Well, technically since the shared burden, and later utopian living standards are the only ones available, it means that there isn't a class system in a technical sense, since everyone has equal living standards. Yes, the servile race isn't good at anything other than menial work, but they still live comfortably and with dignity. It's not ideal by any means, and many leftists (including my humble self) woukd frown at this organization, but let's remember that this is a video game set in fucking space where you can become psychic, eat your planets, eat other people (and their planet if you really want to), and establish the almighty "Intergalactic Gandhi Empire".

Speight Adrien no it definitely can be... “Ignorance is bliss” - Thomas Gray It comes down to the personal preference of the being: if you make them smart enough to understand certain problems, to ask certain questions, they might no longer be happy, therefore some might not even want that. Understanding means suffering, sapience is a gift and a burden at the same time, but the way you interpret these things as a being capable of higher reasoning is what determines weather you would find this ability positive or not

Shared burdens is an interesting civic, best used with the majority of workers being droids Workers have drastically increased consumer goods, robots need zero unless you research synths Specialists need less than normal Rulers are dirt cheap by comparison (sad byzantine bureaucracy noises, you will be missed) So if you can automate workers it can be great for consumer goods (disclaimer, I haven't done it personally this is just a theory) Agrarian idyll meanwhile doesn't allow city planets last time I checked and clashes with specialist worlds w/ full upgraded buildings. (In theory again I don't tend to play past early game personally, trouble keeping interest with endless waiting, no ancient relics) these civics together with origin seem at odds (servile species competes with vastly superior robots, farmer focus vs avoiding expensive workers) interested in how this turns out, now to acually start the video rather than typing a small essay
@tomisabum

Post-watch, you're pretty right: But going Gaia worlds, plus the Galactic Federation resolutions with hard diplomatic weight they went for I think more than made up for this. No loss for habitability with that strip mining planetary decision is great. Not so great for research, though. Research habitats earlier, maybe?

I’ve just had quite possibly the best idea for an ongoing play through, in order to keep peace, you must lock away criminals but not near the efficient civilians. A penal colony with perhaps a name that starts with goo... or maybe gu?
@tomisabum
@tomisabum 3 жыл бұрын
Ironically, gaia worlds make the best penal colonies, so having world shaper would be great. The fact that tomb worlds in turn make the most efficient resort worlds still tickles me to this day. Bonus points if you get a tomb world that has roaches, then uplift them and have them run the place as clerks.

Lath’s duality between “skulls for the skull throne” and “must protect the baby space whales” is fascinating, and kind of reminds me of my first empire. They were militarist, materialist cats, in a federation with 3 fanatic spiritulaist pacifist empires, and both the space whale and amoeba home systems were very close by. I claimed both systems and built citadels in them to protect them.

Exactly the fella I wanna see getting weird in space when I get back from work. And looks like you're representing the workers yourself! I've actually never tried either of those civics, might use them for a Shoulders Of Giant start, though I'm gonna guess you benefit from your serviles a lot with shared burdens. Can't wait to see what third option you take for civics as well. May the fruits of your many hours be equally shared, my blorgetariat brother!

Speaking of Liking Stellaris: Your Videos about it are one of the few gaming Videos i actually am delighted to see! Normally it's for me "oh, nice... new upload", but with those monster Stellaris Videos it is actual excitement!

I love the longer videos! Though I hate that it hurts the channel. The longer videos make it easier to watch little bits when I get a chance!
