You NEED to check out a live stage of Kiss and Make Up, in their concerts they shared Dua's lyrics among themselves and the show Jennie and Lisa put on is simply amazing, they really bring the heat hehe, you could search a JenLisa moments in Kiss and Make Up compilation, they get very sexy! The animal with Jennie was a capybara, it's her favorite animal, she's always wanted a capybara in their MVs and finally got a "cute" enough concept to do it hehe And out of the collabs, they are only close to Selena and Dua. They have met Dua in person several times, Dua actually skipped the BBMAs to perform with them at their concert, she also recently met Jennie at LA (recently as in November 2021). She was their first collab and she trusted them when they weren't as big as they are now globally. Selena also supports the girls every chance she gets and despite never meeting in person they mentioned they have become friends, their energies just matched well I guess. She refused many collabs in order to do Ice Cream with the girls she really wanted it and always praises their personalities and work ethic. It was more business with Lady Gaga and Cardi I guess.

I actually have never listened to original version of kiss and make up only the version of the girls covering Dua’s parts live. Watching this video and comparing the two I 100% agree with you on BPs voices. There are obviously better vocalists out there but I personally prefer the way BP sings their lines. Like hearing Lisa covering Dua’s parts in Tokyo Dome with her deep voice gave me a a rush of endorphin lmao. I’ve always been like that. I much rather prefer lower unique register to higher range and regular tones and vocal runs. I CANT WAIT til, you see more of their live performances, especially of their b sides and collabs like kiss and make up. yeah selena is way more friendly with the girls. Although dua hangs out with them, specially jennie, selena seemed to be way more invested in the collab. She participated in every interview, facetimed the girls while they were recording, and does not stop praising them. Seriously she was all compliments. For me Kiss and Make Up is really the best collab sound-wise or the music. But to be fair, apart from Jisoo having one line and the quirky lyrics, I would say Ice Cream is the best collab in terms of what "collab" should be presented. They literally meld the two worlds into a one collab and Selena nor Blackpink feel like a featuring. It also makes it even better when you watch the mv because they are able to make the video presentation cohesive despite the situation of filming separately. If Ice Cream was released in a western artist's name people would care less about the message and enjoy the song for the hell of it but since Kpop has many audiences that are sensitive to that kind of songs from their idols, it got backlash more than any songs in Kpop's whole discography. I agree that we shouldnt of course praise the song and turn a blind eye to what the song represents, but man, the song is created for the sake of fun summer song, people got over critical to the point they dont evwn listen to it lol. IC is not my fave song but its not that bad as to what many claim, atleast for me. I feel like due to Blackpink's connection to the western artists or the western world in general, they have adapted to the culture it has and they are not afraid to be that "sexy sultry & bold" blackpink when it comes to collabs because they fit their songs to their market. BUT, Aside from their music, I feel like the blackpink members themselves have acquired the western culture as we can see them more liberated and free whenever they're on the west. This is just my observations tho from their posts on insta and such. Moreover, Blackpink are maturing into proper women and they have the say now as to what their image is gonna look like. I'm just so not ready if we get more sexy blackpink on their upcoming comebacks because I would d word. Jennie's CK covers already took my soul out of my body what more if we get some more...

I wish Lisa got more singing parts bc her voice is so 😩🤌 I feel like they messed up having everyone in the vocal position (but Lisa) so they give a lot of singing parts to Jennie (bc she's a lead singer) but then they can't give her rap parts bc Lisa will have no lines if she doesn't sing....yk what I'm saying? I wish they gave Lisa a 'vocalist' title and probably give Jisoo and 'rapper' title so they could switch back and forth more. The songs have more singing then rapping anyway so it would work better. It's really noticable in these collabs. In Sour Candy Lisa has 2 lines, but it's the same one repeated her recording probably took 1 minute lol. In KAMU she sings "kiss and makeup" over and over 😭. Bet You Wanna she legit has 2 lines it's like reverse Ice Cream. Ice Cream was the first collab Lisa actually got a lot of lines, but once again it's bc they gave her all the rap parts, which this one happened to have a lot, and the other three- sorry FOUR girls sang the rest. I just think their line distribution is a mess. They could've done this so much smarter. In Blackpink's earlier stuff the line distribution is fairly even bc Lisa used to sing more and Jennie would rap more than her (like a main rapper should) but yeah that's just my very long opinion/observation :') and I could go on😭
