When Dimash premiered this song at his concert he gave a speech prior to singing the song. I think that speech is important and gives context to the song and story: "Many thanks dear friends, before I perform the next song, let me say a few words. Thank you very much. We, the people sitting in this stadium, each of us is different, not totally alike one another, but we are all God's children, each of us with different talents. And, as I mentioned just now, right now is a bad time. In fact, I am not satisfied with the present situation. I have not seen how such situations evolved in the past, therefore I don't know what will happen next. But many people are suffering today because of a few individuals, it's really true. We, we the adults, consider ourselves to be "smarter" than the small children and innocents, but while we do our best to teach and educate our children, we forget that we also have some things to learn from those children. They are pure-hearted, kind, friendly, untainted and without egos and their love for people are pure. Young children have such qualities. I started writing this song I'm about to perform, three years ago. Generally speaking, my main purpose in writing this work is to call for peace in the world. It's a small composition that has burst out from deep within my heart. To tell you truth, many thanks to god and with your wishes I traveled to many parts of the world and met many different people during my tours. One thing I understood is that if you look at ordinary people, there is no such thing as a bad nationality, there is no bad nationality! I don't need to tell you what you already know about the reason for mentioning the topic of nationality here... Let there be peace in the world, Let there be peace. Let there be no war. Let no people, let no nationality, let no country suffer! Because after all, ordinary individuals, ordinary people are not at fault. The truth of the matter is, no nordinary person is guilty of starting a war! That's why the next song I'll be performing in your honor is about our common fate under one sky, it's called "The Story of One Sky". Hope you like it." - Pete from Dallas

Thank you for your reaction, This song is perfection both emotionally and vocally. To me, and I'm sure to many, it's the best thing anyone has ever sung and recorded, and the most valuable. There may still be questions about why so many people believe that Dimash is the best? I don't know, maybe only a robot will be emotionless after watching and listening to this video. This is a masterpiece of the century that will remain in history. #songofcentury #thebestuniquegeniussinger

IT IS A MASTERPIECE OF ART,you descreibed so well everything, the message, his voice is over the edge of all,he is a master in music, there are no singers, musicians that can achieve the high level of art,i am surprised that the world ,TODAY has not givem him the recognition of his art,to me i conclude with the hypocracy of the music industry business.they have given EMMY´S to underrated singers,GLOBES TO WORTHLESS singers, and a NOBEL PRIZE TO A BOB DYLAN,who could write some lyrics, but could not sing to save his life. The world has become a very injustice world, war is due to the injustices of life ,it starts at home and grows into the atrocities, obscurity ,ignorance, stupidity of humans.WE ARE A VERY PRIMITIVE SOCIETY,SAD BUT VERY TRUE! I loved your reaction, you are a very emotional lady and absorves the true feeling of the greatnesses of DIMASH geniality. He is over every singers league,he is sent by the creator to give us hope in the future soothing our souls.!

Great reaction, thank you. Our Dimash is very vocal about the futility and human cost of war. Qazakstan only achieved independence 30 years ago, Dimash is only 28. He knows the history of his homeland and of current and past heroes of the conflict. He detests war and has stated that wars are always between two people not two nations. He has stated that he is 'only a singer' so all he can do is 'use his voice'. This is Dimash's humility and him using his voice. Dimash composed the music and wrote the screen play. This was a project 3 years in the making on and off in-between commitments in many countries and his homeland not to mention his concerts of which there has been four in just this year alone. Dimash premiered The Story of One Sky live at his concert in Almaty, Qazaqstan on the 23rd September and the video released on the 24th. The emotion, heart and soul is real and I believe this was a way for him to vent his frustration at current world events. It’s mostly about life, death and rebirth. Director Alina Veripya is second to none in her field and portrayed everything magnificently.I believe she also directed ‘Okay’ for Dimash which was a great video. The Story of One Sky is an absolute mind blowing masterpiece and deserves unrivalled recognition from all corners of the earth. This makes you sad, cry and smile but leaves you questioning the direction we as a humans are travelling. More so this is about life death and rebirth. Dimash promised something epic and that was a colossal understatement. He delivered as always. ❤💕

Thank you Sabina for the response to this song. This is a very sad and emotional message. Dimash has been working on it for about 3 years, but why, unfortunately, now it is even more relevant and powerful. We all need peace and life! Yes, I felt it too, we all do, you're not alone here. It brings me to tears everytime I see this song. In the end, that was Dimash's son that was born at the end, grown up and leading a non violent group of all religions and cultures and people into the light of peace. If someone didn't feel what you did Sabina , they need to check their pulse or get over themselves. This is a masterpiece that should be up for a Nobel Peace Prise. He's already been presented with a meadal from the Pope for this. I myself since seeing this, have moved on from being a Dear to becoming a Disciple of Dimash. The world needs a leader like the real life Dimash. What an amazing human Dimash is. Way more that just a singer, Dimash is uniting us all for peace. Thank you for your reaction, I was wondering how you would take it, and your female friend that reacts with you needs to see this too, Sorry for forgetting her name

The Story Of One Sky - I have watched this many times and still find things out that i never thought of amazing video and i have said it before if anyone could bring peace i strongly believe Dimash could make it possible. This needs to be shared worldwide to show people there is another way. War is never the answer because the only ones to suffer are the innocent rewatched the song of Dimash today one line stood out to me One of the most profound lines in The Story Of One Sky is the line "Learn to share the love, Not shares" Not shares meaning stop making money out of war rich people have many shares in companies that profit from weapon manufacturing making them richer while the innocent suffer sadly this is why war exists. MONEY and GREED. The part in the video with the little girl and the people in the hallway were Dimash's family who had been wiped out the little girl whose body he picked up was his daughter, the baby that was born was his son who grew up to be Dimash grown up at the end. This video needs to be shown worldwide

At the end when the people were walking away, I think it represented all nations. We all live under one sky. There r no bad nations, only bad leaders. Stop war and human suffering. Hi - great to see you reacting to our amazing Dimash and his powerful message of love, hate, birth and death. I have watched so many reactors experiencing this slice of life horrors that sadly some parts of the world suffer over and over. Dimash is showing us what is most important to his being. His stunning vocals, the beauty of the melody the emotions that run right thru us as we watch. It’s raw and tragic. It’s beautiful and uplifting. Peace, understanding and respecting our differences without resorting to violence and division. Dimash is a phenomenal human being. We are so fortunate to have him in our world spreading this message of love and life.

This seems to be a social message. War is a means of expressing the contrast of what happens when we lose love for one another. The alternate message seems to be the call to unite, to stop dividing each other along national, social, religious lines in order to preserve life, love, friendship, and the land for our children. A very honest looking message. Sadly such social messages are generally lost during conflict…very relevant today. Sabina..a heartfelt reaction clearly demonstrating the emotion and message of the song..beautiful.

Dimash is the little boy who was drowning. The boy who saved him became the military leader and the woman giving birth was the little girl who became Dimash’s wife and that was their daughter who was killed. The baby grows up and is Dimash at the end leading the people. Full circle and the next generation. Choosing life Script - Dimash Qudaibergen On September 23, on the solo concert of Dimash in Almaty we saw the premiere of his song "The Story of One Sky". On September 24, at the artist's fan meeting, the audience saw the clip of this composition for the first time. Dimash Qudaibergen’s 12-minute work is dedicated to the unity of people on our planet. We are all divided into races, nations and religions, but we are all children of one planet and live under one sky. Life is the highest value. No sacred book calls for the destruction of people. We must learn to be friends; it is impossible for a few adults to cause millions of children to suffer. The future of our planet, the future of people is in our hands, let there be peace in the world. We are children of one Home, one Earth and one Heaven

Sabina, most reactors have the available subtitles , that are in English turned on for the entire video. And YES, the uniform has the exact insignia that is the necklace. The leader of the soldiers causing the war is the other boy from the beach. During the video he is even holding the necklace in his hand like he did when Dimash put it there. They said this is the most expensive music video ever made. And Dimash composed it. The lyrics were by a woman but Dimash did everything else over a three year period, including pay for it. I think he deserves a peace prize for this!! 🎶🎶👱‍♀👱‍♀👗👗👠👠💓💓

I felt this with you. I have watched this video many times and am overwhelmed each time by Dimash’s heart and humanity in addition to his talent. Only one note, in the culminating scene, you referenced “revenge”. I don’t believe this was entirely a fair comment: perhaps a bit oversimplified…. Dimash’s lyrics from the beginning provide his conflict. Our Piper, referencing the closeness and almost endearing element of this enduring friendship. Piper saved Dimash from drowning as a child. He can’t be completely evil, right? But his ideology has led to loss of lives - including the little girl (daughter of Dimash and the girl from the beach). Dimash is filled with conflict. He mourns the loss of his family (especially his daughter), but also the friendship from childhood. Full circle: he owed his own life to Piper, but Piper took away Dimash’s life (aka family). Dimash knows that to choose life, he needed to sacrifice his life and end the tyranny of Piper’s rule. Revenge? I’m not sure I’d call this revenge… it is much more complex than simple revenge. This is a powerful and insightful production with gradients levels from light to dark back to light. Beautiful reaction! Prayers for peace from Canada!

@ Cynthia Bruce.....interesting comment about the revenge aspect. I got the feeling that point Dimash's character felt there was nothing left to do. His family was murdered ( he didn't know his wife had survived and given birth) , he had nothing left to live for but by hunting down his childhood friend Piper he could do a final act of violence by shooting him, thus ending the war and probably saving countless lives.

@@lindahake1666 I agree. Choosing life - throughout the video- often was coupled with death. I believe one of the first times Dimash sings choosing life was the scene where Dimash was grazed by a bullet and had to shoot or be shot. Kill or be killed. It is a very basic idea but reflective of the overall theme. Not a simple concept of revenge, but turning to the right way. Very nuanced video.

I always think that the "bad guy", just before Dimash killed him, looked like he was beginning to remember his life as a child (as he looked at the necklace) and to wonder about whether what he was doing was really bringing the unity he wanted. He also looked upward which made me wonder if he was praying or considering a change in his ways. But Dimash didn't give him the chance to change and choose life. He was not armed when Dimash killed him. I can't see that Dimash is encouraging us to go and kill the "crazy leaders". Yes, that can end their life but it doesn't at all ensure that the war will end. I had expected Dimash to be a character who showed the right way, but I think he showed what can happen to a "normal" loving person through the horrors of war. They can be brought to kill even a friend. I can completely understand why he would want to do that, but I think it's not the right way.

@@anahills3836 good observation. I don’t believe that anyone is born evil . I am of the view that a person may also do something bad if they believe it is for a good reason. Unfortunately, I also suspect that bad is a bit like an addiction- the longer someone continues to do bad stuff, the more difficult it becomes to stop. The downward spiral.

Hi Sabina ... Dinah here. Beautiful reaction from you and I was crying with you by the end, even though I've cried so much watching this over & over already! I was at his Almaty concert 23rd Sept. and heard him sing this live, the first time I'd heard it. It blew me away & tears were streaming & I couldn't speak at the end of it. As was everyone around me. The pain & passion in his voice & his performance was beyond ANYTHING I've seen from him yet, and that was my 5th live Dimash concert. He left his soul on the stage that night. The next night at a 'Meeting with Dears' he showed us the MV for the first time & watched it with us. I had the same reaction to it ... just dumbfounded. It's a masterpiece & he is clearly a genius! My love & respect for him has just levelled up a hundred-fold. This was more than just a project for him ... he revealed his heart in a very vulnerable way ... how hard that must be for a performer ... but he has always had honesty & integrity in his work. A clear message & more importantly a clear visual of ALL faiths walking together toward the light ... powerful & deeply profound & so what our world needs right now! 'No to war' is first a no to the war that rages inside ourselves & in our communities ...❤️

Dear Sabina, I was beginning to worry about you, because we haven't heard from you at all. All the more I am happy to hear that you had a nice holiday and to see you back with this reaction to Dimash's latest masterpiece. This song breaks me down and heals me at the same time. The melody is insanely beautiful. It keeps running after me, even if I don't let it play (not that I mind) I'm addicted to it - again - seems to be a permanent condition ... I don't know how many times I have watched the video in the meantime. Especially at the beginning I had to watch it several times because it was impossible for me to grasp all the details, even if I understood the main message immediately. Some things I only understood because of contributions from other Dears in the comment columns, simply because I lacked the specialist knowledge, such as what kind of tool the Talisman actually is. I'm really excited about what a great storyteller Dimash is. Not that I'm totally surprised and didn't expect that from him at all, but with this script he proved once again that he is not only a gifted singer and musician. And he has also presented his very solid acting skills. I already said it in another Reaction video, but I like to repeat it here: "Give this man, with golden throat and balls of steel (and his director) an Oscar, a Grammy and the Nobel Peace Prize for this extremely brave, aesthetic, outspoken and engaged video - Amen!" I'm really excited to see what's next from Dimash. Lots of love from Switzerland 🤗🇨🇭

Dit moet je ook zien als hij live zingt in zijn land want de video leid je af van zijn vocale stem. 👏👏👏Thanks for your sensitive reaction to this masterpiece !! 🙏🙏🙏Please enable the lyrics 💕💕💕 You Will definitely enjoy them 🙏🙏🙏 I’ enclosing a deep and knowledgeable analysis from Heiderose Kober that you might enjoy: « This is subtitled "Requiem” but it is also a vision and a call to action. Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the mystic teachings and symbolism of the major world religions as well as Kazakh shamanism. It is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14, 2022, at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” signed jointly on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting. Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I only touch on some of what struck me in the symbolism. The music is a dissertation all by itself. The pendant is an interesting element. It is a gnomon from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. (Thank you, Snarky Tart for that information). In the MV, the child who later becomes the military commander never puts on the necklace. After Dimash, the boy, gives his friend the pendant, the camera focuses on his hand and shows that his friend has bent the gnomon in anger over being rejected by the girl. Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North, and he has lost his moral compass. Later, we see a version of the gnomon as the military insignia on the uniforms of the commander and his soldiers, but distorted and without the hole that allows light to shine through rendering it useless as a compass. When we lose the original intent of a symbol by twisting it into something it is not or by just paying lip service, it no longer has any spiritual meaning. At best it becomes a useless prop, at worst it is used to mislead and manipulate people. Contemporary music is also present: With the phrase "We have passed the moment of Imagine," Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must act and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way. The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken, we fail, or our dreams are not realized. If in our pain and disappointment, we turn to anger and blame instead of acceptance, power instead of love, greed and envy instead of generosity, hatred instead of forgiveness, and revenge instead of justice, we sow the seeds for conflicts that can turn into war. The Piper's call is seductive as it promises redress for our grievances, control over our circumstances, and power over those who thwarted us, and this appeals to our wounded ego. However, let's remember that the Piper is a symbolic figure of Death from the Middle Ages, often used as a metaphor for trusting and following charismatic but dangerous and malevolent leaders to certain death. Even if we resist, as the adult Dimash character does, we often employ the same methods and weaponry as the Piper, and thus those who fight back betray peace as well because peace cannot be won through violence. That is the dilemma of those of us who did not start the war, who do not support the war, but are forced to respond in order to defend ourselves and those we love. How can we rid the world of evil without becoming what we fight against? The burning sign "Waldenberg" is a reference to the end of WWII when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht close to the end of the war in April 1945 in the part of Germany where I grew up. I have seen the aftermath of war as I was born a few years later when much of Germany was still in rubble. Waldenburg is only 28 miles from my hometown and was completely destroyed as you can see from the picture. Many of the dead in those bombed-out buildings were women and children. The good guys defeated evil but at what price? War is not the answer. We must find better ways to keep evil in check. iowaculture.gov/history/education/educator-resources/primary-source-sets/world-war-ii/american-troops-move-through The last movement is powerful: The cries over the loss of a beloved child and the cries of giving birth to new life are presented as a call-and-response grounded by a powerful Om chant that creates a sacred space, reminding us that death and birth are both sacraments and are interwoven in the tapestry of life. Dimash's vocalization and the pilgrims representing world religions and religious leaders, past and present, walking together shift the narrative toward the final conflict and finally redemption. When Dimash’s character decides to avenge the murder of his daughter, his state of consciousness is reflected in the darkening sky with lightning bolts of anger accompanying the storm of his emotions that buffets the pilgrims and hinder progress. The fog of war obscures the light. When he is killed after exacting retribution, he is dropped back into the "sacred womb" of Earth, the ocean of love and mercy, and is cleansed of the old hatreds and grievances that only bring more death and suffering. He breaks the wheel of endless war and suffering by choosing life. Dimash's scream of “we’re choosing life” is that of giving birth: the old earthly consciousness of an eye for an eye has to die to make way for a new spiritual consciousness that embraces all life. Soul is breaking free to return to its natural state of love and purity as exemplified by the images of the children and the newborn baby. The blowing of the shofar signals God's mercy for humankind when it turns from wrong to right: in the Zohar, the book of Jewish mysticism, it says: “When human beings repent of their sins, they blow the shofar on earth. Its sound ascends On High and awakens the heavenly shofar, and so mercy is aroused and judgment is removed.” Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash's character in the form of his son becomes a spiritual guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage, race, and spiritual orientations are very different from one another. By focusing on our common destination rather than on our differences, we can walk together in peace and love and mutual respect. Carl Jung wrote: “Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” This is what Dimash has done with this work; he has made the darkness conscious. We can only raise our individual and collective consciousness by bringing to light what needs to be healed in our lives and our world, and then we need to work together to restore wholeness to what is broken and bring about peace and unity, one step at a time. We don’t have to wait. We can start right now. As the hymn tells us: "Let there peace in the world, and let it begin with me." Baraka Bashad. »

Hi Sabina, welcome back! Thank you for your sincere reaction! Have you noticed that Dimash is the main solder right from the very beginning of the war scene, when he was shot in the arm, many people miss that? When I first watched this MV, it broke me, I became very emotional, it was heart wrenching, to say the least! 😢 Dimash has worked very hard for 3 years composing the music for this song, and around 20 days to make this MV. It turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! I was under the impression that it was the most expensive video ever made, too. I believe that Dimash deserves THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE, for his selfless hard work and tireless efforts, not only for this MV, but for trying to bring the world together in love, peace and harmony, through his music, MVs and many charities he dedicates his time to. He is a Legend and will go down in History. The mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, and the necklace which was made by the young Dimash and shared with his friends symbolizing lifelong friendship and unity. The Piper grew up and started a war, using the symbol of the necklace as the crest on his army uniform. This is my breakdown of the story, as I see it: 1) Dimash, who was drowning at the beginning and at the end. 2) The Piper, the one who saved Dimash, and who became the leader, and who was killed by Dimash at the end. 3) The young girl, who died in childbirth, became Dimash’s future wife, had two children together; a daughter who was killed by the Piper's army; and the birth of a son at the end, who inherited the necklace from her mother…, they were all torn by the war. For the symbolic aspects, Dimash is showing the different cultures and religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hindi, etc.), through throat singing, which is called the REQUIEM (mass for the souls of the dead), from different religions. The Pilgrim, Shepard or Wise Man at the end of the video was Dimash’s newborn son, born in his image and grows up to guide the Representatives of different religions and race from different Nations to the light, for a new beginning living together in peace, tolerance, love and harmony. I’m choosing life!!🙏🙏 See you in your next reaction. Love from Canada 💖

The burning sign "Waldenberg" is a reference to the end of WWII when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht to end the war in April 1945. Waldenburg was completely destroyed as you can see from the picture. Many of the dead in those bombed out buildings were women and children. The good guys defeated evil but at what price? iowaculture.gov/history/education/educator-resources/primary-source-sets/world-war-ii/american-troops-move-through The imagery of the denouement is powerful: The cries over the loss of a beloved child and the cries of his wife giving birth to new life are presented as a call-and-response grounded by a powerful Om chant that creates a sacred space, reminding us that death and life are both sacraments and are interwoven. Dimash's vocalization and the pilgrims representing world religions and religious leaders, past and present, walking together shift the narrative toward the final conflict and finally redemption. When Dimash’s character decides to avenge the murder of his daughter, his state of consciousness is reflected in the darkening sky with lightning bolts of anger accompanying the storm of his emotions that buffet the pilgrims. Its sound ascends On High and awakens the heavenly shofar, and so mercy is aroused and judgment is removed.” Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash's character in the form of his son becomes a guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage, and spiritual orientations are very different from one another.

One of the best reactions to this masterpiece that I have yet seen!!! I was totally where you were at each stage of the song. The only difference for me had to do with the scene where Dimash is facing the anguish of his daughter being brutally killed and left to lay in the rubble. I am a father to two (grown) daughters and when I watched Dimash's superb acting in this scene, I sobbed - you know, that ugly cry, when it''s hard to catch your breath? I have been a Dear since the very beginning of 2017 and I am still continuously amazed with Dimash's talent! Dimash Qudaibergen is truly a genius - and in so many realms. I really believe he was sent here to teach, guide, help and (most importantly) inspire, especially in relation to love. I'm a 70 year old man and I have never - ever- been witness to anyone like Dimash. I feel blessed that I have lived long enough to "know" him. I truly is a mensch!!!!! Thank you, Sabrina, for your heartfelt response!!!

It took him 3 years so compose and he also wrote the script to the video. . I so hope I can see it live sometime. If you dident gett some what happend...here are some of how I see it..Dimash was the little boy that was saved and the girl become Dimash wife and there dother that was killed of soldiers from the man that was the boy that saved Dimash. That man was angry and desperat becouse he loved the girl/woman to and she shoose Diamssh! So he started the war in Dimash town do to that. The women giving birth with Dimash and her son died during the birth. There son grow up in the end to unite every human and every religion to a peacefull and loving life. Dimash also sang John lennons "Imadgine" that the time is over for dream about peace we have to act. Think abouth wath we al can do to gett that result in the end. He dosent care of what religon you have back to the text in the end...everyone should acept outhers regrdles of skinn couler, religon or anything els that we today divides people!! Think on how we are actting to outhers, think before you say hurtfull words and try to understand them as a human insteed. Becouse we live on 1 earth and under 1 sky!!!! We are al the same as humans need love and understanding and also lett everyone have there religion. This is Dimash masterpeace and every human should see/hear this!! This is so needed today. He is brave to do this kind of MV/movie and he always stand for what he sayes and it is alwayes peace and love!! Here you have something completley other version of music but so good to. If youy havent hearrd of Home Free I can just hope you react to them. Bravo Dimash! Gracias Sabrina por apoyar siempre a Dimash! 💕❤️🇲🇽💕💕🇲🇽💕❤️🇲🇽
