I have easy to follow and thorough step by step tutorials "do it yourself" (DIY) videos to help you with your broken lawn and garden equipment including snowblowers and zero turn mowers.
I do my best to teach you how to easily diagnose problems the fastest, quickest and most efficient way with real repairs beyond just replacing a spark plug. These tips are for both the homeowner and shop owner.
Whether it be a handheld, two stroke, two cycle engine like a chainsaw, weed eater, weed whacker, string trimmer, grass trimmer, line trimmer, hedge trimmer, strimmer, brush cutter, leaf blower, or four stroke, four cycle units like a lawnmower, wood splitter, lawn tractor, zero turn mower, snowblower, pressure washer, generator or a ride on mower that needs parts installed or replaced, I’m your go-to guy.
My favorite brands of spark plugs are NGK and Champion and are the ones I recommend.
I’ve been a small engine mechanic for many decades and also run my own repair shop so my videos are loaded with tips and tricks that I have learned and want to share with you. You will also find many tool and product reviews from top brands on my channel as well.
I have the largest Small Engine Repair Video Library on KZfaq and the entire internet with over 1200 videos, just GOOGLE "DONYBOY73"!
I want "DON THE SMALL ENGINE DOCTOR" on KZfaq to save you time, frustration and most importantly, MONEY with my HOW-TO videos!

I've been using a lathe since I was 9 years old: 72 years. I never, ever put my left arm over the top of the chuck. It's possible to do that sanding, and filing by reversing your hands to have the right arm go over the tail stock which is much much safer, especially when you're wearing long sleeve shirts.

@@donyboy73 Congratulations on the new lathe. You will find it remarkably useful as you gain competence with it. One of the fun things is learning to cut threads. If it's still available, "Screw Cutting in the Lathe" by Martin Cleeve is the best book I ever read on single point threading on a lathe.

I guess you are using a bicycle sprocket as the main component. Considering the long lever arm, can that sprocket take all the torque you could possibly apply on the handle? A failure under heavy load could cause injury...

Hello from the lower 48, I've enjoyed your videos for years, I've been flipping and repairing mowers for awhile, came across a husqvarna gt2254 with a high low gear, customer already replaced the drive belt, never seen belt routing like that before, ( hope you have ) now reverse is 1st, 1st is reverse. Customer now has 3 reverse and one forward gear, I have a printout of drive belt routing, but really doesn't help, any help would be appreciated. Thank you, keep the videos coming.

Hi, My mother has a really old riding mower. But it runs well. A neighbor had been maintaining it. I went over this spring to get it out of shed for her. and Noticed the blade is shot. I put a breaker bar on the blade nut, and it would not budge. What is your best method for loosening, a blade nut that probably hasn't been removed in 10 years. Thanks.

It's nice that you can use all of those expensive tools that I don't own to make a $20 half inch rachet but why do I care? I can go down the street and buy a 1/2 inch rachet for far less than buying the lathe and the welding equipment.

Very sketchy welding and you NEVER quench welds. For all that effort you could purchase one that has been engineered and tested. I would be wary of using it on high torque situations. Alloy Wheel lut nuts are often at 140 ft lbs and go much higher when they are stuck due to galvanic action. I recently needed a cheater on 24" Johnson Bar to loosen Mower Blade nuts!
