I think Elvis would be angry that friends and especially family have to pay to enter Graceland. He was always such a giving person. He would feel like he was taking advantage of family. ❤️🇦🇺

Your family should NOT have to pay to go to Graceland. Why? Because you are ELVIS' Family! I don't think Elvis would be happy about that situation or others throughout the years since he passed. I think it's deplorable the way your family has been treated. We Elvis fans think the world of you and deeply thank you for sharing your stories and memories of Elvis. Thank you Smith family! I send my love to you.

This whole thing has been ridiculous- In my opinion-its sort of been the entertainment folks v. the actual family. Like-guess what VH1 Classic- everytime you go to his hometown his family. will still be there. That's the part that always cracks me up. His family members deserve more respect.
@emmalouise800111 ай бұрын
Knowing Elvis he probably wouldn’t even want the general public having to pay the ridiculous ticket prices to see his home.
@abc-wv4in10 ай бұрын
I agree. Elvis' true family (not his EX-wife) are the closest remaining connection to Elvis. It's a shame Lisa when she was young and his granddaughters were kept from them. I hope Riley will try to reconnect.
@raycarter80709 ай бұрын
I wanted to add to , as far as my family research, the family has been wonderful to local families with research. Couldn't thank them enough.

Elvis would think it‘s a scam that even his fans have to pay such a high price to see his home. If you look at the ticket prices, it‘s extremely high which I think is ridiculous. Billy should have been the one to manage Graceland, he was Elvis‘s true family and it makes me extremely mad how they were treated by that awful disgusting witch.
@patrichardson748111 ай бұрын
Danny thanks so much for expressing your true feelings abut how Graceland has treated your family . Hopefully in the near future Riley will step up and formally invite your family back in the fold and possibly have a day in honor of your Mom and Dad . I know I might be dreaming but this needs to be done wile everyone is still here . I am sure thousands of fans would be in favor of this and it would not take much to start an on line petition or letter campaign to get this done. God bless you all .
@raycarter807011 ай бұрын
They should be treated more professionally. I understand non-family paying, but It's a shame.
@pattynuzzello903510 ай бұрын
If Pricilla didn't and Lisa who spent some years playing with them anyway didn't reach out what would make you think her daughter Riley would ? She has no idea who they are and has her own family apart from the Smith family. And have anynif the Smith family reached out to them Dud they reach out when her son died? Did they reach out to her children or Pricilla when she or her son died I've never heard any mention of them doing it ...I've noticed a lot of questionin dodging whenever they dnt want to answer and with the thousands of questions they hand pick them n know what they are prior to the video so answers are scriptured
@raycarter807010 ай бұрын
For me when researching and looking up family and local records-it would be a huge mistake for her not reach out. Especially if she actually wants to know more about her grandfather. She never met him unfortunately- I think it would be really hard for her when conducting tours at anything elvis related or doing a news interview. The Smiths overall were one of the biggest families around when he was a kid. The Presleys (at least around lee co) were way smaller. It's way more of a benefit than harm. I hope that makes sense!

I agree family should not have to pay. I'm not opposed to paying, though I think it's priced a bit high. What would Elvis think of the prices for his fans?
@gragrn11 ай бұрын
You would think EPE would issue a Gold Pass for all former members of the household and anyone that was close to Elvis. It's rude to think people who lived and worked there have to pay to get in, Elvis would be furious!

They’ve been awesome with research and assistance for different families. But this one completely surprised me. That’s not right. Agreed!

Yes, it's disgusting that Elvis' own family members have to pay to visit Graceland. Elvis would be appalled at many things, including Vernon putting Priscilla in charge of his estate. His will did not do that.
@gragrn10 ай бұрын
@@abc-wv4inMaybe not but if it wasn't for Priscilla the whole lot would have probably been sold off and we wouldn't have Graceland to visit, or the collection of Elvis' jumpsuits and personal items to be amazed by. They would all be in private hands.

How do you think Elvis would feel about the commercialization of Graceland today? According to Ms. Rooks, Elvis "never wanted the home opened up to the public. He wanted the trophy room open to the public, but he was gonna intend to do that his self if he had retired. He was gonna let 'em come through the hall there and go down through the trophy room on back by the swimming pool and on back around. He had decided on doing that."
@terryadams195111 ай бұрын
Maybe that is where Priscilla got the idea to open Graceland to the public. If she knew of Elvis' plan, then she may have felt he would have been okay with it. What do you think?
@vicki607011 ай бұрын
@@terryadams1951 No. Prissy has always been given too much credit for Graceland. Once the Meditation Garden was turned into a cemetery, it was encumbent upon VP, by the State of TN, to allow visitors to walk to the Meditation Garden for visitation and research purposes, etc. VP did not have to have Graceland open all day but, at least, part of the day, to allow access. Further, VP was offered $600,000 from the State of TN to turn Graceland into museum. He turned down that offer and before they could negotiate another deal VP passed away. VP named Prissy as Co-Executor, along with The National Bank of Commerce AND its Advisors, as well as, Joe Hanks (Elvis' + Vernon's accountant). Also, you'll remember that the Court appointed Blanchard Tual, an attorney, as Lisa Marie's Guardian-ad-Litem to protect her interests since she was a minor. So, ALL of these people, with Prissy just being one of them, noticed the visitors walking to the Meditation Garden and contacted people with knowledge of theme parks and museums. Jack Soden was one of them. The plan had to be approved by the Court. It was not necessary for Prissy to even be in Court. Graceland developed from there.

I think Graceland and EPE stopped caring about the fans a long time ago. They don’t hire quality people and probably don’t pay them much either. I’ve been once and won’t likely go back. I’m thankful for the Elvis people that are still sharing their stories because the heart of Elvis is with them more than a piece of property that Elvis once owned.
