Like most of Dire Strait's classics, this song is a perfect combination of vocals, instruments and lyrics. "Timeless ballad" would be an understatement.

Easily one of the most literate singer/songwriters of all time. And he's in my top 5 greatest guitarists as well. This is my favorite Dire Straits songs----it's perfect!

Dire Straits have been a part of my life,since a was a teen-ager!! I never go tired of listening to them!!! Or Mark Knopfler or even David Knopfler as such!! I love Dire Straits. I was listening to this song, let alone all Dire Straits hits, since I was in diapers. Mom and dad had the 8track player playing in one room, the vynle (spelling?) phonogragh player playing in through out the house. It was AWESOME!!!!
