I am repeatedly blown away by her voice, the purity, the clarity, the very special sound - and that she did this with no prep or warm-up is astounding.

Isn't she great? There was a similar scene at the Dick Cavett Show when Cavett made her sing Wouldn't it be loverly. It is absolutely obvious that she doesn't need technical support or something like this. She can sing beautifully at every time and place. I never get tired listening.

she is amazing - well, in many ways - but truly amazing that with no prep, no warmup, no nothing, her singing is so perfectly on tune, phrasing perfect, diction so correct. I've seen the Cavett clip of her singing Wouldn't It Be Loverly and that's even better than this because it's longer and more demanding.

Julie is wonderful. Also, Des was a fantastic interviewer: always cheery, enthusiastic, humourous, knowledgeable about the guest and their career, warm, welcoming, relaxed and he keeps a good pace while allowing the guest space to answer

Apparently Jane impersontated Shirley on this show, that would have been fun to see .

Such a tragedy that she lost her voice due to some stupid surgeons who didn’t tell her the truth, and botched the surgery. :(
