Diving a beautiful reef in the Red Sea

4 жыл бұрынToday's vlog: It has been a while that we where diving. We do not have a compressor, so our full tanks are precious. But in this National Park Wadi gemal we can nothing but take our diving gear out of the sailboat:) Enjoy!

On the 17th of April 2020 we left marina Port Ghalib in Egypt, heading south towards Sudan and Djibouti and finally Maldives. We will take it easy, enjoy the beautiful reefs of the red sea and keep an eye on the corona regulations of the ports we pass. Since many countries are closed we don't know where we will be allowed to go on land again, but we can survive 4 month without seeing anybody :)
This journey is only a small part of our trip that started 2 years ago. We got the sailing- skills on our friends yacht 'Shalom' when we joined them on a trip from the Netherlands to Spain. / @sailingshalom . In Spain we decided to go with our own boat, and in no time we were the happy owners of 'Messenger'. We left may 2018 and started vlogging from the beginning, we made 15 minute video's of our adventures, the nature and the many special people we met. We cooperated with OM to visit their projects and film them on our way. Since 19 of March we started with a daily vlog due to the corona situation. We plan to keep doing this the coming months.

Dove must be dived, sorry :) i know the english speaking people will understand. But the Dutch are the ones that always come with corrections :p So for you guys... we know :)

Both dived and dove are correct. Lovely video. It must be getting very hot there. Hope you have lots of 'sweet water' (freshwater)💧 lol 🌬⛵⚓😎🏝

Wat is het daar mooi onder water En die roggen geweldig om te zien Wel mooi als je ook kunt duiken 🥰 in zo'n mooie omgeving

Ja, duiken is toch weer anders als snorkelen. Terwijl we snorkelen misschien wel net zo graag doen. Maar idd Hier zijn duiklessen echt wel toegevoegde waarde! Tis een andere ervaring.

De vorige waren lang geleden.. Malta denk ik :) we hebben in de tussentijd nog wel gedoken, maar geen vlogs daarvan gemaakt 😊

haha ya, somehow we thought we had to save our air bottles for later, because we expected no possibilities of filling. but we found even now a fishing boat with a compressor. but we have been too careful to use our bottles, you are right. should have done it more.. but we really enjoyed free diving as well!

Al sinds Nederland :) nee geen compressor.. We vullen soms bij boten die wel een compressor hebben, die zijn er best veel in de rode zee. En daarvoor altijd bij duikscholen. Dat was wel echt een missie.. Die dingen zijn zwaar om een stuk mee te sjouwen 😁 we hebben er 4 trouwens dus kunnen 2 lange of 4 korte duiken doen.

@@sailingmessenger8125 Leuk. Dat zwemt toch een stuk relaxter, als je niet elke keer naar boven moet. Wij hebben één keer met flessen gedoken, in Curacao. Was erg leuk!

Ah tof! Is lekker rustgevend he?! En het is trouwens ook best handig om duikspullen te hebben voor het geval er iets onder de boot moet gebeuren, of als je anker vast zit en het is te diep ofzo. Is ons nog niet vaak gebeurd, maar als het een keer gebeurd is het wel heel handig

@@sailingmessenger8125 Ja, dat lijkt me inderdaad handig. Maar wel weer nog meer zooi om mee te nemen :-) Ik zag dat je tegenwoordig van die kleine flesjes kunt krijgen die je met een fietspomop kunt oppompen, voor een minuut of tien extra lucht.

Voor de wind idd, maar geen spinaker helaas. Maar met die wind die voorspeld staat zou dat ook een beetje te stevig zijn. Komt een aardig briesje aan 😁

Actually the Americans started an environment protection organisation's together with the Egyptians 😉😁 but the coral is amazing yes!

Love your videos. U guys are a cool couple. Wish i saw the videos while you were still in egypt. I live in egypt and dive whenever i get a chance. Maybe on your way back we could do some diving. Wishing u love safety and happiness :D Ahmed

Hey Ahmed! where in Egypt are you from? it's a pity that we just left 3 weeks ago.. yes, we don't know yet if and when we go back, but we will see. enjoy diving now, when the seas are empty :)

@@sailingmessenger8125 i live in cairo but spend allot of time at my farm in sharqiyah. I know, i just caught on to your videos recently. The diving scene has been opening up in the last couple of weeks so all the egyptian divers are heading to get there nitrogen fix. Hehe Stay safe and thanks for your positive videos.

@@sailingmessenger8125 im driving up to dahab for a couple of days diving. If i have time i enjoy diving in the south. (Wadi gamal, marsa alam, hamata...) Less resorts and people so a bit more pristine, but its a longer drive. so for short trips i go to dahab. Its laid back and the diving is good. Please do contact me whenever your back. No rush, i still want to watch all your videos from maldives and around the world. Hope ur safe and having a good time. Peace.

Kwam jullie vlogs tegen. Wat raden jullie aan als beginner voor duiken en snorkelen? Is Djibouti een aanrader of Egypte? Spreek zelf de Arabische taal. Thanks 🙏🏼

Hey Mohamed! Woon je in Nederland? Bedoel je voor een vakantie waarbij je wilt leren duiken of snorkelen? Zou je met een instructeur of gids willen gaan? Wat ik in ieder geval al kan zeggen is dat je met Arabisch in allebei de landen terecht kunt. En in allebei de landen kan je leren snorkelen of duiken. Egypte vonden wij nog mooier dan Djibouti onderwater, omdat het water helderder is. Ook zijn er meer vluchten beschikbaar dus is het reizen waarschijnlijk goedkoper. Djibouti heeft als specialiteit dat je er kunt snorkelen of duiken met walvishaaien, een ongevaarlijke haaiensoort die plankton eet, volgens mij heeft hij zelfs geen tanden. Dat kan in Egypte niet. Groetjes!

haha good question. We got our masks secondhand in the netherlands. they are freedivemasks actually. the one from Mares en the other one from Cressi Sub. the blue snorkels no idea, just from a webshop but they are great the dive gear we got from a friend

Nee, we hebben geen compressor. We hebben onze 4 flessen gevuld bij de duikschool in port Ghalib, de laatste haven. Als er duiksafari boten zijn konden we ze ook daar vullen, maar nu is er geen toerisme..
