Samsara of the Sabzeruz Festival" quest was mind blowing. it almost felt scary and ominous like a movie with time travel and all that, plus the emotion you develop for the characters is so intense. Nahidas character is one of the best archons, we're repeatedly shown how Nahida feels she isnt a good archon and cannot live up to the greater lord. That emotion builds up inside of you and towards the end of the quest when she hugs the greater lord goodbye, i couldnt help but cry with her. It was an emotional one for sure. Not to mention SCARAMOUUUCHEEE AAAAAAA 🛐🛐🛐. Not only did we get backstory ("the first to betray me was a god..my creator..my..mother") BUT WE GOT WANDERER TOO?!?!?! PLOT TWIST? HELLO? the quest was jaw dropping, worth all the pain and endurance of the quests in inazuma, worth unlocking all the damn sumeru desert waypoints, worth mutliple attacks from bosses idc abt. I have no idea how mihoyo plan to top Sumeru with Fontaine. So far the Fontaine map is gorgeous tho, ive unlocked it already and the swimming underwater feature is 🙏🙏🙏. Have yet to do the archon quest but i must say the hydro archon is mommy and you will see me grinding for her banner. Anyways thats all, not rly relevant to the video but yk 😭 I personally was never excited for dehya, her role in the story wasnt as important either, i only felt anything towards her when she practiced her sword and kept showing motivation, thats about it. Respectfully 😔

Not saying you're wrong about your theory but Kazuha's signature wep (the one from his storyquest) works great for kazu main dps which is really good (and also uses the shimenawa set). And also, you're forgetting the elemental reaction dmg from dehya: overloaded, melt, etc. when comparing her with albedo which doesn't produce extra dmg, since crystalize only creates shields. Overall, she's not a bad support character at all, she's just bad as a main dps or sub dps (that's where the majority of players are complaning from). Throw on her the tenacity of the milelith set, level up her elemental ability talent and you're good to go! : )
