Howdy Mish, I certainly enjoyed the backyard. The finds were the same as I get when I detect 1800's homes here in Pennsylvania except our coins are different of course. Glad you are back. The plastic on the pocket knife in the states is called bake lite. I hunt my yard a lot. It is old and at one time a rental, makes for some interesting finds. It is a good way to test new equipment. Hope life's bump smooths out for you. Thank you for sharing.

Definitely a rein guide for a horses harness and the buckles earlier are harness buckles

Mish I enjoy yard hunts. I usually leave a small drop cloth so I don’t spread loose dirt around. It will never be better than the beach.

Great hunt Mish, the finds are so random for a small back yard. Definitely worth doing! That last find which is the large ring is actually a brass pipe ring used for house plumbing. Most likely used to secure a waste/drain grate for a bath tub or laundry trough. Now these days the waste fittings are all plastic. Cheers Rob

P.S. The ring is to a sink drain pipe and in the older days they were made of Brass, and yes we call them clotheslines also here in the South part of America

I have a good dosing rod formula and it is very efficient and works well.I also use a dosing rod with a metal detector.

I was not expecting to see buckles or reign's guides, it took me by surprise! At the least, that place is early 1900s, Was there much of a front yard to check? If you can get access to early house sites, it would be great to see more hunts like this! But ill be happy with any location! Yay!! Mish is back in town again! Cheers!

Nice hunt Mish. I do a lot of yards and I was surprised by the age of some of your finds and don't feel bad about the ring. It happens to the best of us. Broke my rule and park hunted in shorts, last time out and got into poison ivy and since I have no resistance to it I had to get a shot to clear it up.

Like the storage belt you wear and the little probe etc etc. I’m trying to find a way to organise and carry all this stuff for long walks along the beach
