That was Dimash’s 2nd time ever performing on what he calls “the adult stage”. It’s a cover by Vitas who won 114 awards in Russia. There are videos of Dimash's performances on Singer 2017 that have cc's with English subtitles. I will listen to Dimash with or without subtitles, but it is so fun to read the comments of his competitors. One said it was stressful to have to sing after him. Regardless, they showed nothing but love to Dimash during his time on the show. You stopped the video before you could see Dimash's face when he first saw his father. He did not know he was there, and he wanted to surprise Dimash. He asked his dad if he sang well. I hope you react to all of Dimash's performances on The Singer. It's interesting to see how he progressed. Remember, when he appeared on that show he was 22, only spoke Kazakh and Russian, and only had one week to learn each song. His first 4 songs were sung in French, Russian, English, and Mandarin. All were great performances. Thank you for this video.

He went up each time. Vitas only went up twice. Wish you watched the longer version he didn’t know his dad was there and after when he realized it was the most heartwarming moment his dad walked him back to the room and Dimash asked him twice if he sang alright lol. Can you imagine. But that’s the respect he has for his dad. He also said if he knew his dad was there he wouldn’t have been so cheeky with his performance. But us dears definitely loved seeing him that way.

And afterwards he said that he was really uncomfortable that his father saw him like that🤭. Luckily he didn’t find out until afterwards because I love it when he’s like that on stage🥰. I love this video because he still seemed so innocent. Just a boy and he didn't seem as serious as he sometimes is these days. He still looked carefree. Another very emotional song is Daybreak also from The Singer competition. I highly recommend you watching the version with the story behind on the Gloria Wu channel first and then the one from his Bastau concert. It was the 8th performance of this competition. I don’t think there are copyright issues, because the videos on this channel are already edited and there are English subtitles. I think you will appreciate the Bastau version even more if you’ve seen The Singer version before. This song tells a very sad but true story. You really have to watch this with subtitles. It’s really important to know what the song is about. So please react to The Singer version first🙏🙏🙏. In the Singer version he was so sick and had a severe sore throat and fever. He lost his voice the night before his performance of Daybreak. I heard him say in an interview that it was very painful throughout the song, that his throat feels like shredded glass but he didn’t want to disappoint the people who stand behind him and so he pulled himself together and went on stage. He got 5 injections from this doctor in the hospital. And the doctor told him not to sing high notes. You can see how concerned the other competitors were and they suffered with him. They knew he was not doing well and one of them even gave him a very expensive Chinese medicine from his own inventory. The problem was his busy schedule between the performances and he didn’t have enough time to recover. He made very good friends there and many friendships still exist today. After the performance he lost his voice again. It’s unbelievable how he always manages to convey emotions to such a degree. Though I think in this one particular version the emotions he shows are mostly concern about his voice keeping up with the song and the pain he must have been in doing it. The Bastau version (no sore throat) of Daybreak is phenomenal and mind-blowing. So emotional and heartbreaking. Maybe you can do both together. Many reactors do and so you can see the difference between this two performances. In both versions I always cry my eyes out. I don’t know why I have to cry more. Because of the story or the fact, that he was in such pain and performed anyway because he didn’t want to disappoint the audience. Both version were in the same year 2017. The song Opera 2 was done originally by an artist named vitas. When he saw the dimash did his song better than him he forbade dimash from ever singing his song again. That is why you will not see him singing this anywhere else other than this video. I love you guys so much because you love Dimash as much as we dears do and you are Dears yourselves! Opera 2 is a cover of a song originally made famous by a Russian singer, Vitas. There was a little controversy after the performance began to go viral as the production team from Vitas made copyright claims, and some accused the singer himself of being "jealous" and wanting to squelch Dimash performing what was a signature song. Vitas' version has only one key change, and if you listen to both, Vitas, while impressive, doesn't have the resonance and voice quality that Dimash brings. It is in Russian. Dimash, as a Khazak, speaks fluent Russian. Dimash plays the controversy down, asserting that he and Vitas are friends and that it is the producers only and not the singer. I don't believe he sings the song anymore at his concerts, but others can correct me. Dimash goes from a high soprano C to an E at the end. In the second key change, the staccato notes or glottal attack does 2 things at least. It shows he is doing it live without a tape background, showing complete control and mastery. He's not struggling; if you know his other work, he can go higher with quality. He stays completely on the pitch, which is amazing. Many operatic sopranos would struggle to do this without screeching or losing pitch. For a male to do it is just incredible. Of course, the best singer in the world is an opinion, but there's no doubt that Dimash is a master technician in complete control of every element of his voice. I can't think of anyone better than him in this regard. He is a generational talent.

At the end he glances to the side and sees his Dad and he goes off stage and hugs him and he picks up his papa! Then they walk backstage and Dimash asks his Dad if he did good? and of course he says yes. Dimash said that if he did know that his Dad was there he might not have been so 'cheeky' with his performance. :D

Was he better than the original? Of course he was!!!! Lionel Richie did the same with "Hello". I believe that htose singers were affraid of Dimash'a talent and I think that as established musicians they should support young sisgers, like Lara Fabien did with "Adagio" or Han Hong that sang "Daybreak" that phoned tio Dimash expressing happinesss from him to sing her song in "I am a Singer" 2017. Terry Lin is from Taiwan and he was Dimash's senior (51 years old back then) at The Singer show where he was called Dimash's papa (Papa Lin). There is a version of this video with lyrics. The original artist, Vitas was so upset that Dimash performed this better and higher than him that he sued Dimash to not ever performed this piece again.

Hi guys, thank you for your reaction. The original singer of this song is " Vitas" is Russian singer, and the song is in Russian. I think this is the only time Dimash sang this song( there were some legal issues). Dimash's dad is in the audience, but he doesn't know. If you watch the MV till the end ,you will see his reaction as soon as he sees his dad( it's priceless). Great reaction, Jess and Mike! This is one of my favorite Dimash performances. The original was done by Vitas, a famous Russian singer. It is my understanding that after hearing Dimash's cover, he asked Dimash to never sing the song again. Dimash has honored that request. The original is on yt and yes it is very good but it is not equal to this cover.. in my opinion

8:05 there are alot of reactors that overdoe it, there are alot of reactors with blank face. We fate it. But.... audience of that competition show were musicians and judges. They decided who will win and still they were shocked about his performance.

Opera 2, is by Vitas a Russian singer. But Dimash went higher 4-5 times and Vitas was very mad and like Lionel Ritchie did when Dimash covered "Hello", tried to sue him for it and even though they lost, were able to forbid him from ever doing their stuff again 🙄....Sad really!
