I tried the mechanical brake for get up. I wanted to make it printable. As it turned out, it’s not quite easy. Arduino nano, MPU6050, Nidec 24H, MG90 servo.

Man, the mpu6050 is extremely powerful. Your projects get the full out of it! They're incredible!

I had expected that you would start doing this. Wonderful. It is a challenge to put everything in the CUBLI (batteries etc.) since it will increase the total mass. Hope to see your more wonderful projects in the future!

Yes, I couldn’t help but try. This brake is simple, but braking is not the best. It is difficult to always get the same braking force.

This is soooo cool! Love your builds and your videos, thank you! Have you considered putting code and CAD designs open source for people to recreate these? I'd love have a go at it at some point. Btw., I think these project really have the quality for a real entertaining channel. If you're keen to take this to the next level, have a look at some tutorials, I certainly would enjoy watching more elaborate videos :-)

In all the videos I have seen doing this yours is the most stable. Quite prefect actually, the best I have seen. I really wish you would reconsider sharing or selling the code even if its for this basic one sided demo. ESP32 preferred, but would appreciate anything to get a jump start. If we can't twist your arm in giving or selling the code would you be kind enough to make a few videos of the process?

I am thinking about such videos but it takes a lot of time. I don’t know when it will be...

It's amazing to see the lift off, but would be nice to see the end in equilibrium instead of your hand destabilizing ... But good job .

I think how this work is, as the balance is off, the wheel start to rotate, and the speed is calculated based on the angle of tilt. and after the wheel reaches the certain speed, the fraction band retract to contact with the spinning wheel for fraction of second and collect enough momentum for the device to stand up, and the spinning wheel keeps spinning as a gyroscope. Correct me if I'm wrong.
@ReMRC2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are right about stand up. But wheel not spinning as a gyroscope. This is reaction (momentum) wheel. And this is not the same as gyroscope...

Dear, did you print the brake belt in 3D and cover it with rubber? Can I see the .stl file for this piece somewhere? I am trying to build something similar and would appreciate your guidance!! Thank you the project is amazing!!!!
@ReMRC Жыл бұрын
This braking method is simple but not very good. I tried cover brake belt with rubber but tape is better. It is very difficult to get the braking to be the same every time.

I'm a college student interested in balancing and walking cubes. You used a belt-type brake, can you tell me what the material of the brake is?
@ReMRC3 ай бұрын
The brake is printed. Material - insulating tape. Not a very good solution, because the braking force is different every time.

Is the code for this on your github?
@ReMRC Жыл бұрын
No, because of the very difficult to adjust brake. The balancing algorithm is basically the same as the single-axis self-balancing stick.

Balancing code is almost the same as in one axis self balancing stick. Get up is very difficult to adjust. So, I not provide the code. This braking method is simple but not very good.
