But when you are in the panic it is terrifying, I certainly can't think in the moment

it all takes practice, the first step in recovery is to accept your anxiety, and your next step is, allowing your symptoms to be there. if you were in a fight and you always got scared but nothing ever happened to you… you should recognize; hey this is obviously very uncomfortable right now and your symptoms are very physiological, however, i know your trick anxiety!! i’m going to allow it to happen and in fact i want it to get worse… anxiety only works if you fear it, but again, it takes time, you must practice patience and trust the process.

I started therapy talking about my anxiety and she told me to realize what's happening to my body when I feel anxious (how I know if I feel anxious). So I started to try to spot out physical symptoms, which is hard to recognize and it's just thoughts sometimes rather than physical symptoms but I realized my heart rate goes up, blushing, tension in neck and shoulders, not breathing properly, etc. When I think about what my body feels and I start to focus on it, the anxiety does go away a bit. Although when I feel extremely anxious it's impossible to bring my attention to my body. And can't even think of focusing on what my body feels cuz I'm way too focused on how I look in front of others. But I hope I'll be able to manage even stronger anxiety later on and I know it will not happen overnight..

Imagine being sick for over two decades on disability without any savings nor support and ur over 50 And your anxiety and panic started in your 20’s when u had a dream to become a famous musician ( in my case I wanted to create a healing show) all pressure was on me to bring big money to have safe future My husband was very sick with chronic AS didn’t make enough money / financial pressure living everyday in shock because of luck of money actually was the main problem that I ended up with anxiety panic attacks Now it’s beyond PANICK

Panic causes panic. 😂 Means you can't think clearly while you're IN the panic. make total sense. What I do when Anxiety comes is ....nothing. I shrug and sit back and read a book. I just let it happen.

How do I convince myself it is not dangerous? I have known people who have died because of this so how can I calm myself down when I think my symptoms can come back again and again and stay for months till I am in 30s and then because of it, a worse case scenario happens. This is what is happening to me rn and I am stuck in this loop no matter how much logic I apply to myself.

don’t fight the symptoms! that keeps it alive. i promise you won’t die from this because if you were, you would’ve by now.. also, this is a good opportunity to repair your relationship with death… sometimes you have to let the inevitable be. but are you really living, if you’re in constant fear of dying?

@@migo4747 The fact that if I pay attention, it will grow scares me at times. I am trying my best but I really don't have much mental capacity to go on anymore with this battle. I just want a rest which I haven't in ages. I am not scared of death, on the contrary I will lovingly embrace it. After my mom who recently passed away, I am not scared of death anymore. I was coping well but I was filled with regrets since our last moments weren't really precious or I was kinda rude and we didn't had best of relation so I thought I will get sick too as a punishment. Then, suddenly my aunt passed away too and I still was coping well. I bottled up. She was someone who used to have numbness in body and panic attacks until she went paralyzed for 6 years and suffered for 11 years. She was just alive, wouldn't be able to talk too. I was still coping well until I extremely got sick and missed my mom and thought mom must have suffered too. I had a huge fight with my dad then who shouted at me because he thought I was doing something bad in a locked room such as talking to a guy. He has gotten scared because of my siblings since brothers are addicts so I gave him my phone to check it etc. Then he said something which ended up giving me panic attack, I was sick so he said mom also used to not care or we didn't paid much attention to her health and pretty much ignored her symptoms. Since after that panic attack, my hands going numb and I am scared. It is a complicated situation, ignoring symptoms when mom literally died because of that and basically everyone telling me to not take the symptoms too lightly so my mind is officially broken.

@@andrewkarpyn785 I have days it flares up where I’m a bit shaky or everything is just a lot and I’m constantly stressed about losing the plot (mentally) but then I can go weeks where those thoughts barely impact my day to day life. It comes and goes. I think it’s best to try look at it in a positive light because you discover alot about your self.

there’s a ton of oxygenated blood being pumped through your body, which can really just be a euphoric/rush sensation. also, who you are is not important when you’re in FOF, survival is!

Recovery is about leaving things alone, don’t be afraid of it, because if you think about it you were not afraid of bodily sensations before , you had them before but now you’re just hyper focused on them that’s why they grow, leave them alone and they will go away on their own.
