I had this problem with our Sport trac last year. It was about 4 thousand bucks spendy...The guys got quite an education at my expense.

i had a 2001 4.0l SOHC, i replaced my timing chains with a set of vise grips, new bolts gaskets, chains guides,. ect.. but i was able to do it, somehow.... i had the tensioner guide on the balance shaft chain fail.. man oh man it was loud
