For this video I am going to be unboxing the latest Lionsgate release of Dirty Dancing on 4K Blu-ray Steelbook and I'm going to show a 4K and Blu-ray comparison clip.

Softness is a product of a lot of 80s source material I am afraid. This is probably the best it will ever look and sound. Love the side by side clips!

Without question its by far the best the movie has looked and for that reason alone I'm happy that I picked it up because I'm such a massive fan of the movie. Great to hear the side by side clips are working. Thanks for that my friend

Great review Keith I'm not a huge fan of dirty dancing but I liked the new presentation you have done on your video the split screen and graphics look great and I thought the comparison split screen showed that the 4k prestation was superior of dirty dancing keep up the Great work my friend and I have one more thing to say wolverine's!!!!!!!!!!

Agree 100%. The atmos mix makes it worth the purchase. I picked up the steelbook too and it's way more impressive in hand. For an old movie made for a low budget it is the best it's eveey looked but very soft. Great vid.

It's easily the best the movie has ever looked and even though it's a soft presentation I'm still happy to own it. Thanks for checking it out

Wow, you've bought another release of Dirty Dancing. I didn't see that one coming, as I wasn't aware it's now been released in the UK and Ireland as well. It's strange how this movie gets a 4k release in what seems to be a completely randomly picked country every once in a while and all of them have completely unique packaging. I'm not going to talk about the painful experience with the US release, but I'm very happy you now finally own a 4k Steelbook version with Dolby Atmos. Hopefully this'll relieve the pain from the past 14 months a little bit. I'd say the name of the Italian company is pronounced "Four Cult", as I think it's just "4k Cult" put together. That's some pretty amazing information about the backstory of this movie. I'd never heard that before.

Hey Patrick. This video was 2 years in the making. It's not the Steelbook that I wanted but it is a Steelbook and it is a beautiful One. To also get it with Dolby Atmos is the cherry on top especially after hearing it and how good it sounds. So a happy ending in the end. Thanks for checking it out my friend

Hi Keith, I paused it at the overview of the hotel at 9.15 and there's a good upgrade on the grass, colours, shadow detail and overall resolution which you can see on the stone tiles around the windows and the roof tiles, in that particular scene anyway. But it's always the HDR and contrast that that sells 4k for me and they probably couldn't do much more with it. Glad you enjoyed the atmos, I hear alot of musical heavy films are good for atmos, stuff like bohemian rhapsody ect, I'm new to home atmos myself and have only seen moonfall as a big atmos film and the jurassic park trilogy on dts-x so far but I'm slowly getting more. I also downloaded the reel wood 250gb of demos to try on my nvidia shield aswell.

Hey Steve. Again a huge thank you for the feedback and great to hear that you could see The Subtle differences. Nothing near as obvious as the pitch black comparisons but still a difference nonetheless. The Atmos was very special and Bohemian Rhapsody sounded amazing as well. Hi Keith, Nice collection you have there of dirty dancing, I own the keepsake edition and the 4K Best Buy steelbook. I only picked up the Best Buy steelbook up recently then the UK 4K steelbook was announced but that’s always the way. Saying that the UK and American steelbook has different artwork. Great video with lots of info, loving the new comparison part on your video also. Great work and a great film. Take care

I had the best buy exclusives coming in the post a couple of years back and it got lost and as soon as I got the Steelbook in the door I was half expecting that Steelbook to show up. No such luck. Thanks for the feedback on the comparison clips. Great to hear they're working

Nice to see some of the previous releases of Dirty Dancing 😊👍 didn't know about that back story to the movie 🤔🤔 I might watch that documentary, sounds interesting 👍 I like how the info is on the plastic slip and you can remove it 👌 it's funny that this movie hasn't looked amazing, it seemed like it's a movie that would've looked great but hey what can you do 😊 like I said before.... I've never seen the movie 😳😳🤩 this review has made me want to give it a go!! So well done with a great review Keith 🤩🤩👍👍

Hey John. I think the documentary is called movies that changed the world and dirty dancing was one of the episodes. It's a very entertaining watch and you should check it out. But before you do I definitely recommend seeing the movie first. I still can't get over that you have not seen this movie. You owe it to yourself my friend

Had a £5 off £15 spend at Amazon so just picked this up for £25. I also bought it for myself and not my wife and not ashamed to say it. Great movie, I own the 30th anniversary collector set but look forward to experiencing the Atmos track.

Hi Keith, Now I’m not a fan of the movie at all 😬as dancing movies are not my normal usual type of movies to watch. But interesting info you mentioned which I never knew into the casting of the movie 👍. Well done in supplying the specs info for fans who might pick u the movie. Great work as always in the video, even though it’s not a movie that I was a fan even though I like Patrick Swayze in other stuff.

Love this movie :) I've got the US 4K :) not sure about having the blu ray release, maybe the standard edition somewhere but I have various dvd special edition releases and of course the VHS... and both vinyls 🤣🤣🤣 My mates always rinse me for loving Dirty Dancing cos I cry everytime I watch it and got the nickname WeepyCooper, never live that one down! 🤣🤣🤣

I am such a massive fan of this movie myself and I have to own it at least 9 times on physical media and yes I have it on vinyl twice just like yourself. It leaves me in tears myself and I love how it makes me feel when I'm watching it and after I finish watching it. So trust me I'm not going to rinse because of how much you love this movie. I'm right there with you

Is there much of a difference between the Lionsgate and 4kult Atmos vs. DTS 5.1 master audio soundtracks? Or has the DTS mix also got a remix/remaster which is better than the previous blu ray editions?

Honestly there is a monster difference with the Dolby Atmos soundtrack you get with this lionsgate release. There's a great sense of presence now and wait till u hear some of the music on Dolby Atmos compared to the DTS 5.1. It's staggering the difference

Roadhouse is a good bit of fun, but for me Donnie Darko is Patrick Swayze's most interesting performance.

Crazy same steelbook in the states is only bluray. I got it for 5 bucks at target few days ago.

It's been years since I last saw this movie, a classic from the 80s. Thank God they went with Patrick and not Billy. Still can't believe he's no longer with us, gone way too soon. Nice looking steal book Kieth, where do you find the space for all of these, maybe an extension is on the horizon.

Hey Gary. It's probably one of my favourite movies of all time definitely in my top 10. Billy Zane would have been a weird choice but taking nothing away from him he's a great actor. But like I said in the video Patrick Swayze was born to play this role. I honestly do not know where I keep finding room and I mentioned an extension to my fiance the other day and she told me straight out to f*** off 😆 🤣. So the extension is out. FOR NOW.

I think the proper pronunciation is “4K KULT” or, “4 KULT,” with the “K” simply being a play on words. That’s what I believe they are going for, anyway…

I honestly don't know which way to pronounce it because I think when I showed that of the first time I pronounce it 4 Kult and I was told it was wrong. I officially give up 😆 🤣

@@millerman9991 but I'm pretty sure they knew cause when it came to his audition his mom choreographed it and they were well aware of his dance background particularly his mom patsy she was well known in the industry

I'm just going by what was said in the documentary. Apparently he hid away his dancing background because he suffered an injury in American football and he wasn't sure if he could dance anymore.
