My daughter used the word “triggered” around me once. As a veteran, I took issue and told her what I saw in the Balkans as the result of ethnic cleansing. THAT was triggering. She hasn’t used it since.

Good! It's a legitimate psychology issue that they are minimizing to mean nothing more than hurt feelings. That's NOT what a trigger causes.

I’m a former firefighter… I’ve seen some shit but what really actually haunts my dreams to this day is seeing the absolute carnage and devastation on the families faces. The people who are actually devastated by those events are most likely not pissed or even aware this show exists right now. Their worlds are all way more tragically effected that a fake show isn’t even on their radar and to even pretend like you can associate with their pain is fucking insulting

So i was born in 88 in Yugoslavia (I'm a Croat), war broke out when i was 3, both of my uncles served and both returned with PTSD. They don't really ever talk much about that time, and they both cope in their own way. I don't remember much from this time, couple of vivid memories of my mother waking me during air raid sirens carrying me to basement and hiding there until explosions stopped. Luckily we didn't lose a family member at the time, but overall recovery (countrywise) in the aftermath of the war was long an ardous. I never really understood or could imagine what my parents/family went through until i grew up and had a child of my own, even now i can barely imagine it, and I've done some imagining since invasion of Ukraine started (playing what if scenarios in my head), it just gets my respect and admiration for my family to a new level. Then you have these sheltered fragile adult babies in America getting "triggered" by a violent scene in a sci-fi TV show and then whining on Twitter about it.... Stfu and be happy you lead uneventful lives where your biggest problem is what you will have for dinner. Srsly i would put them all on a plane to Mariupol and just have them live there for a week in a ruin. Then return them home and ask if they still feel "triggered" by a pg13 show.

These people have likely never endured anything traumatic in their lives, seeing how easily they throw the term "traumatized" around. As for the show, Kathleen Kennedy has her hands all over this. These 'trigger warning tweets' are disgusting. I have seen my sister die, same as my dad, and I have suffered from PTSS since, and I had to see so much people die in movies and series in similair fashion. What insanity is it to try and protect everyone from exposure to things that can 'trigger'? It's not nice if it affects you personally and yes some things can 'trigger' traumatic memories or flashes of events, they still do with me but to try and protect everyone from that by bashing a decision to air a series because of events days prior? I don't give a damn about Disney but I do get tired of people feeding of trauma, thinking they're saving the world on Twitter whilst only caring about looking good in the eyes of a certain audience.

The fact people are so thin skinned and soft really does prove how and why we have so many kids snapping and then causing harm to large groups of people. This will only get worse until the root cause of it is addressed. At this point we're essentially guaranteeing it happens more. Things like this didn't happen in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s. Then it happened a couple times in the 90s. Then it went up drastically from there, despite access to them always being there. At that point we have to ask "What changed?" Of course all it takes is someone with eyes and the bare minimum amount of common sense to see.

tbh speaking generally its really vile how people online have turned the national tragedy into something about THEM and THEIR feelings. So you cant speak on anything because it isnt "your identity and lived experience" but these same people are making this horrific event all about them as if they're actually hurt by it. I'm not the families, I'm not the community, I'm not friends to the victim, I can feel however I want about it, but my feelings arent as important as the people who suffered. I understand that emotions online are high but if you cant watch a tv show with actors and actresses acting without acting like you have "pstd" based off an event you and yours werent remotely involved in then you're either lying or napkin weak.

I was on the other side of a door, about to enter, not 6 feet from my mom when she shot and killed herself. I went in to find her deceased body, with details I won’t share, and while I can be a little sensitive to content with blood/suicide now, I just look away, and I’m generally fine. I don’t have expectations of anyone (except maybe friends and family, and again that’s maybe) to be sensitive and/or coddle me.

"Disney also made the mistake of thinking that people would be adult enough to distinguish the difference between reality and a sci-fi space fantasy show" Well to be fair, they’ve spent years cultivating an audience that isn’t so that’s genuinely on them lmao

Imagine how they react when someone changes the brand of toilet paper in there house. If a toddler acted like this back in the 70's the parents would have taken steps to toughen the kid up because life can be rough and you aren't doing the kid a favor by letting them be weak. These people think it's a virtue to wallow in their weakness and victimhood. It's pathetic. This is where helicopter parents, participation trophies and safe spaces have gotten us.

YESSSSSSSS DUDE! i've been saying this for awhile now... literally 1 look at twitter or tiktok and you see the result of "REEEE WAHHHH NO MORE SPANKING UR KIDS IT VIOLENT ABUSE!!!!!!" yeah no. when i was like 5-6 i did some really horrible unspeakable things and got a serious ass whooping for it, which i VERY much deserved at the time, doing things like stealing the only set of keys from the business being built next door and then losing them etc....these worthless kids nowadays need a good whooping too I DONT CARE IF THEY'RE KIDS. IF YOU DO SOMETHING WRONG YOU NEED TO BE TAUGHT. and "listen son/daughter, MOMMY WUVS U SO MUCH OK PLEASE DONT DO THESE BAD THINGS U SWEET CHILD WE LOVE YOU SOOOOO MUCH IT'S TOTALLY NOT OK THAT YOU SAVAGELY BEAT YOUR CLASS MATES, JUST DONT DO IT AGAIN OK SWEEETPEA?" after the kid does some horrible thing for the 5th time in a row is NOT the way to do it, as evidenced by tiktok/twitter, the "devious licks" challenge where they were stealing whole ass toilets/urinals from schools etc, eating TIDE POD DETERGENT, licking toilet seats, etc.... they NEED some sense beat into them big time.

Imagine if they made a Star Wars show where people actually die and stormtroopers are competent. Not only would it set the tone of the series in a different direction but it would have more weight and meaning…except that will never happen because Disney
