One amazing thing I can see is how the vocalists are not all on the "soft side", i meant, Haram and Rora are both amazing vocalist but when its Haram she's more edgy but Rora's more ethereal... Same with Chiquita being more sassy and Pharita more on the elegant side. RukAsa just killed it tho. Asa wrote for this and if that's her own verse then its mad!!! For Ruka I feel that her verse is what Hyunsuk participated in but we'll never know until they spill it. I like the song because it just shows what should be initially shown for debut. Not too crazy (although I do got crazy lol) and just leaves impression. The structure is the common YG song structure but the unique vocals and raps made it amazing and different, kinda reminiscent if 2NE1 especially in some visuals. Their vocals definitely shine too. If people dont like this then they are probably not used to YG songs lol

Im truly a fan of rappers before I get into YG girl groups. Then I start noticing the other members. ASA has really made me love this group just like CL got me into 2NE1 and Lisa/Jennie got me into Blackpink. both Asa and Ruka did so weeeell and all the girls are really amazing! Can’t wait to see them grow in skill as the years go by!

They are the 5th generation. Treasure is the only 4th generation in YG. Baby Monster can be the last batch of 4th generation in YG, but SM Entertainment has already started 5th generation with their new boy group, RIIZE. So Baby Monster is a 5th generation of YG. SM also only have their girl group as the 4th gen, IF we don't count NCT's 4th gen units like WayV and NCT U.

I've got mixed feelings about Babymonster's song Better Up, I was expecting a hip-hop vibe but more of a teen crush vibe. I don't think we'll be able to compare Baby Monster because they have a totally different vibe, I'd say Treasure with the Mv I saw. Another thing I noticed is that the younger the band the more childish the songs you'll get from IVE, Newjean, Les SSrefin as opposed to bands like Mamamoo, G-idle, Itzy, Blackpink are bands with moral messages. moral messages. It's all very well to make chill music, but the problem is that you quickly tire of it because there's no substance behind it. I get the impression that today's music is more industrial than it used to be, i.e. we produce music just to make money (profit => capitalist system). Instead of producing artistic music, because music was basically an art form for expressing oneself, making claims and fighting for causes, which is a shame. The population of today is more interested in a question of sight than the soul artist. Example : Jessi Gum, Aespa : Black Memba, all the Bts songs on the other hand = commercial. Mamamoo: Piano Man, 2NE1: Come Back Home, Itzy: Bet on Me = non-commercial To contradict myself, I'd say that the whole Kpop sphere is hyper-industrial, with a few exceptions (Mamamoo), bearing in mind that Kpop doesn't really have its own cultural identity because it compares young people to other musical genres and therefore appropriates these genres.

This whole song itself has alot of hidden meanings which you clearly havent spotted in the lyrics. Id suggest you watch the breakdown of this song by youtuber "Knox Hill". You will see that not only is it a hiphop song but alot of references with they MV, dance choreo and lyrics/rap. They smashed it.

Honestly Rora surprised the heck outta me! Like I always thought she had good vocals like all the girls do. But the richness and rasp and TONE of her VOICE….shocked me. She sounds so mature and her confidence really shows since debuting. Rami was always my fav vocalist in the group, Chiquita is still her sassy charismatic self…I can go on about all of them but ima stop there lol😂

All the BlackPink haters already hating on BabyMonster for no reason 🙄 No one’s forcing you to listen to it. Go listen to a different girl group that all do the same Y2K cutesy high pitch concept then. I waited so long for another girl group with the same badass girl boss vibe as BlackPink (they are still unique). Let other people enjoy it and move on with your day. I’m gonna be honest , this was disappointing for me , the girls are great it has nothing to do with them , but the direction of this music and video are so outdated , it looks like they had a small budget or yg Didn’t use the budget in the right places , the sound is the same old yg formula and I don’t mean this as a compliment , it’s not a classic yg it’s a repetitive yg sound , in comparison to all the interesting concepts and out of the box sounds going on in the 5th gen , this sounds like they don’t event know they’re deep in the box . The video is also pretty similar to boombaya , school bus , dance in the middle and club looking setting with individual shots , no new creative direction , it’s getting extremely infuriating that yg builds hype for these incredibly talented idols and never deliver it , some things need to change in that label fast and drastic because they’re barely holding on

I can see that too , and it’s cool to a point however yg has been getting a lot of backlash for years for doing similar concepts and sounds that I genuinely thought they would do something different this time since they have fresh , new gg , idk what’s happening behind the scenes ofc but it feels like they need some new creative directors and experimental producers , cuz when most of your groups are doing similar concepts and sounds what’s the point of passing the torch especially when blinks also have been vocal about wanting new creative direction and sound for a while , so this debut on top of years worth of criticism is just disappointing ,it just gives the impression that the company just doesn’t care , yg will have to realize their past reputation is not going to keep them afloat forever , for a hip hop inspired company there’s so much they could do , I’m sure they tried but personally it doesn’t show , for example I would’ve loved some actual “old school “ hip hop influence , similar to finesse by Bruno mars , something swaggy and fun , they pull all these old school hip-hop references like in pink venom Lisa’s verse or Asa’s solo rap performance but don’t pull any of that for inspiration so the end product just feels empty or rather just acting like a “cool girl group “ yg is starting to feel like a copy of themselves ……I can go on and on but I already wrote a whole essay lol sorry 😂
