Well, if most people watch the full video, like & comment IIRC that pretty mucj negates any negativity from YT Of that, I'm pretty sure the big bad on YT's end comes from people clicking off halfway through or so

Honestly, I'd prefer a half dozen or so episodes uploaded all at once, maybe in a playlist. Because of how youtube deals with watch history and saving where you were, completing a few videos is way easier to track than mid way through a giant video.

Personally I don’t like *playing* with AI mods, as sometimes the AI does things that just cracks me up -and because I don’t know how to install mods but shhh- but I do like *watching* them however, as it makes it more enjoyable. Edit: how the fuck do you strike-through on KZfaq

Eh, it's not funny when all the AI has to do is combine fleets with me to drive off invaders, but instead parks them in it's capital while their empire is ravaged The AI is so bad in Stellaris, you could probably replace it with the worst 4x player in the world & it would still be out-performed

@@Ronald98 Ok, for a semi-realistic conversation I'm not a programmer but I am vaguely aware programming AI is not easy. My point is that the AI does not have to be bad, or at least as bad as the Stellaris AI currently is (*See example*). In fact, that logic applies to most games - even games like CoD which, IIRC, all earn billions has AI that's essentially either aimbot or braindead but then there are games which have nowhere near the budget of CoD but have a much better AI (RUSE comes to mind as an example, IIRC). As an aside, I'm aware that CoD AI isn't a primary focus for what the game is trying to achieve but they could at least have a middle ground, rather than, probably literally, burning money on wasted patches poor maps & SP Experience, etc... TLDR: These companies could dedicate resources to solving the problem, but anything that interferes with, or otherwise falls outside of, their "business model" or "vision", etc.. is often dismissed/discarded with very little afterthought. I applaud decisiveness but condemn the shortsightedness that often dominates the corporate hive mind *Example:* I have literally had the base game AI be 100% paralyzed with indecision because we had a defensive pact & were at war with a stronger empire. The ticker is that our fleets combined had a shot at defeating theirs, or at least holding them at bay with starbases - instead they refused to move from their home planet & let it ravage their empire until war exhaustion cost us white peace. Meanwhile I fought their secondary fleet off solo with a smaller fleet while my main minimized my allies damage I'm not expecting human-level intelligence or that the AI can keep up with a player till end-game, but being stomped into the ground while they can actually do something because their programming is the limitation is disgusting, IMO. Meanwhile, modders are left to pick up slack on fixing the crap Paradox is content to ignore as though they are Bethesda now lol! It's shameful & they, as a company, lost my respect, at least in part, because of it

@@Altair1243WAR I think the largest issue is trying to find a solution that doesn't immediately make the AI 'too good', as a large aspect of how good you are is how little mistakes you make Strategy games like Stellaris have AI like this not because it can't be made better but because the rewarding aspect of playing a 'Strategy' game is taking advantage of someone or something's error to get the upper hand, something that wouldn't happen as often if the AI simply didn't fuck up, something it kinda needs to do so that newer players to the genre aren't screwed by the neighboring AI with bulging muscles because it went Supremacy for its first tradition while the poor new guy went Discovery without doing what many define as the 'meta' strats. Albeit, aside from its deliberate points of just breaking (transport fleets going back and forth without doing SHIT), I feel the Stellaris AI being bad is intentional for playability

Meta is called such because it is intentionally playing in an unusual manner that was not intended by the devs. Hence, it is almost always the superior option because there exists no real/meaningful counter except by another player I'm not asking for the AI to be meta-level, what I'm saying is the damn thing shouldn't be near-constantly crippled by indecision when even a minor threat is presented. It almost-literally has two modes, outside mods, which are "rofl-stomp" & "blind panic" I have never seen it provide a challenge unless it can 100% destroy you with no sweat & even then it fails to take into account things like strategic positioning. One star fortress at a chokepoint can hold an entire fleet of reasonable power, if need be, let alone what it can do with actual support yet the AI slaps them everywhere with no consideration, then builds like 4 anchorages on them. TLDR, there's several levels of difference between garbage-fire that is Stellaris AI & being meta

Paradox "balancing" at its finest LOL. Seriously who thought giving players an even more OP way to break the game was smart? This is probably the only time I will say we need less "fun stuff" & more work on the AI - I don't want the AI cheating, it needs to actually be smart
