This video title is deceiving. You did not find a fix, you simply started using the usb for charging. There I saved you over 5 minutes.

And if your ac adapter quits working the usb-c will follow. Also if buying a usb-c charger it has to be Dell or they'll cap it at 65W, even if it says 90 or 130W. JUNK. Fixing this POS and selling it

Thanks so much for making this, I had tried everything with my Dell XPS 15 (9560) replaced the motherboard, the ac adapter, the battery and even the ac 130w cable, none made a difference, If I plugged in my battery to the motherboard then it would not boot, the bios would not recognize my ac wattage either. So I was eventually just using it with the old ac 130 watt plugged in, battery disconnected and throttlestop tool running (to prevent CPU throttling). after watching your video, I connected an HP 65watt adapter and now it boots with battery connected, bios recognizes the wattage and battery is charging, ill go ahead and get the dell 130 usb-c charger off amazon, so it all runs ok, but yeah, thanks again... 👍👍

Thanks for the work-around. I have 2 Dell XPS laptops, 9560 (girlfriend) and mine 9570 and my charger works fine on mine, but not on hers. Ripped her machine apart several times, checking connections, resetting bios, etc and no luck. Barrel plug or something must be jacked on hers. I had a 100w USB-C adapter laying around and didn't think of using it, but this will get her back up and running until I replace this machine. Good call. Thanks again!

Did it work?
@stephencrescenti9122 жыл бұрын
@@inast7181 It actually did. Not the most elegant fix, but at least prevents me from having to buy a new laptop for now.

Can I use the stock 130W Dell XPS 15 charger? Or do I need to get the exact 130W charger, as stated in the video?

Could I just use the stock 130W supply from my Dell XPS 15? Why do you need to get the other 130W supply with that specific information on it?

Has anyone been successful charging this laptop from a powerbank? I know a powerbank max is around 100w - I don't mind slow charging and will just charge it when turned off.

So another vid says the charger works fine and the laptop works fine but a solitary wire inside the charging cable that is unrelated to charging and used for identifying the charger to the laptop breaks really easily when you wind the cable up for storage. The laptop refuses to draw charge because it doesn't recognise the charger. But USB C doesn't have this safety fail, so it will accept charge from anything, even below desired power. Basically don't buy the £75 Dell charger that's trying to be too smart. Go USB

Is there any proof that the USB C will fry the motherboard?

If this is a fix then so is replacing a burning car with a new one a fix. I mean it solves the issue but is it a fix? Hmm
@rama49132 жыл бұрын
I'll give you the fix .... change the way the battery charges, set it to standard, that's it!
