parts that i used in this project are just easy to find, wiper motor and some bicycle parts. i think this project can lift up to 100kg i dont have some heavy stuff lying around so i didn't have a chance to test it with heavy loads.

Hi.. May i ask the diameter of your custom spocket?
@Philhoppermiller
@Philhoppermiller 5 жыл бұрын
@@shafiqtariq2635 2-1/2 inches I bought it from Harbor Freight. I used it to lift bundles of shingles onto my roof. I was re-roofing my house. I built a trolley and used the hoist to pull the trolley up a ramp I built. I did have pictures on my facebook of the trolley.

Lots of admirers for a chap with great design & build trade skills. Please note that this unit is suited only for 12VDC supply ( yes there may be rare units designed for 24 VDC but availability?). The only suitable DC power source that I know of, would be a 12V auto lead-acid battery or a PC power supply which can deliver in the range 16 to 20 amps at 12V. Either solution occupies space & costs $$. I would expect that this unit would get hot due to high load, so at best it's suitable for intermitent use, allowing time to cool down. It would have helped greatly if we knew the current drawn during the tests. Overall I agree a clever & creative chap.

The more pullies you add the greater the load it will lift/pull. Great video 👍
@AndrewBrowner
@AndrewBrowner 4 жыл бұрын
yes at reduced speed, you could lift the same drill press or compressor without the pulled attached to double the load on the hoist and increase the speed by 2, assuming its powerful enough to do that, if you can find a wormdrive hand winch or buy one the cheap ones are 25$, then just beef it up a little and add an 18v drill to it

Very cool design and build i thought your DIY sprockets were pretty cool the way you made them any idea how much It will actually. Lift or pull ? I imagine the weakest. Part would be the wiper motor ? Although lifting that drill press was impressive

It's an amazing idea, i have many ideas and able to get my hands on wiper motors however I was told that gears in the wiper motors are plastic so i never followed up on any of my ideas, so now after seeing your video im going to take one apart see for myself. Great job! 👍 👍

@skydaddy4192
@skydaddy4192 5 жыл бұрын
@@SekAustria yeah, the plastuc might be hard, but if you go over the max torque even once, and the plastic strips, it is pretty much useless after that.
@petec6690
@petec6690 5 жыл бұрын
Old model cars have forged gears in their wiper motors. I couldn't tell you what year they switched to plastic though. But ones I messed with a long long time ago were iron. With plastic gears all you need is to have a single tooth fail and the whole thing can come crashing back down.
