On your point about Sugar's fruit not being fully negated when she was unconscious; I actually think it was, just as you said the Hobby-Hobby no mi only stops her body from aging so even if that was negated we wouldn't have been able to see any aging occurring in the short time that she was unconscious. So if we say her body was exactly 10 years old to the minute when she was knocked out, it probably aged a few minutes until she regained consciousness and her body now is 10 years and few minutes old.

I would say that Sugar's devil fruit is more like the "Childish Dream" Devil fruit, where you remain eternally young, you turn others into toys, and all people that are turned into toys you can dictate what happens to them (People forget them, they lose their original strength, they follow the orders of whoever you decide, etc) So it is a powerful devil fruit but it is one that will only remain active for as long as there is no sudden unconsciousness of the user (So the person can sleep and the effects remain active but it will no if the person is knocked out or goes unconscious from shock)

I think that, if a devil fruit user is knocked out, the effects of the fruit will only stop working on those affected by said abilities, and not the devil fruit user himself. For example, Sugar didn't go back to normal because the devil inside the devil fruit is living inside of her and, so, she can't go back to normal age. Likewise with Brook, given that the devil is living inside of him, he won't die unless said devil leaves his body.

I think oda wants us to understand that each devil fruit is unique. They have their own benefits and weaknesses it makes the process of mastering a devil fruit more credible because you have to learn it's limitations and what it's rules are. We're gonna keep saying this until we die. Sugar having the body of a child is not a POWER. It is a side effect. Just like the memory loss is a side effect. She can't control either of those. The only cavate with the memory loss is that it's an active side-effect in tandem with her main ability. The ability to turn people into toys. Her only other main power is the mind control of the toys. Her body is a consequence of having ate the Hobi Hobi no Mi. As a matter of fact all of Brook's abilities are side effects of the Yomi Yomi no Mi and are not POWERS afforded to him after consuming it. Controlling Ice as well as being able to separate his spirit from the skeleton are not devil fruit abilities.

Perhaps it’s only active effects that get negated when you unwillingly loose consciousness and you can’t reassert the effect (sleep doesn’t count, and perhaps there’s a grace period). Passive effects, like Sugar’s age and Brook’s unlife, don’t get negated. Perhaps Devil Fruit active effects have to constantly be reasserted to work indefinitely. Most DF users would do this unconsciously, like how a Logia would reactively turn into their element. When they lose consciousness, the effects slowly wane until they disappear completely, upon which case they disappear. If they regain consciousness before then, the effects are reasserted.

When Pedro and brook infiltrated toto land they used biscuit soldiers to hide in.I don’t know if this happened in the manga but it happened in the anime. This could mean that crackers abilities where not negated after passing out and the soldiers remained active? For the knock out rule, it seems any permamant changes to the body, or any parts of pople are inside other things will remain if the user is knocked out, however effects that requore contius decition to activate will stop. For example, shugars body is permantly changed to be a little girl but she must contusly decide to make someone a toy.

Just a thing to add to Sugars “Youth” I think the fruit stops the user from Aging altogether. So if she does become unconscious, that effect is lost and she starts aging again...like a normal person.

I have always wondered how much a zoan type devil fruit actually affects a person. My main thought is chopper who isn't even a person. you have to remember that he is a human reindeer and not a reindeer human so he would still have the lifespan of a reindeer. chopper is 17 years old, the average life of a reindeer is only 10 years so unless the human fruit gave him a human-like lifespan making chopper is the Dr.Kureha of reindeer. I also wonder how much is a mink affected by the animal they are. for example, carrot who is a bunny likes carrots which is a trait commonly associated with bunnies, also dog minks like bones as we saw with brook. So I wonder what else is changed, would a cat mink like catnip? Would a cheetah mink be really fast? Would a mountain goat mink be a really good climber? so many questions

Good Video it's honestly surprising to find people questioning the rules of Devil fruits so it is a good topic for conversation. Personally I think most Devilfruits Abilities can be devided into an ''Active'' and ''Passive'' ability. For example if we take Luffy who is of course a rubber human. When he ate the Gomu-Gomu no mi his body instantly became that of rubber, this can be considered a passive ability because he didnt really get a choice in the matter as to whether his body is rubber or if he can turn it on and off. Where as Luffy's Gear second could be considered an active ability because its not something he has just by existing. In Katakuri's case I would have to imagine that his body is normally not that of Mochi but he has to conciously decide to turn it into mochi, this makes it not quite a logia so I personally feel like it fits. as for the whole point of abilities deactivating when the user becomes unconcious IF we are going by what im talking about then we can assume that only ones active abilities are nullified when someone gets knocked out. Its a fun thing to think about so I thought I would leave a comment have a nice day people.

(Not fully through the video so if Tekking mentions it, I apologize for reiterating this.) The one thing that did bother me was back in Punk Hazard when Monet "Dies". I use quotation because her and Virgo's scenes where they died is STILL left ambiguous and what not, so she could be dead, she could still be alive, who knows. Point is there is one thing that happened that always left me baffled and that's the snow bunnies. After her supposed "death", snow bunnies appeared and were trying to direct the strawhats with the children on board out of the island. Now we can take it two ways. First, her being dead. These snow bunnies have been the first and only time we see this effect when a devil fruit user dies. We had NEVER seen this happened again, hell we actually saw the reincarnation cycle happen with the salamander fruit, and we didn't see any weird effects to happen. So why is Monet's snow fruit different? Is it just because she is a Logia? But then there is the problem with Ace when he died. We didn't see like fire hawks appear somewhere on the battlefield to signal the fire fruit. Is it something to do with the fruit itself? Who knows, I don't know how it's any more special then the Fire or Magma fruits. But then there is the option of her being alive. So IF she did survive, how did she do that and helped the strawhats? She seemed like she did fall unconscious, so is it a Eneru thing and her powers just act on her own? That could explain how she managed to survive and maybe get Virgo with her, but that doesn't explain why the snow bunnies helped the stawhats when they escaped. She still thinks they are her enemy. Or how about her other parts like her heart that was still left near Ceaser? Did the snow just catches it? Or did someone else find it? Actually that brings into question if Law used his power and left someone's heart on the island, does the poison effect the heart or something? There is a lot of mysteries to Devil Fruits that makes me think there is like a spirit of a concept that has some sentience but not the same as in Bleach. Cause we know the animals can still have independent thoughts but what about Eneru with electricity? Or Monet here with her snow? It's just something that's been a long time coming cause Devil Fruits don't have a proper explanation besides general concepts.

Ok Tekking I just had an interesting thought the moment you mentioned Eneru because I have a theory that some devil fruits have like a passive capability, something that maybe the user doesnt have to be in direct control of. So in Eneru’s instance if he is not conscious his body is still operating normally because even if you are not conscious in some situations your body will still continue to function and you will still have a pulse therefore his fruit would still be active. Another example of this could be with Aokiji, he could freeze water at will but what if a passive ability of his was freezing water even without him doing so himself therefore he always has protection from the main devil fruit weakness.

Devil Fruits tend to lose their effects when the user gets knocked unconscious, but only when the effects are present in another individual (like for example, Hina's cage), or when it affects things externally (Doffy's Birdcage).

I think the drain on Law's body is rooted in the fact the Ope Ope no Mi is a fruit with psychokinetic powers which requires his focus and concentration. And commonly these types of powers tend to stress or burden the user proportionately to the size or intensity of their task.

I think it may be more of a concentration/allocated thinking based thing for example i think sugar always allocates a very small part of her brain or thinking for keeping the people as toys and losing that concentration when knocked out brings them back but the overall power of the fruit including the age is not negated. As for big mom i think its because she gives anything animated their own consciousness thereby no longer needing to allocate a portion of the brain or anything.

Well it's hard to say really since the size of the atmosphere is most likely different from our own. Not to mention that he could in theory choose a nearly weightless form as fire so realistically, he hardly has to put in any propulsive force to reach the sound barrier or to leave the atmosphere.
