Oh I died at the end of the tunnel. Ended up getting all real sweaty and hot in the tunnel, I didn't realize how much I was sweating, come out of the tunnel into that wall cold air boom instant chill. Never got back to my pre tunnel pace, but I did finish the international half. Next year I'm thinking of fall half-marathon for Ann Arbor, I'm going to give Detroit a break for a few years.

I think the course was a bit long, my watch got my time at 1:44:48 and my official time was 1:45:26. I was looking for myself in all the clips because I recognized a lot of the people you were running with, good chance we ran near each other! Either way its a PR and I hit my goal time so I'm very happy. The sun rise over ambassador bridge was gorgeous and I felt great for the first half. A big group of people I knew raced this one and everyones low point was that tunnel lol

Great recap of the International Half and congrats on beating 8 minutes. It’s easy to fall into a fast start there. I was 15 minutes behind you. Haha

I am going to run my first half marathon ever this fall. I will probably only run a 12 minute pace but for a quite new runner I think its going to be good enough. Your video definitely gave me confidence that this going to be a great race. Thanks for sharing!

I found you because I'm considering this race for fall 2023 - I think you've sold me ;) Not sure I want to do the full - I have one in February and then I think I'm swearing off 26.2 after that (it will be my fifth and I never seem to get them right) so as long as the half also goes into Canada I think I'm in! My husband is from there so I think he'd be super excited to tag along for this one. I did want to see the bling at the end but even the ribbon alone looked pretty nice. Congrats!

Great Video. Good pace, congrats. Finished my marathon on goal time (Sub 3.50 actual time 3.48.50), great experience but from mile 24 till finish is the hardest thing I ever done. Even though I was running in decent pace each step felt harder and longer. At mile 25.2 my left hamstring gave up couldn't even walk. Sat down for at least minute to relax and Strech then slowly walked and jogged to the finish line. Looks like you started close to HM-1.50/M-3.50 pace group? I started just behind 3.50 pace group. I followed your tip on how to carry passport and it worked very well.
