Disney really pigeonholed themselves by restricting Galaxy’s Edge to the sequel trilogy. People would go nuts if OT characters showed up in the “Star Wars Land”.

Brickey for the WIN!!! Preach on preacher preach. I will never go to a Star Wars Nite as it’s lackluster and offers little to nothing from a traditional night at the park. I would gladly be your intern for that mtg with Disney to make this nite(s) work. B keep doing you. Your voice is a unique one that speaks to fans not only on a “news” basis, but on a passion basis. I’ve been to two Star Wars nites and you are so right about it. I honestly have so much more fun when I go either with my kids dressed up or friends and make it a Star Wars nite of our own. Dressed up, lightsabers, drinks at Orga’s.

If they're gonna use Tomorrowland for it as well, then I'd love to see them absolutely PACK Galaxy's Edge with aliens, creatures and droids and block off a path to make it more like a walk-through "maze" That said, I love the idea of closing it down to have the entire event in GE. I'll reserve judgement on Jazz Kitchen until the whole thing is done, but for its too much for me. although I also feel that it was a bit too much the other way as well...Maybe this will encourage Disney to pick up the pace on the rest of DTD. Disneyland turn your mousears up and listen to Brickey. I'd pay double for Ewoks and OG characters everywhere and in a variety of costumes.Hardly anybody cares about timelines at the theme park, especially on star wars night-if you do, pretend everyone is a force ghost and carry on. Spontaneous skits throughout the park should be going on at every after dark event too.

I always appreciate the stories but more so the context of them. Always putting things in the bigger perspective and context

Good video, as always. I know why they are taking down the building in Fantasyland! Sure... I'm taking family to Disneyland next November, and the management of the park obligingly are fixing...whatever...for ME! So it will all be perfect when WE get there. Now, you mentioned the cabins at the Wilderness Campground. Two sons and I went to WDW 20 years ago! And I researched and found the cabins by accident. They were NOT easily found in the accomodations for WDW at the time. I had to work to find them again. That is where we stayed for a week. They were the CHEAPEST and BEST place to stay on the property (at the time). We really enjoyed the privacy of the cabins and the amenities that you wouldn't find in any hotel room. When I had seen what they were doing, I was a little angry.

I'm sad about Jazz Kitchen just for nostalgia, but holding out on judging it until we're able to see how the rest comes together. Mid century modern is my all time favorite design style, so as long as they really commit in the rest of DTD, then I'm sure it will be incredible!

I’ve been saying it since the month GE opened and couldn’t agree more… In WDW we used to have Star Wars Weekends and it was glorious. Characters everywhere. Actors signing autographs, special photo ops and exclusive merch. Even the fab 5 dressed up. Mickey was a Jedi, Minnie was Leia, Darth Goofy and Stormtrooper Donald were classics.. being part of the 501st and marching in the parade each day was phenomenal and special. Sadly it ended in 2015 and now with GE they just completely dropped the ball.. I seriously don’t understand it… I thought it was supposed to be like a full city/planet with characters roaming and interacting everywhere in the land… yet we get two TKs and kylo wander for a few minutes and then go on stage… or just Rey and Chewie…. Why? it’s soooooo bad. Have droids roaming. Make it 1000000 times more interactive. Disney had no idea what they are doing with Star Wars and it has shown for years

Love your ideas. The start wars night would be a great chance to give a bit of the galaxy's edge that we were promised way back at d23.

Bro it pains me to see and walk to galaxies edge then to Tomorrowland, for Star Wars rides. I don’t get why they just don’t put star tours and Star Wars launch bay stuff in galaxy’s edge. I mean it’s just laziness at this point. Put something else in Tomorrowland and fix the people mover. That’s really the only thing that bothers me about Disneyland I appreciate Disneyland I really do. But it really really doesn’t make sense.

Hey Brickey! So, my hometown of Modesto (hometown of George Lucas) just held a fan event downtown…we all gathered, there were TONS of characters, lots of photo ops and fun music. There was a lightsaber meetup and everyone lit up their sabers and then…they had a massive lightsaber battle…everyone laughing, epic music playing and it was great fun. All free! I live Disneyland but yeah, I agree with you. They’re phoning some of this stuff in. Went to throwback night and had fun but , we crushed rides with no lines and didn’t do any photo ops. That’s the value for us out of towners in after dark events.

Great Hot Takes! The fan driven light saber meetup was definitely a highlight last year, that and hanging out with good friends. Still, it's hard not to be baffled and a little bitter that Disney refuses to try harder to with this party and with SWGE in general.

I went last year and it was a total mess. I’ll watch this year’s footage and decide if I’ll go next year.

Another Monday, another Brickey Talks Disney update. 🙌 I'm baffled (albeit not surprised), but baffled that they don't have more photo ops and characters for Star Wars Night. It is the event that could benefit most. They seem more dialed in on other events and this is the event with the most devoted fans and a perfect land. I don't get it....from a business perspective...it's beyond odd. Thanks for the Monday ❤‍🔥 Your acknowledgement about the lessons learned last week is further evidence that you're a stand up guy.

Unfortunately I don't think they are going to take advantage of their IPs until Universal take away more of their market share. But this may happen sooner than we think because Universal is on fire right now. These After Dark nights don't sit well with me, they are double-dipping ticket sales and I avoid park days where I only get to go until 8pm unless I pay an additional amount of money to wait in longer lines for sub par food and meet and greets.

After your opinion of STARWARS nite and the fan events, make me want to bring back LIGHT VS DARK STARWARS day event. We stopped in 2019 due to reservations

Hyper Space Mountain is a great bonus that once again that Disneyland is lucky to have. I enjoyed my Star Wars After Dark Nite event last year, but I went to the second party and study the vlogs from the first party to get my value. You should not have to study and work that hard to get your value out of a "private" event that has a ticket price of $169. May the Force Be with You 🤘

Hey Brickey, I just wanted to thank you for your honest review of the Star Wars Nite event at Disneyland. I was really disappointed with the event as well, and I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one. I'm a huge Star Wars fan, and I've been to two Star Wars Celebrations, so I was really excited for this event. But it was just so disappointing. The lines were long, the food was overpriced, and the entertainment was mediocre. I was really hoping for more from this event, but it was just a big letdown. Thanks again for your honesty. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who felt this way about the event.

Light saber churros? Disney is really lacking on Star Wars in general. Drop Hondo or Cad Bane walking around...and watch Galaxy's Edge fill up.

Intense photo op w/o much of a line... Disney Chase card op with Darth Vader in the truly unused Star Wars Launch Bay. It was so cool that I went back with my grandson later the same week. Twice more. Yeah, obsessed.

The simple answer is they know Star Wars fans will hate anything they do anyway. That’s the key component of being a Star Wars fan is “you must hate everything that isn’t the original trilogy”.

I stopped buying the After Dark event tickets once the inclusion of free parking was removed from the ticket price. Now you have to buy the ticket PLUS pony up the $30 at the parking lot. If you're an annual pass holder who gets free parking, you just show up during the regular park hours then stay through the After Dark event. This essentially gets you free parking for the theme park's regular hours PLUS the After Dark event as well (which I wholly endorse). BUT the regular, non-pass holder is subjected to this rather large add-on of $30 per car above and beyond the already insane After Dark ticket price. This strikes me as a slap in the face and I no longer go to these increasingly uninspired, cash grab events. I'd like to but, I'm tired of forking over large amounts of money when Disney seems to be making a minimal effort to earn it.

I think you hit it on the head when you mentioned budget. They blew the budget on Oogie Boogie and Xmas nights. There wasn't much left for G'sE.

I think if they did give you that hour of their time with each issue. You could totally solve all of their problems. And Rake in more money than they've ever seen.

Star Wars Nite should be the one time a year when Galaxy’s Edge isn’t “in universe.” The John Williams Score should be blasted park wide. Give us Jedi Training Academy featuring Rey. Have staged lightsaber battles.

Disney I hope you are listening you are not using Galaxy's Edge to full potential!

Have not given in to these After Dark events, for the the time and entertainment at that price . No thanks. Truly enjoyed the AP appreciation events, until we all turned into a big-o Dollar signs and got charged for the free events 🤦🏻
