Zach, how's it going up there in Colonial Williamsburg? Hey I think it's a great idea. You could even purchase a more expense Banjo brand motorized valve and still save money. I just got one for my mixing valve for my softwash setup and it was only $106. Of course that's about 4x's as much as the one I used here but I can't find these right now. Hopefully they'll come back on the market soon.

@williamseith4267
@williamseith4267 10 ай бұрын
So this setup would not be a good fit for a softwash system. You need to build a metering valve setup for that because your mix is usually 50% SH and 50% water. That gives you the 6% bleach strength you need to clean roofs. Downstreaming for siding with a 1-2% mix is ok for this system.

@@iamjacksundyingaddiction6595 I'm not that familiar with the Flowpro which looks like a pretty good product. It also looks like that unit uses an automated DN10 ball value which diverts pressurized water from the pressure washer through the bypass system. I really like that. It's actually a better setup. My system only turns the soap on/off but the flow of water still goes through the downstream valve. All in all that system looks like a pretty good product for the money.

Well, I haven't thought about making/selling them. That's not really my business model. I know there are guys on KZfaq that do however. I think they sell them for around $400-$500. You can make it yourself for much less.

I'm with you there. It pays to do the research and build your own rig. You'll have to work on it eventually, so... if you built it, you'll know how to fix it rather than waste your profit paying the local PW store to fix it.

So I don’t need a soft wash system this way
@businessideasacademy
@businessideasacademy 2 жыл бұрын
So this is a great way to downstream using your pressure washer. This system will allow you to remotely turn your soap on/off. You can achieve the same thing by changing out your nozzles. I like this for downstreaming because I'm sure the soap is off especially when I'm watering down plants or rinsine the SH off a home. I've had rinse nozzles that will still let soap through the system. It might be because of the length of my hose causing a pressure drop across the DS injector allowing soap to flow. So for washing homes... you can consider this a substitute for a soft-wash system. However, it will not work if you plan to do roof washing. You cannot deliver a strong enough SH mix to clean roofs (about 6% SH).

Well, I'm not really in the manufacturing business and the season is heating up for me here in Virginia Beach so I just don't have the time. I'd be happy to help you build your own if I can (you know, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime). The parts are the difficult thing right now. I was going to build a second one and the motorized valve in the 1/4" size couldn't be found. I ended up using a more expense Banjo brand, 1/2" motorized ball valve and downsized the barbed fittings.

Tutorial is spectacular but the valves are junk. They last between 3 and 6 jobs before the valve stops turning. Got tired of replacing them so i ordered a FloPro. Higher quality valve and actuators. Those Amazon valves have junk internals.

Why not just use different tips man, I turn my soap on and off by changing tips? I never have to go back to the truck, soap tip turns it on, and rinse tip turns it off. Get after it and make it simple, way too much stuff going on with your set up.
@williamseith4267
@williamseith4267 2 жыл бұрын
You are correct. You can use different tips if you're downstreaming but there are more applications for this setup if you're creative. I use a similar setup with a larger 3-way motorized valve to switch my roof pump from SH to water only. Also, I've had my zero orifice rinse tip (the one rated for my 8gpm) pull soap. Not sure why so I added this system for safety. Especially when using to hydrate plants.
