We took Topsy to the scales at the local sawmill.
It’s weight is about what a normal truck is for a heavy haul truck spec’d similar to a Kenworth C500 / Western Star 6900xd.
With a 1500kg weight allowance you can actually haul more with a hybrid truck that a standard diesel

She is pretty stout, but those 1/2 inch, 13mm thick frame rails are pretty beefy. Its roughly 10k lbs or 4,535kg heavier than the day cab Mack I drive, but Topsy has a lot more wheelbase and is essentially double frame. The weight is closer to a couple roll off trucks I drove, both double frame, long wheelbase and the 60k lb capacity cable hoist. It would interesting to see how much lighter it would be with standard thickness frame rails and like 200 inch or 5.08m wheelbase; and a slightly less substantial front bumper. More of a vocational tractor for dumps or flat beds with a Moffet. I know its basically the first prototype you have built, but something like this in a lighter weight would be ideal for lumber yards, landscaping, municipality, ext. Throw a 26 ft, 7.9m flatbed on it and hang a Moffet off the back, with all that visibility would make a great truck hauling lumber or sod into residential areas for construction.

Not too bad. Had a simular setup truck for heavy haul in the oilfields. Was about 400 pounds heavier dry iirc. Though we had 300 gallons of fuel on it instead of the standard 160-180. That said at a rough guess using what weights you have provided and educated guesses a road truck setup like topsy would likely end up around 1500 pounds lighter then a modern emissions truck.

Prolly needs a conformal coating on the escs, arguably potted (bye repairability tho) and maybe a waterproof headache rack.(i.e. no ingress inside the box in the first place) Probably would want a water level sensor and maybe a pressurized air intake. Another option would be to have everything sensitive oil/grease or novec filled, but that might be overkill.

Imagine a aluminum hood and doors, floorboard maybe the cab and a highway front bumper, maybe add a sleeper for a long haul truck. Cover the xab and sleeper with solar panels to keep the "house" battery charged, for running lights, heat, cooking and entertainment, maybe a small refrigerator. Build the cab and sleeper in one piece, about a 7'6 box on the back of the cab. Possibly get into carbonfiber, the whole front clip, cab and sleeper weigning less than 300lbs, the weight can be in the trailer making money! It would be simple making a mold for fiberglass or carbon parts, build a cab or front clip and just cover it with plywood, make it so it will slide off. Then spray the plywood with epoxy resin, sand it smooth. Buff snd polish it, and coat with wax or mold remease. Then hand lay the composite fabric of choice. After a few hours you got all the parts to build a body, attach them to a steel powdercoated skeleton, and powdercoated frame. So it doesn't rust. Would be awesome imagine a truck running for 25 years in the rust belt, and have verty little rust. And no dry time for powder coat just a cool off time , and fans can cool it faster,

Your typical highway truck pulling a dry van weighs about 7,000 kgs. The lighter weight restrictions in the US. For off highway applications where there are no restrictions and your weight is 80,000- 100,000 kgs (not pounds), the extra 3,000 kgs doesn't matter.
