You have no idea how I hate all the Childproof device in this world!!!!!!! Theses coaster are the worst! It would make sense if it was the opposite: locked when you sit on the chair. Unlock when you are not on the chair, so it's easy to move around. I have not disables them yet, but I will. Thank you for your video Thumbs up from Montréal!!!!

Thank you so much Adam, I have spent hours trying to replace these wheels and now I know I don't have to.

Thanks man, my little brother is a scrawny 6 year old and isn't heavy enough to activate the roll on my old office chair that now sits at his home-work desk. This solves the issue well!

How ironic isn't! A safety device that is equally bad for parents and their childs!

The last thing I need is for my office chair to roll when I'm trying to get up. I have osteoarthritis, unlike many of the commenters and video creator, so I'm so grateful for self braking caster wheels. And they do move when you get up, for those of you complaining. If you had debilitating arthritis, you might understand why it's so helpful.

An excellent video Adam. Very clear and well lit. Your nails look well manicured, just a pitty you still cant find your razor. Instead of Weekends with Adam The Bloke maybe you should rename your channel to Weekends with Adam The Hobo 😂

@@Petrolhead66 There's another design they do with a round hole in the bottom. I believe you can screw an M6 machine screw into it to push the wheels up off the brakes.

i wish you had a better angle (top down) when doing the cutting... also, you should use a pencil or laser pointer to point to where and what you're cutting... the bottoms of my wheeels look slightly different, so mayb that's the issue, but it's confusing what you're cutting...

Thank you for your feedback. You can probably find another video here on KZfaq with clearer images. Ikea do use two different types of braked castors so if your wheels look a little different then it may be you have the other type which can be locked off in a different way.

Sorry the audio's not brilliant, I was just using the microphone built into my phone. If you watch through it though you should be able to see what needs to be done and the sound gets a little louder.
