Just a few notes. The system has more storage options - the aforementioned 256GB, 512GB, but also 1TB, 2TB. Also 5540 features dual storage capability, and the secondary SSD can be either 512GB and 1TB option. Also there are two battery options, both are 3cell, but one is 42Whr and the other one is 54Whr. Power adapter comes also in 3 options, 60W ultralight, 65W the standard AC adapter and 100W, ar all USB-C. The material used on lid and bottom cover is carbon fiber reinforced plastic, so it is sturdier than standard ABS plastic. DDR5 memory is tied to Intel P28 CPUs - so i5-1340P, i5-1350P and i7-1370P. On the other U-class CPUs you get DDR4. Both memory types can be upgraded to 64GB.

Thank you for the short review that gets straight to the point. I was mostly interested in seeing the internals of the laptop, thing that you've clearly shown in the video. Keep up the good work!

Will it support 130W power adapter, can I use the Dell 130W USB-C charger for this model (5540), or it will support only upto 100W charger?

Hows the touch display of this model? I ordered that one but waiting for delivery

We have tested non touch version. However, I do not think that touch option will be aby different from previous versions.

My dell 5540 i5 13th gen doesn't recognize my ssd m.2 ngff I used in my old computer.
@Laptopnuts Жыл бұрын
most likely your old SSD is not compatible with your new laptop. To my opinion M.2 is very complicated as there are quite few versions and some of them ( even if they looks the same) will not work on some machines.

It's always good to have a laptop with dedicated graphics card for video editing.

Man what are you talking about? I just got this machine and I hate the huge track pad. Also, it doesn't have separate mouse buttons, whole surface is touch sensitive, so if you keep one finger on the left mouse button and use other to drag the bloody thing does pinch to zoom or is stuttering on the screen! Also, they removed one usb port, so if you use logitech mouse receiver, then you only got one usb a port left. If I wanted no ports I would buy mac book. On normal laptop i want plenty ports and decent keyboard. Oh by the way, there is power button where the delete key used to be. And no seperete arrow keys. If I paid my money for it it would go back straight away

@@jackalek Did you find an alternative? I never considered the lack of touchpad mouse buttons
@jackalek5 ай бұрын
@@thunderstar254 sorry mate I didn't. It is work provided machine so no really a choice. I basically don't use the keyboard and touch pad of I can avoid it. In the office I plug into dock station where I have dual screen setup and proper mouse and keyboard. and when I'm in the field, I use logitech travel mouse. It's a shame most manufacturers is trying to copy apple. Stick plenty ports on it, and stick these on both sides of the machine. Give me decent keyboard with separate arrow keys and home end page up page down keys. It is doable, precious generation was much better keyboard and track pad wise.
