Yes, the wire does help to get a tight seal. It takes a bit longer to do but that never stopped me, lol. :)

@@HammyTime Thank you! Yeah, I think that Olive's coloring is pretty cool, I haven't seen many dwarf hamsters like her. Usually Syrians are the ones that have black fur and white chins.

@@gina10nine I have a video on my channel featuring a bin cage cart that’s similar to this one, but I don’t have a tutorial. This one is just a frame the bins sit on. You would need to measure your bin cages and build a frame to fit your bins. I had to buy the 4 way connectors online because the hardware store doesn’t sell them. I used 1” PVC pipes, 4 1” four way connectors, 4 1” three way connectors, 4 1” end caps, 4 threaded stemmed castor wheels with nuts, and a drill to drill holes in the end caps to fit the castor wheels. I used a mallet to knock the pipes into the connectors. I din’t use any glue so I could take it apart if I ever needed to. I used a pvc pipe cutter to cut the pipes. I hope that helps. It was super easy to make. 🙂

Thank you! I have an old video on my channel on how I made my playpen walls. I got some acrylic glass online and duct tapped them together to make it fold up flat. You can also use picture frame glass from the dollar store. Get the 11 x 14 size if available. If you use glass you will need to put tape all around the edges because the edges of the glass are very sharp. 🙂

I wouldn’t drill holes on the sides because its not necessary and it could give your hamster a starting point to chew a larger hole to escape. I would keep it simple and just make an extra large cut out on the lid and attach hardware cloth. Nothing on the sides will help keep your hamster safe and give you peace of mind 🙂

I just now saw your comment. This bin is seasonal so it's usually only available around the Christmas holidays because it's an holiday tree storage bin. Walmart and Target usually have them. Mine were originally from the Container Store so you can check there too.

I honestly don't know, but if you can, now is the time it would be available. These are for holiday tree storage. Look anywhere you can get bins. Check for used ones to probably get the best price. 🙂

I honestly don't know. These are specifically for storing artificial trees and are easy to find around the holidays. I've never seen different sizes.
