Ambassador Chas W. Freeman, Jr. is a senior fellow at Brown University's Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs, a former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense, ambassador to Saudi Arabia (during operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm), acting Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, and Chargé d'affaires at both Bangkok and Beijing. He began his diplomatic career in India but specialized in Chinese affairs. (He was the principal American interpreter during President Nixon's visit to Beijing in 1972.)
Ambassador Freeman is a much sought-after public speaker (see chasfreeman.net) and the author of several well-received books on statecraft and diplomacy. His most recent book, "America's Continuing Misadventures in the Middle East" was published in May 2016. "Interesting Times: China, America, and the Shifting Balance of Prestige," appeared in March 2013. "America’s Misadventures in the Middle East" came out in 2010, as did the most recent revision of "The Diplomat’s Dictionary," the companion volume to "Arts of Power: Statecraft and Diplomacy." He was the editor of the Encyclopedia Britannica entry on "diplomacy."
Freeman is a former U.S. assistant secretary of defense, ambassador to Saudi Arabia, principal deputy assistant secretary of state for African affairs, chargé d’affaires a.i. at Bangkok and Beijing, acting U.S. commissioner for refugee affairs and director of program coordination and development at the U.S. Information Agency. He was the principal American interpreter during the late President Nixon’s 1972 opening of U.S. relations with China.
Chas Freeman studied at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and Taiwan and earned an A.B. magna cum laude from Yale University as well as a J.D. from the Harvard Law School. He chairs Projects International, Inc., a Washington-based firm that for more than three decades has helped its American and foreign clients create ventures across borders, facilitating their establishment of new businesses through the design, negotiation, capitalization, and implementation of greenfield investments, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, franchises, one-off transactions, sales and agencies in other countries.

@Perceivedreality999. For almost a century 80-90% of infrastructure, hospitals, labs, Pharmaceutica, private colleges, warfare making, congress, also land is owned by European Israeli's! If they didn't control the US it would still be a friendly country looking after it's own citizen's! From 1948 to 1989 if I am correct as Prof. Sachs stated CIA organized 79 coups in that many countries, civil wars (Libya) proxy wars (Ukraine) and real wars (Afghanistan) When the peace deals were signed after WW2, US, Britain, France went on 2 to 3 weeks of bombing rampage killing German children, women, sick, starving, old! The Israeli scientists who invented the atomic bomb for the US tested it on the Japanese population, if 1 lived in a communist countries we could se photos of the horrible birth defects decades later! Vietnam is still receiving free medication against birth defects now! Now they test every new weapon produced in the US, on Palestinian's! The Rothschild's made their wealth by selling arms to Britain and France, it was the British who sold the piece of the Palestinian's country they call Israel! By 1937 Palestinian's were driven out of their homes and towns or killed! This like every other up roar on OCT.7 was started by the Israeli's using US Apache helicopters, the party staged between 2 army barracks kibbutz where the Hamas goes for hostages according to the pilot they were ordered to shoot on the masses same as the tanks, most were shot by their own side of the 1200, same as the hostages, those who spoke up or want to tell the truth are locked up in mental institution's of whom many have " ended their own lives"!

The most distressing thing today to me is the way people toss around the idea of using nuclear weapons as if that were a sane option. It is not. It is an insane option. The ONLY arguably sane use of nuclear weapons is to deter anyone else from using them on you. Once you open that Pandora's Box, there will be no closing it. The world will literally come to an end. It is not an option. Period. To be talking about it in this way is completely disconnected from reality. The very idea of using nuclear weapons in response to an illegal attack on a singe beach is terrifying. It is terrifying because it is a sign that there are people in power who are in control of things they have no understanding of. Nukes are a self-destruct button. End of story. If people actually believe the insane things they are saying about using nuclear weapons as a tactical weapon we are already doomed to destruction. It is certifiably insane.

It's bluster, fact is the elite don't like unpredictability, there's every chance it would backfire. So for them it's merely the threat, indicating complete desperation because they're losing on the ground However Putin may use a single strategic strike as a deterrent should the West continue to engage in terrorism. In the meantime Russia's loss has been Hamas Houthi and Hezbollah gains in tech and AA systems

Houthi army scientists have "invented" hypersonic weapons. And they thank Allah Vladimirovich for this. Similarly, scientists from North Korea, Iran, India and many other countries of Russia's friends are beginning to make rapid discoveries in the development of hypersonic missiles. This answer is enough for you to realize what Putin is up to. Now NATO will have to fight uneasily with Russia, but with all the countries that stand behind Russia. So who's in isolation? NATO bases around the world are no longer safe.

Zelensky didn't try to prevent the conflict through diplomacy because he lacks honor and integrity. In 2014 there was a coup. Soon after, there was a massacre in Odessa (dozens of people were burned alive). Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed. A civil war broke out due to the rise in ethnic tensions. For 8 years the Ukrainian military was indiscriminately shelling civilians living in Donbas. If Zelensky honored the Minsk agreement and pledged neutrality, none of this would have happened. The 8 year civil war would have ended and Donbas would have remained part of Ukraine. War is the ultimate failure of diplomacy. Zelensky, Poroshenko, Merkel and Hollande admitted that Ukraine had no intention to honor the Minsk agreements. Who didn't want peace? Who advised against the 2022 peace talks in April? Hint: someone visited Zelensky in Kiev at that time. Russia's national security was compromised once NATO began to expand eastwards. Russia clearly stated that Ukraine joining NATO was a red line (November 2021) and unfortunately this concern was never taken seriously. The Russians openly stated: if nothing changes, we will be forced to act in order to defend our national security. Enhancing the national security of one country at the expense of another is unacceptable. The Russians have legitimate security concerns. 20th September, 2021. Ukraine launched military drills with US and NATO. NATO is not a defensive alliance. NATO illegally bombed Yugoslavia (a direct violation of the U.N. Charter). We should never forget what they did to Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq etc. Who blew up the pipeline causing an environmental disaster? Zelensky banned all opposition and arrested a leading priest. Zelensky tried to invoke article 5 under false pretenses. Remember the incident in Poland. Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed. Poroshenko said, “Our children will go to schools and kindergartens-theirs will hide in the basements”. Russians will never forget the 2014 Odessa massacre. The whole world needs to know about it. Why was Denis Kireev eliminated? He was a member of Ukraine's negotiating team during the peace negotiations. He wanted to help his country. Ukraine has a hit list. They target artists, journalists and ordinary citizens. Hundreds of children are on this list. 13 year old Faina Savenkova was placed on this list. Pink Floyd's Roger Waters is on this list. Jimmy Dore (American stand-up comedian, podcaster) and Aaron Maté (Canadian writer and journalist) are on this list. There is evidence that Ukrainian troops have been indiscriminately shelling civilians in Donbas (they used petal mines and targeted areas where there was no military presence). The azov troops trapped in the azovstal steelworks in Mariupol used human shields. They refused to allow civilians to leave despite of humanitarian corridors being present. Russia held a proposed cease fire in order for the civilians to leave, but azov would not allow the civilians to leave. Ukraine has committed many acts of terrorism (car bombs and other forms of assassination). Darya Dugina (journalist) R.I.P. The first terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed the truck driver and the individuals in the adjacent car (innocent civilian victims). The second terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed two parents and severely injured their young daughter. I have done a lot of research and it took me a long time to write this comment. I have stated a lot of facts and I have given my honest opinion. I have provided a brief summary of events that took place. In order to explain this whole situation in great detail, a book would need to be written. Hopefully someone will write an UNBIASED book, stating facts and allowing the readers to form their own judgments. Everything I said can be fact checked and verified.

So Putin is so cold and calculating, weird statement in the context of this beach attack. Russia has never threatened the use of nuclear weapons, merely pointed out the scenarios in which their doctrine demands them, and reacted to Western escalations by pointing out that they have them, and also superior delivery systems against which there is currently no defence.

Soon as Putins visit to China finished, he went to N Korea to flesh out the Tumen River deal to make the Siberian co-development plan a reality. This is alll that matters to China. Siberia will Boom once political obstacle is removed from Tumen River.

Você é diplomata? Jornalista?

Many have misread this Russian, North Korean, and Chinese relationships. Before Putin's recent visit last weeks, it has been 24 years before any visit to NK, but Kim has met Putin in Russia twice. Last year and in 2019. But Xi has met Kim 5 times before Putin ever met Kim; 4 times in Beijing and 1 time in North Korea. It was the Chinese that had been supporting the North Koreans for the last several decades. How do you think North Korea got the advance machinery? People need to remember Kim has been a brash young kid. and even got fooled when courted by Trump. Why the careful approached by these two, Xi and Putin. Many get it wrong that Putin doesn't need to ask Xi if he wanted to do the security deal. LOL, Xi and Putin been watch Kim figuring out if Kim can be a partner instead of a loose cannon that can be swayed by Uncle Sam. Of course Putin has the last word when it comes to Ukraine and Xi about Taiwan. But these KZfaq so called expert are not as expert as they think they are. The whole idea about this new mulitpolar/multinodal world that China and Russia is forming is about communication and consulting with one and other, not a unilateral decision-making like in the West. Xi's visit to North Korea 5 years ago. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j7p7bLeJude8YqM.html
