I would say I eat intuitively as a vegan! For me, animal products are something my brain doesn't really view as food anymore (I don't want to criticize anyone with that, it's just a personal thing). I eat everything I want and I actually eat less of the "unhealthy" foods that way. When I tried to restrict I always ended up binging. Now I eat those foods too of course, but my body asks for veggies, legumes & fruit a lot. The only thing I'm trying to incorporate lately is eating enough fats & protein. As someone with epilepsy I want my diet to be relatively balanced. There apparently is some evidence on Keto having positive effects on epilepsy, but I don't really want to restrict like that....

I went on a low GI diet for acne at one point in my life. It was very strict, but I was desperate. I had SEVERE acne, my skin was super sensitive and reactive so I couldn’t use anything but the gentlest of products, and I was breastfeeding so medications were out. The diet did help quite a lot. I wouldn’t just arbitrarily recommend it to anyone though. It was a drastic step, and at that point I felt backed into a corner with no other options left. Not just “a breakout”, the acne I had was disfiguring. Things seemed to calm down after a period of time and I eat pretty much without restriction now. What I did was the Perricone diet for clear skin, if you ever wanted to delve into that. Could make an interesting video.

Did they focus a lot on food? I never noticed, and I’ve watched the show all the way through a couple times. They don’t do a “what I eat in a day” for any of the characters, and they rarely show how much of a meal they eat, let alone what they’re eating. The only things that stand out to me are Blair’s Thanksgiving binge-purge, Lily’s Chinese food date with Rufus, and Lily’s endless ordering of fries at a restaurant on Thanksgiving (or Christmas).

Calcium is a huge concern for a vegan diet and even though getting it from greens sounds good , you'd need to eat an unrealistic quantity to begin to count as an adequate calcium source and even than its not as easily absorbable as dairy . Almonds in large amounts can provide some calcium and fortified products like orange juice , and tofu could be a viable alternative .
@veganforthem76

@@veganforthem76 Its complicated . Some dark green vegetables that contain a lot of calcium like spinach also contain Oxalic acids which can actually block absorption . I did a lot of reading up on it since I have osteopenia but you may want to google it for yourself and see what you think . That's not to say that vegetables aren't good for you in many ways but I wouldn't rest assured as a vegan that it was meeting that particular need .

@@celestialcircledance I know, that’s why so said “some greens”. Kale, collard greens a and mustard greens, for instance, are low in oxolates and have a calcium bioavailability of 50% (dairy sets at 30%). That’s why I recommend calcium set tofu and fortified plant based milks.

To make cows grow at an unnaturally fast rate, the cattle industry feeds them pellets full of hormones. While low levels of naturally-occurring hormones are found in various foods, many scientists are concerned that the artificial hormones injected into cows especially cause health problems in people who eat them. And while organic or hormone-free meat might be a better option, you're also not eliminating your chances of ingesting the naturally-occurring sex hormones present in the animals when they were killed. The sex hormones progesterone, testosterone, and estrogen are all naturally occurring in animals, whether they've been given artificial hormones or not - so when you eat those animals, you're also eating hormones.

@@Inayapapaya I agree! Can you share what you eat for protein on vegan diet? I am very interested.

@@laurenelizabeth2505 we don’t need as much protein as the nutritional guidelines imply The truth is the government programs such as “my plate “ are sponsored by the meat and dairy industries Who create the guidelines… the same people who tell you you need milk to be strong are the same people who make the Protein requirements. It is very rare that a human has a protein deficiency unless a human is under eating. By eating in abundance Whole Foods such as fruits & veggies mainly (or potatoes, nuts, seeds, grains ,beans if you would like ) you are more then fine . Nature did not create protein bars these artificial factory produced junk processed powders And isolate are simply not necessary You don’t see elephants eating protein bars to be a strong as they are we don’t need any of this rubbish we need colorful vitamins from fruits and we need fiber , sugars and water found within these healing fruits and veggies nature set us out to eat in ABUNDANCE These foods naturally have less calories due to there water content so we need to eat bigger portions of them !!!! A tiny plate of greens for lunch 🥗 is not going to cut it ❌❌ 1 banana over a small bowl 🥣 of oats is not going to cut it ❌❌ 🍏🍎🍐🍊🍍🥭🍑🍒🍈🥑🫑🥒🥬🌽🥕🫒🍠🥔🍅🥝🥥🫐🍓🍇🍉🍌🧄🧅🫘🌰 Society is brainwashed it’s really sad. I don't like eating soy as a vegetarian because soy is made in south america and it is so bad for the Environment :((

The majority of soy production (the one you're referring to I assume, where all the beautiful rainforests get destroyed) is used to feed animals 😉 soy for human consumption makes up a small percentage and is generally better quality and sourced from local farms if it grows in that country. So, of you're concerned about the rain forest, soy isn't your problem, animal products are.

@W A is totally right. Also, at least if you’re in Europe, almost all soy that is consumed by humans here is grown right here in the European Union. And if you’re concerned about rainforest going vegan could be the way to go (if you’re able/comfortable with that) since cattle and animals require a shit ton of soy to feed them and also a lot of rainforest is burned down in order to habe farmland for cattles

Love how you think someone eating a vegan diet full of processed crap, ie nooch fake meats is the way to go, but someone eating fruit and veg no processed is restricting.

Straight up!! Similar to when she criticizes when people cut down fat in their diets, such as sticking to hard boiled eggs, yet she celebrates when people choose to indulge in deep-fried meals and dessert.

@@taylorervin1 it doesn't, but Abby's all for processed food, look at the built bars she eats then contradicts herself by saying sugars upset her sibo but every video she's sponsored by built bar, she just gives contradicting advice, sure she doesn't watch her videos back sometimes. As for her health issues perhaps if she stopped eating the rubbish she eats she might feel better.

Id love to see you review PLEXUS and/or OptaVia. They have become extremely popular in my community and I would be interested to see the nutritional value or lack there of.
