Loading the cine film into a spiral universal UPB-1 or UPB-1A LOMO developing tank. 8, Super8, 16 (2x8) or 35 mm.
The end of the film is fixed to be used any way that you would like.
Emulsion this side needs to be facing up.
The perforations must be down for 1x8 film.
Also you can see here

I learned to do this in the dark. Boy did it take some patience to get it down!

I'm trying to do this right now. You skipped the part where the film gets all jammed up and also the part where you cry at the sheer impossibility of this task. Edit: I've since managed to do it successfully after a lot longer in the dark than I expected as well as many curse words at a volume that may have disturbed the neighbors.

Thanks. Simple demonstration. This helped me realise I am missing the black spacer for 35mm.

For 1x 8mm (the first film you load) don't put the second spiral reel on top. Always use the top reel (without spiral).

Holding the film spool will put less finger grease onto the film. :)
