The MHT300 didn't work for my setup. It wasn't passing color correctly from my TiVo to my Sony 75X940C. My custom installer who is very knowledgable tried different HDMI cables, different Sony TV inputs, etc. It also wouldn't switch inputs reliably. I would go from HDMI 1 (TiVo) to HDMI 2 (AppleTV) to HDMI 3 (Blu-ray player) and then back again. When it went back, HDMI 2 (AppleTV) was just a black screen. At one point, the receiver totally locked up requiring a power plug pull. My installer called McIntosh who said they were aware of this issue and will be releasing a new firmware update. Not what I expected from McIntosh. I have an entire McIntosh system in the Man Cave (with the MX123) and it works flawlessly from Day 1. This product feels like it was rushed to market. I am sure McIntosh will get this fixed, but I asked my guy to take it back for now. I'll probably give it another try, but wait a few months...

Doesn't take DSD or analog inputs. No streaming. Remote has On /OFF @ different locations on the remote which is a bit irksome. Should be able to process Imax at this price, but can not. However, it is built to out live you and your progeny.

Does this have wifi radio on it, allowing you to listen to about 4000 channels of radio world-wide? Many people are commenting about the power, but nobody covers the functions it can manage.

This is not McIntosh’s first AVR. The MHT100 and the MHT200 came before it.

Love the way it looks, but seems a bit light for $8k. You could get a Denon 3800 ($1400 plus another 400 for Dirac) plus 3 Buckeye class D amps (4x150w at $1K a piece) and have the ability to run 7.4.4 for about $4400. Don't get me wrong, McIntosh build quality is excellent and it's beautiful, but I just don't see the value. Your channel is awesome, keep up the great work!

Yea price is a little steep. For $8000 I would have liked to see 11 or 13 channels, at least pre-outs. Thank you and thanks for the support!

I don't see the value in putting big money in this. Processors tend to have a shelf life of about 10 years. Personally, I'd put money into amps, as they can last much longer. This way I don't feel terrible when updating processors more often.

Yeah but this is 8K capable. 8K TVs are barely even out yet. So, it’s already got a head start. I’d like to listen to the sound quality of one before I make my ruling.
