It’s very insightful that you feel Dimash’s voice as a tool. In a couple of his interviews, he says he doesn’t like people to get so focused on how many octaves he can sing. The notes he chooses are what serve the song and what can take his audiences to new places. Dimash is a puriest in that his new genre of music which he calls “Neo-Classical” is growing and evolving as he learns new and old techniques and folk songs and songs. He is gifted by trying to serve his fans with a new experience and transportation to a new place and feeling. I don’t believe there is anything contrived by Dimash, just an honest interpretation and way to allow you to experience something true and magical. This is what I’ve managed to interpret from his interviews, desires to entertain his fans and create a new genre mixing classical, folk, newly composed music and the lyrics that sing within his song. He has also won a scholarship from his country to study directing at the New York Academy of Arts (I believe that’s the school he was awarded the year long internship.) This will also allow Dimash to learn to speak English better and hopefully reach more American music lovers. Please don’t see Dimash as an artist who only shows off his range, this is not what serves his songs or transportation into his music. He is a kind, humble young man with an incredible vocal tool that allows him to take his audience to different places.

I get goosebumps every time I hear it. I’m a real fan of movies that have such a mystical or oriental atmosphere. And it was such a great idea by Dimash to use the Kobysz for that. The kobyz is a very old two stringed Kazakh folk instrument and it’s wide spread among Kazakhs. The man who often is playing the kobyz in Dimash’s performance (also here in Stranger) is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. You often can hear this instrument when Dimash sings in his native tongue like Samaltau, Qairan Elim or Òmir Òter. He sang Stranger for the first time at New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international competition for young artists, founded in 2002 by Igor Krutoy. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury. Igor Krutoy, like so many other masterpieces, wrote this song specifically for Dimash and his incredible vocal range (in this song alone he sings 5 octaves F1-F6 I think). And the last note he held for 20 seconds. The way he switchs so affortlessly between the different registers and octaves in one song is so mesmerizing and unbelievable. Stranger was written by the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him.The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. Dimash is my grief ''therapist'', & I've seen many other commenters saying the same. He can reach emotions no other can, & he's galaxy class in my opinion. Rather a large ''elf'' at 6ft 3in.....hahahaha.... There are no wrong choices to react to but many songs have back stories as some are from true occurrences. Absolutely, Dimash's voice is an instrument, and like any classically trained professional musician, he develops and trains and enhances every element of it - to it's maximum potential. Dimash has been training his instrument - daily - for amost 25 years now. Since the age of 5 formally, but before this as well. I hear that he does 3 hours of vocal exercises daily, but people around him comment that Dimash 'lives' music. That he is singing and humming and creating music 24/7. No doubt in his sleep as well! An Italian classical { Operatic } vocal coach, on first hearing Dimash; described him as a 'War General'! Meaning that he marshalls ALL of his resources to attack every nuance of every note and every pause between with enormous intentionality and precision. In fact; Dimash trains his instrument like a Gold Standard Olympian. He also swims as much as he can - to maintain and expand his lung capacity { as we witness here! } and does martial arts for core body strength. So - yes, he is very serious about his craft! His parents are both well regarded Kazak singers, his mother has a high very bright soprano voice, and it's my belief he was already training his ear to perfect pitch in the womb! { Indeed, much neuro-developmental research supports this theory }. His stage presence and personal charisma are inate - but also professionally developed. Not the least as he has been up on stage with his parents from a very early age, but also via his training in Operatic and Musical Theatre productions. 😊

This is one of the oldest ways of making musical instruments in the history of mankind. It is not due to technical backwardness or the lack of metal devices. That was a great second reaction after SOS and yes when, You cry, I cry, we all cry. Well, it looks positively like you've been "Dimashified" 🤯...and quite possibly have become a Dear. We want you to do more, but they're so GOOD and they're ALL all PERFECT; so it's very difficult to decide in your position. HOWEVER, Ave Maria does have a perfect note at the end of his cover of Ave Maria. It's MORE perfect than all his other extremely perfect notes IMHO.😊 Dimash performed Ave Maria with no words. 😮 Still makes you cry 😢... probably make you 😢😂.
