Man i hope they get Fassbender back as Magneto for the MCU. Not necessarily the same one we've seen before, but his variant that exists in mcu. He's so good as Magneto. Same goes for McAvoy.

So many good hot takes in this thread. Love all these castings! Fassbender was phenomenal but Mads Mikelson would be great as either of those characters, especially Doom.

Fassbender is 44. I don't think Marvel wants an older actor playing him since he's so instrumental to the X-Men world. I'd hope they'd want whoever plays Magneto to sign on to several movies for multiple years. Maybe like Loki was. I'd be very disappointed if he was another 1 and done MCU villain. McAvoy is 42. I'd go for guys who are mid 30's since both guys are shown in comics to be on the older side of most mutants. It also widens the potential actor pool instead of having a handful of actors who even fit the age range. It would serve Marvel better to cast younger actors in these big roles so they have the flexibility to feature them in movies and Disney+ shows for years. Look at Tom Holland. He's the PERFECT age and appearance to literally play Spider-Man naturally all throughout his college years, then early adulthood, and then introduce Miles to take over.

Naw, it would be idiotic to even think that Magneto could kill Scarlet Witch. The only way he could actually do that would be with the element of surprise, quite large surprise that is. Absolutely zero belief behind the idea of Magneto alone being able to kill Scarlet Witch....

@@cjtrules1 I know it has been out but my point was its really stupid to even start saying that Scarlet Witch would lose to something like Magneto. I don't care what the writers write, it's not logical at all... Scarlet Witch is so damn powerful who could turn Magneto into a singing wiener in blink of an eye without Magneto even being able to do anything. I mean there should be some kind of logic behind these things at least don't you think? It's like putting Hulk vs Cockroach ... Vanilla cockcroach....... WHO WOULD WIN!? Cockroach ofc right? right?

It makes sense when they explained it in the last issue so I'm not sure why you are holding on to it being stupid when the idea has now been executed. Is it a bit of a cop out? They haven't retconned it back yet, they see him as a Foster father essentially, my guess is they'll eventually be retconned back into being his kids For like the 2nd or 3rd time

i understand the murder weapon being metallic in origin but why would they suspect magneto first? despite all his flaws as a parent, wanda has always been his favorite child and he would do anything to defend her. and magneto isn't the only one who could control metal. it could have been a matter manipulator or a telekinetic or even technological. i guess the x-men never truly trusted magneto at all.

Would love to see the xmen films being an alternate timeline in the mcu where avengers didn't exist and the x-gene began appearing in humans. Maybe even show Bruce banner or Tony stark in the xmen universe but never becoming hulk or never making the the mk1 suit. Shoot.... Captain America can still be in ice somewhere and maybe Logan and sabretooth met him in ww2.

Aaron, she’s not his daughter! Hasn’t been since December 2014. Also, Magneto was originally Sinti and wasn’t officially & fully retconned as Ashkenazi until 2008.

@Sachintha Fernando she was resurrected by the 5. She had planned this all w magneto. However toad actually kills her which wasn't part of the plan. This was all so she could reverse thr effects of M day, returning the x gene to all those that lost it

originally whizzer was her father then in 1982 magneto claimed to be her father, but in 2015 it was revealed that magneto was not her father. her true father is django maximoff and that’s comic and mcu canon

Yes. The Scarlett Witch can be defeated, even die. It is not that hard. Despite her power, she can barely control it. She has never been a great fighter nor able to focus her abilities well...the results are often random and not as intended. She has been beaten several times over the years, even overpowered. And she has little defense against physical attacks. So yeah, Magneto COULD kill her. Easily.
