@@Tania-rg7jp I think you’ll find it’s not healthy to eat one meal a day at all. That’s not enough to fuel an active body. There’s very little evidence to support the supposed benefits of intermittent fasting. I understand some people do this because of cultural or religious reasons - this video was not about that. This is not a healthy or safe way to lose weight. I think you’ll find abbey would agree with that

completely agree. I do bodybuilding and powerlifting and eat very similar to Blaire. Its my sport. I also eat more flexibly when I am not competing. You will find a lot of athletes have to eat in a very 'obsessive way'. I love food and love life. But I know If I told people about what I eat during a prep I would get roasted by this dietitian. Sick of people pretending they can eat 3000 calories and be 10% fat. Truth is-they don't!

@@riribeasley4741 it is enough if you get enough calories from it. Shit you can still gain weight if you ate 3,000 calories (unless you’re a body builder or sum) in that one meal every day. It’s all about the calories not the frequency you eat.

I feel more empathetic than enraged. Yes, she’s an adult that should 100% be held accountable for giving these bad advices. But I think she also needs a lot of compassion atm. Calling off an engagement/long term relationship breaks you as a person, I’ve been there, esp. when her ex is now somehow already engaged again and publicly said mean things about Blair. I truly wish her well.

Nik isn't REALLY engaged. If you know how he is you'd know how much of a troll he is. He hasn't even been "physically romantic" with his "fiance" yet. It's a gag. He LITERALLY did an entire video of how him and Blair ended. They agreed to go to therapy and instead SHE decided to go on a Yacht with Azzyland and called Nik and said, "Therapy is for losers and she will never go to a therapist. She has bashed him many many many times on her Instagram and videos. She used to be such a lovely person that seemed to have such good morals and values. Yes, I completely understand the heartbroken state she is in. But she literally CHOSE to NOT fix her relationship. All men aren't dog water and to "get over someone" you shouldn't get "under someone." (Her advice) She has an extremely young fan base and personally in her recent videos she is setting horrible examples to her younger impressionable audience. I have been watching her for years and she has changed. Not for the better and it's so sad. She smokes cigs now...its just....idk. I hope she finds herself again. She TRULY seems like a sweetheart and kind soul. She has always had issues with her body. There is absolutely nothing wrong with therapy. Therapy is like a workout for your mental. As important as it is to exercise and work on your physical, it is the same when it comes to your mental.

I feel horrible for Blair. She used to have such a positive bubbly humour and a zest for food and Life in general. It's so heartbreaking to hear about her breakup and how it seems to be affecting her. I'll also say as far as her describing her diet as low effort: it definitely is low effort to not eat until well into the day when your experiencing depression. It is so much work for me to actually get up and eat when I'm in a depressed state to the point where I literally will wait until I'm about to pass out to put something in my body. I hope that's not what she's referencing, but I do understand kind of turning that into an intermittent fasting mindset.

I can relate. I went through a phase of severe depression for around a year. And yes, I wouldn't get up and eat even the food was already prepared and available for me to eat (food available in college mess). I will get up when either when I'm extremely fatigued from lack of food and water. I wouldn't get up even to bring a glass of water. Hopefully I am over that phase. I went under clinical supervision to overcome that.

Havent started the vid yet but I'm finding out from the comments her and nick broke up??!! 💔💔💔💔 I feel like this one vid of hers I haven't even seen entirely misrepresents her channel. She used to make a lot of "eating like____" vids that were super well researched and would even get into how they dressed and acted. It wasn't REALLY about losing weight, at least that's not what it felt like. It was about being open and honest about how diet culture really affects women at that age. She would always point out how terrible she felt on the harder diets and would show us her body in an effort to be relatable. I found her when I was trying to maintain my disordered eating habits and I stayed with her because it actually made me feel good to see that These Diets Do Not Work. And because her channel just didn't support my disorder eating ideas???? I feel like this review of her video was a bit unfair and was definitely looking for things to find disordered. I am still working through the vid and trying have an open mind.. but knowing Blair, I just dont think it's accurate...

When I hear Blair talk about her eating habits, it really sounds like the voice my eating disorder has in my head. The downplaying of her restrictive eating, using hot drinks/soup to reduce hunger and consume less calories, etc is just so familiar to me as someone currently struggling with anorexia. I don't think she posted this realizing how triggering and dangerous it can be, I think she might be unaware or in denial that she has an eating disorder (not that I'm trying to diagnose her!)

also know that eating veggie is way different than eating animal products. normally animal products have much more calories and fats in them than if you were to eat just veggie. also you do need to eat more on a veggie diet because eating a salad is not the same as eating it with steak. best way to stay heathly on a veggie diet is add mulitple groups of food in your meal and then you should cover the bases!

I've been vegetarian since I was 12, so I've spent a lot of time trying to learn about how to have a balanced diet. With things like veggie nuggets, the portion size is set with the idea that they will be a side to a larger meal. 190 calories is a snack, not a meal. On days when you're feeling lazy and the nuggets are going to be your whole dinner, go ahead and eat multiple servings. If you have more energy, make some sides to go with the nuggets so you can have a full meal. Sometimes I like to put mine in a wrap or on a salad. I've also tossed fake chicken into a curry sauce with some veggies and put it over rice. I like to aim for a good variety of foods in my day rather than a specific calorie count. I think Abbey has a playlist of good vegan WIEIAD videos that you can watch for inspiration.

Sadly, I remember spending my teens counting calories, avoiding all fats, being vegetarian because the doctors told me to, and drinking a lot of Diet Coke. What I got out of it was 100 lb weight gain from age 13 to 19, bad pcos, and bladder nerve pain (4 to 6 on a pain scale of 0 being no pain and 10 being childbirth/kidney stones/infection of the bone.) Blair’s caffeine intake and avoidance of good fats is harmful to her body and a bad example for others.

As someone who’s still struggled with an ED for 13 years and has been dealing w relapse, hearing your input and just straight hard facts and brutal honesty started to make me tear up. Especially about the “hacks”. It was a nice reality check/wake up call.

I was really sick from celiac’s disease and then got my brain stuck in this weird mode where food was the enemy (not for weight reasons, but because accidentally eating gluten with celiac’s is awful- at least for me). So I realized recently I had gotten in the habit of eating around 700-1,000 calories/ day. The side effects are terrible. I’m building back up now and repairing my relationship with food. Food made me really sick for a long time because I was unaware of my allergies. All this to say: those calorically and nutritionally dense foods are my favorite right now. Ya girl adds olive oil to anything I can. I’m this week up to 1400 calories/day and continuing to build 🙌🏻

I'm dealing with a similar issue but I have gastritis and acid reflux. I can't have anything in the capsaicin family. I didn't learn that from my doctor but from a culinarian friend. No peppers or tomatoes for me for at least a few years if I manage to heal my stomach. For a year after my diagnosis, I struggled to find food to eat and got to the point where I would just starve because it was less painful than my stomach feeling like it was on fire from being set off. Also, the fatigue from it all... horrible. All my doctor told me was what to avoid, not any ideas of what to eat so it's been not fun. I finally feel like I'm figuring it all out though. I have been at a steady weight for about a year now, I'm eating well and I feel pretty good.

Food aversion/allergies must feel nearly impossible to navigate and they can certainly lead to disordered eating if one isn’t careful. I’m sorry you went through that but I’m so proud of you for figuring it out and making it a priority to fuel your body.

I changed my diet for health reasons and was accidentally undereating. I'd been used to eating smaller amounts of calorie dense unhealthy foods (lots of sugar and highly processed food). The healthier foods I switched to filled me up after 800-1100 calories. After noticing I was below my healthy weight range, I tracked calories and realized I needed to make more changes to my diet--and I countinued to keep track until I learned how to meet my daily caloric needs. I also found out those calorie dense healthy foods are my friend! I love using avocado oil, avocados, eggs, peanut butter, cashews, almonds and almond flour, meat, etc. It's really hard to gain back weight once you go below your healthy weight range, especially if you are used to eating smaller portions. It took effort and I still have to pay attention, but I was able to increase calories over time and make it back to a healthy weight. I did lose some muscle and haven't gained all that back yet, but I can work on that later. I don't regret changing my diet at all (my health has improved), but it was definitely a learning curve--it was rough being underweight (did not feel good at all).

@@0nly0NE. I experienced the same thing! I needed to cut out a lot of food due to food intolerances and felt awful. I couldn't figure out why - I thought I was doing my body a favour. And I did, BUT I wasn't eating nearly enough. Calorie counting was a big no no in my mind but it really helped me once I tried it. It helped me figure out the proper amounts of food I need to eat in order to not slip into a drastic calorie deficit. Lesson learned!

@@totally_a_spyI am not familiar with blair's content, but even if no one commented negatively on her body (highly doubt it, she is a female creator on the internet after all), and instead they said positive things about her body shape, it could also make her feel pressurised to maintain that figure. The bottom line is that social media is poison to everyone's mental health, people are fixated on looking perfect and criticising other people's appearances as if they are just objects.

Thanks for reviewing this one. Much of the “advice” you’ve highlighted here was almost identical to the advice I got at 12yo. Advice that eventually led to my ED. People with a large platform (like BW) really need to be more mindful of the messages they send…unless, of course, they actually believe that they are giving good or healthy advice. In which case, they probably need professional help.

I subscribe to Blair but haven't watched her videos in a super long time. This is such an informative video! I'm overweight with disordered eating habits, and this video showed me how problematic/dangerous my relationship and behavior with food is. I always knew this, but some of the things you mentioned made me think, "Wait, that's not normal/good/healthy?!" Super eye-opening and helpful for me to think of ways to be more mindful of how I treat myself and my body. I will lose the weight, but I have to go about it in a way that's not damaging. Thank you!

Thank you for the work you do, it means so much to me and you’re a gift to the recovery community. As for Blair, I could see her going down this road well before the breakup. You cannot cycle through so many different ‘diets’ and expect to maintain any semblance of sanity. She was bound to break at some point. A very devastating, life changing break up led to me losing my appetite and developing my eating disorder when I was much younger. I’m hoping Blair can figure this out before it takes over. I think the worst part for me while watching this was that I’d see glimpses of her old personality at points, which is how I KNOW I came across when I was in the throes of my illness. Having my old self back has probably been the best part of recovery and it is so much more important to me than looking the way I did. I’m just so heartbroken for Blair, I hope she realises that so many people love her and we just want the best for her.
