I'm 37. I was born in 1985. This song hits deep. I remember when we did actually lived instead of watching life and there was no internet or "online". Life was beautiful before social media. We had real human connections that were valuable because our entire world consisted of the town we lived in. Everyone talked to each other all the time. We treated friends and loved ones because we didn't have the option to replace them with fake strangers online. Social media is a disease. I used to have so many friends. All the kids would gather in the same spots around the same time each day. If we missed each other then we just walked around or rode our bikes. We used to play massive games of his and seek that spanned the whole neighborhood. Few yards had fences so we could run in between houses. Everyone knew each other. We got exercise. None of us were fat.

It totally hit me today, when he says “you move like an electric zombie” he’s talking about people walking around slowly one step at a time looking at their device instead of looking up

I've personally been slowly fading away from social media. I mean I love making videos for my fans and playing my games... it's my creative outlet, a place where I can truly be myself. But I like take in the world around me some afternoons and go for a walk.

God this song expresses my exact feelings. I walk to school everyday because I like to walk through the forest area, and I cant tell you how many people I pass by (THAT ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF NATURE) but are walking like "zombies" staring at their fucking phones and running into others... tragic.

This is a great song. It speaks of the control of technology on our lives and makes us slaves to our phones,TV s, etc. We need to get out a bit more and start exploring where we live. Adventure around and get to know what's around. There's more than what meets the eye.

Love this almost as much as "The Best Ones Lie". This one is a bit like "Disillusioned" by A Perfect Circle. Also a great companion song to your "Sound of Silence" cover.

Does anyone else remember a time before the internet, even before cable, when there were only a handful of stations, and between certain hours of the evening and morning, you could flip through the channels (and I mean manually turn a knob, click, click. click...) and get nothing but static because even the tv station people went home and slept? And kids went out to play during the day because there was nothing but boring adult crap on tv, like soap operas and news. Even on Saturdays, the cartoons eventually stopped, and outside we went. Ah, the good old days, when less choice was actually better for us... ;)
