Thanks for the tutorial! The thing I get stumped with when making patterns is how to work out the shape of the sleeves to match the arm holes. Like how to determine the size/measurements of the curve. I would love to see a tutorial on how to figure this step out. Maybe in a slow & detailed way (like you’re teaching a child 😅) so I could make sense of it all haha.

@@Banksiabrown I only had 1 metre and that's why I ended up having to reduce the size of the sleeves. So 1.5 metre for my size (Aus 10) would've been ideal!

I sewed the two side seams that overlap together just for this day so it would stay together and wouldn't be too annoying for the wedding. But since then have unpicked it and left it as two separate pieces so I have the choice to wear them as individual garments :)

Thank you!! So lucky to score the original shirt in this colour and fit. The pink skirt? It's a DIY silk bias skirt with an elastic waist. I've linked the tutorial in the video description x

So prettty!! What kind of material did u used? Is it a bit stretchy ?

I can't remember the exact name of the fabric. But when I went to the store I just asked them to show me the 'silky' looking fabric and this was amongst it. It was a woven style so actually not stretchy (which definitely helps make sewing easier!). If you have the opportunity I always recommend going to a fabric shop and feeling out what they have to make sure it looks nice and will work okay with the garment you have in mind. Hope that helps x

For some reason I didn't video this part sorry (I was probably rushing madly to finish it in time haha). But I pretty much followed these steps kzfaq.info/get/bejne/na-Zl72YlanUqnU.html where I added elastic to the waist, but just didn't cut it on the bias to make sure I could use up what I had. And obviously made it shorter with two normal side seams :)
