And that’s the weird part - Jaws was a movie by the same director just a few decades before that spawned an entire genre of knockoffs. And nobody in Hollywood even wanted to *try* and take a piece of that pie?!

Definitely. Would loved to have seen some tribal dinosaurs battling out with aliens. I'm surprised Turok still hasn't gotten a movie yet

Would be nice if there was a more faithful adaptation to the novel Carnosaur or a re telling of Jurassic Park, more in line with the book. Keeping the dark horror element in either.

IDK if this necessarily counts, but there was supposedly a 3-quel to Disney's Brother Bear in development! Brother Bear 3: Secret of The Dinosaurs! I assume it didn't get very far because who had opened a pre-history textbook said "... You do know dinosaurs and humans didn't live together, right??""

Congrats on getting recognized Diego! You definitely earned it. The earth mover losing to the dinosaur sounds like this was meant to be a deliberate twist on the formula Carnosaur and Dinosaurus established. Given the timing it would have been more the latter.

Diego! Have you checked out Primitive War? It’s a brutal dino-horror set during the thickest days of the Vietnam War, where a catastrophic Soviet project accidentally yanked hundreds of dinosaurs into the late-60s. It is _awesome._ Also. Practical effects paired with computer imaging could do wonders for filmmakers that want to keep consistent with their vision _and_ cater to the idiot producers trying to earn their credit spot. The _problem_ with CGI is the amount of time and processing power it takes to fully render a computer generated object that has to move and maneuver across the set and screen. Production diaries around the Jurassic World movies are _nuts._

Fun video! Thank you! Forgive me if you've already covered this, but did you know there was rumoured to be an "L.A. Raptor" movie in production at one point, based on the black-and-white indie comic of the same name? Nothing ever came of it, as far as I know.

For Dinosaurs vs. Aliens. Its likely the reason it ended on in NFTs is likely cause no movie company wanted to touch it. Especially after the 2nd Independence Day and cowboys vs aliens. Probably felt the whole concept didn't make sense. For rulers of the apocalypse with the advancement of modern puppets designs and tech, you can easily make a reasonable movie with authentic looking dinosaurs with only needing CGI to erase legs or similar.

I’m still pissed that the Dinosaur vs Aliens graphic novel series was abandoned. I remember watching the different motion comic videos on KZfaq. It’s a shame that the IP is being associated with NFTS now.

Something to look into (whether as another installment of this series or as its own video) is Merian C. Cooper and Willis O'Brien's never made epic, "WAR EAGLES." It's a Lost World type story - well, I guess more like The Land That Time Forgot since it takes place in antarctica - but with a fun twist: the native peoples are descendants of Vikings and ride gigantic eagles. There's of course dinosaurs, and even ape-men. The finale was to involve the protagonist (a pilot who crash-lands into the valley) leading a war party of eagle-riders into battle against a fascist air force (originally explicitly Nazi but later turned into a vague european regime) attacking New York City.

I really don't like people like Disbrow who always talk about people needing to appreciate the craftsmanship of practical effects... while also completely dismissing CGI as inferior and fake. Putting aside the fact that's insulting to CG artists who worked hard to make some revolutionary advances in the field and manage to create some amazing CG creations, that's rich coming from someone who was making a low-budget movie with dinosaurs that look like Carnosaur rejects with half the budget of a Roger Corman production. Just because an effect is practical or it's an animatronic that doesn't make it good or "real."
