Thank you for showing the comparison, I understand the concept but sometimes it's hard knowing how my engine currently is, now it's very clear

Uv educated me more than other videos on UTube. actually being able to listen to the difference in the engine rather than others just telling u helps a bunch

Great video, it's the only one i found that show examples. I'm re jetting my bike to run on ethanol, it was okay for the main jet (easier to feel) but really hard for the pilot jet and your video helped a lot !

Great explanation! I just purchased an older snow blower that looks very similar to your vintage. It takes a while to warm up, runs great for a while and then runs worse as it heats up. I have an adjustment "screw" at the bottom of the carburetor that I play with to keep the snow blower running well while I am doing my driveway. When turning the adjustment clockwise I am not sure if I am making it run more rich or more lean? I will have to use your tips to listen to it next time I use it.

Turning it clockwise as viewed from the bottom will make it leaner. Thanks!

I wish you would have showed us how to adjust that and fix the rich or lean conditions

It all depends on what kind of carb your motor has. Find out and then look up how to tune that carb. Hope that helps!

Actually this is a litle bit confusing. You see, modern F1 cars run very lean, like AFR is something more than 20:1 which is EXTREMELY lean, and they have good fuel economy, and efficiency, but they don't shoot flames. There exhaust are a little bit red, but again they don't shoot flames. And i thick excess air cooles the engine as well. But excess fuel which can also ignite, can make shoot flames, because there is physicaly more fuel in the chamber. Whith rich AFR which is less than 14.7:1 can lead to additional carbon emisions, more smoke fron exhaust, carbon capturing in the exhaust pipes, ruined spark plugs, VERY low gas mileage and very strong gas smell. But still good video👍🏻 Please correct me if i am wrong someware and add something if need. Thanx😌

I have a mower running rich, cleaned the carb, choke is fully open. Any suggestions on what could be the issue? Also the carb is non adjustable
@5boltautomotive595 Жыл бұрын
If it's definitely running rich, try running without the air filter, try swapping muffler with known good muffler, verify camshaft isn't worn and you have poor lift, aside from that, might have to try a new jet

so RiCH mean less gas , LEAN mean more gas. whcih one better

rich. Lean burn will destroy your rings, valves, seats and manifold by overheating. Rich just soaks down the cylinders and makes you have to change the oil more often.
